Good evening my people of God! How una dey? Trust we all day a great day. The day was a very busy one oh, that's why I have delayed my story till now. Make una no vex biko.
My PPR Story is now done, make una grab seats and enjoy with me. Meanwhile, my writing skill no dey okay like that oh, una go just help me accept am like that noni .
Okay here we go!
IELTS - 1st Feb 2018 (L8.5 R9 W6.5 S7), ordered for a remark and it came out as L8.5 R9 W7 S7.5 - I used the Cambridge books shared on this forum. Wifey did not write
ECA - 25th July 2018 (I missed ITA on this day cos ECA came out around 2:30pm). Wifey's ECA was very fast though.
ITA - 8th August 2018
Biometric Request - 24th October, Completed 29th October
Medical Passes - 2nd Nov. 2018
PPR - 5:58pm 15th January 2019
Story in Full I was never a fan of leaving Nigeria until October 2014, when I just relocated to Abuja. I was in one of my paddy's house and heard him discussing with his aunt about FSWP. I picked interest suddenly and then joined him nah so we start. We were mis-informed then that we would have to get a Canadian Immigration lawyer to be able to scale through. So we employed Abrams & krochak and started paying those guys oh. We spent about 1.3m individually and nothing came out of it. Our ECA came out after about 6 months with ICAS Canada. When Abrams started asking for money payment, I just jejely told my fried that I quit, cos for about a year, we were busy completing one single form oh, we will fill it and he will send it back that we have to re-fill. This went on for like 4 times so I got tired and decided to let it go.
Fast forwarded to 2016, I started thinking about leaving this country again and was introduced to the US study VISA thread. I started following the thread, and by April 2016, I had registered to write GRE for PhD study in the US. The result came out but was not enough to get me an admission with funding, a total of 297 (V:150, Q147 & AW: 4.0). At this time I was advised from the forum to write TOEFL (another test of English I had been running away from) as that would boost my chances of getting funding. I wrote and scored 97, but then, it got me admission in 2 schools but no funding. I quit again as I had no means of raising fund to study for PhD degree.
But in January 2017, My new year resolution was to ensure I do everything humanly possible to relocate from this Naija. then I started following this thread but only during my most free periods, so I was not really concentrating. It then made the whole process look too tough for me to complete, though I was not scared of IELTS any longer since I had written TOEFL already. So I could not start.
Then the next month I stumbled on the Canadian Study VISA thread as I was already stylishly eyeing Canadian Schools. I applied to UAlberta, UofT, and two other schools, In short, I got MBA admission into Rotman's Business School but yet no funding.
Then by October 2017, I told wifey I was not interested anymore and came back to this thread oh, she tried convincing me to stick to one plan as it wasn't good the way I have been jumping from one to another without seeing it through. By that time some of the people I was reading their post had gotten COPR and I was still yet to start. I then started with ECA, and the rest was history
ITA I missed the draw of July 25th Because my ECA report came in that same morning and I was on my way to Lagos from Abuja by road, Nah so network fail me oh. e pain me die as I missed ITA just with 12 mins
POF - Family of 4; I used 100% Gift Deed and also supported it with my Pension Certificate. I fixed the fund for two months and had to roll over three times, the last one being just last Friday and the confirmation mail came in just 20mins before the PPR mail I also submitted my six months salary account statements even though shingbain no dey inside. buhahahahahaha
LETTER OF EXPERIENCE I got letters from my last employer only and didn't bother to include the current employer since I had only spend barely two months at that time. I also did and LOE to explain this part. the LOE also covered name issue on wifey and first son's passport, together with their 'same and one person' affidavit.
Medicals - (My greatest challenge even though I knew many people scaled through this) I had ADR for additional test due to my HBV status and that delayed a bit until 2nd November before I could pass medicals. The request came actually before AOR cos our medicals was upfront at Consultants Practice, but was not ready until after Biometric request as because I was using one very meticulous Gastro from Lagos Island General Hospital.
This is the end of my Story ooooh
Oya, Prof Ralph, come and give me my 10/10....I cannot coman go an kee myself
But before I leave, I wish to sincerely appreciate everyone on this thread especially @Newmum, Chai... That lady unknowingly did a lot for me on this journey. At a time, I was only interested in whatever she writes cos they were always addressing my issues directly then. May God in his infinite mercies continue to bless her and everyone on this journey, both the landed seniors, newly approved and the Jambites among us.
We will all have a a reason to laugh last by the special grace of God. I am happy today because God has crowned all my long time effort and it has finally ENDED IN PRAISE.
Once again I thank God and I am thanking everyone here.
PEACE!!!
Congratulations is this AVO? 2 Likes 1 Share |

1. The only way you can include her in your application is if she is your wife, not girlfriend. Therefore, you might decide to put off application till you both are legally married.
2. Even after marriage, she can still bear her maiden name. She need not do a new international passport all over again - unless she wants to. All you need do is include your marriage certificate in your application.
Note: IRCC does recognize common law relationships but proving that is a Herculean task. Do you both have investments/properties together? Child(ren) together? Joint account? Living in same house for years? Etc. To your answer m you can include your girlfriend in your application. It's called common law partner I believe. Of course you must have live together for a specific period and shoe necessary proof. So yes you can file together without being married 1 Like |

SO IF I HAD DECLINED MY PREVIOUS ITA...OUR SCORES WOULD HAVE BEEN 443 AND WE WOULD HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THIS DRAW... WITH MY HUSBAND AS ACCOMPANYING.
I TIRE.
CONGRATS TO ALL WHO RECEIVED ITA TODAY AGAINST ALL HOPE! Awwww just saw this message. I know this journey can be frustrating but if the only reason your spouse is not going is because of IELTS then you should reconsider. Scores this year have gone down to 440 before today's draw. I still think retaking the exam by both of you is the best way. Spousal visa is quite tedious, spousal visa with VO in Accra is something else. Check Canada visa.com to see people's story. Take deep breaths from today's disappointment and forge ahead. 4 Likes |

laghopeful20181: Good morning people,
Your advice will be appreciated please....
I am the PA. We had received ITA in september 2018. At the point of submission in November, i realised that my husband's IELTS had expired. After exploring all options, we had to decline the ITA. While back in the pool, I adjusted my profile - my husband as un accompanying spouse. I received another ITA in November -449 cut off (My score without my husband as accompanying was 451). A few days after receipt of ITA, I had a birthday.. In the meantime my husband registered for the 1st of December IELTS. After plenty research, I came to the conclusion that it was possible to make a spouse accompanying after receipt of ITA...providing that the score after adding the spouse meets up to or exceeds the cut off for the draw from which you received an ITA from (In this case, cut off of 449). Unfortunately, my husbands IELTS results came out as 8.5,6.5,6.5,6.5. If I add my husband to the current ITA I have now, the score falls below the cut off of 449. My choices as I see it now are as follows:
1. ahead with the ITA I currently have in which my husband is an un accompanying spouse (please not my IELTS expires on the 7th of January) 2. Decline the ITA I currently have. In this case, I go back into the pool. With my current age and husbands results our score will be 443....then hope and hope that the next ITA will have a cut off of 440 or 442. 3. If the next ITA is above 445, it means I will need to write IELTS again in January. IF I max out on IELTS points, our total points will be about 448.
I feel like a bird in hand is worth more than 10 in the bush oooo. I feel that I should go on with the current ITA I have. If all works out we can apply for spousal sponsorship in future....I have heard that spousal sponsorship is hard... how true is this? What would you all advice?
Thanks a lot I hope you rejected that ITA. Congratulations |

Thanks a lot Wisdom is profitable to direct. My advice 1. Reject the ITA 2. Both you and your spouse should rewrite IELTS. It removes the pressure on the PA go perform over and above expectation 3. The best time to register for IELTS is now. 3 Likes |

yemiosinbajo: The only area I'm very confused about is where you said your mother earned 120K as a teacher in Nigeria, and you earned over 400K. Then you capped it up by saying that your mom, now a Canadian citizen, wants to go back to Nigeria to 'rest'.
Sometimes I wonder if it's the same Nigeria I left years ago, but someone should correct me if I'm wrong: what sort of teachers in Nigeria earned up to 120K three years ago? Was she teaching at an international school like those British Lekki school or mission schools like Loyola? If she was, then, she must be highly qualified, so how come she struggled on arriving in Canada? And now, Nigeria is a place people go to rest? You even said she informed you that she is no longer intending to go into teaching -- does this mean she's intending to go back to continue life in Nigeria or what?
And if you were earning 400K per month in Nigeria back in the day, what makes you think you are making it more in Canada now? With 400K a month in Nigeria at the time, wouldn't you be able to afford all the same luxury you have now in Canada if you had this same amount of discipline? The bulk of Nigerians you see on this travel section willing to relocate abroad are not earning anything close to 400K a month. And your mom is in her 50's, so how old are you?
Note that I'm not accusing you of lying about anything, I just got confused by these aspects of your statements, and would be a good idea if you could clarify. A level 12 and above would earn over a 100k dating back from Obansanjo era . Government school teachers earn better than private school teachers. Am a civil servant so I know. On the age part when I am 50 my first child will be 25. My spouse is also my agemate. It's possible Those parts of your question spoke to me, felt the need to contribute 18 Likes |

MummyKeona: Good morning people of God, I've been a silent reader for a while now and i have some questions that needs clarification.
My husband is the PA, his age 35 and work experience 4 years (software engineer) isn't giving us a good CRS score (385), the problem is that i don't have a degree(only finished secondary school). even if i take the English test i cant add much value to his score( around 400). if we can get his company branch in Canada to employ him, will it be accepted as a job offer? secondly, if we do not get a valid job offer what can we do? thirdly, from the six selection factor he has about 70point plus which means he is eligible to apply for EE...the one that is confusing my life and destiny is the difference between CRS and Six SELECTION FACTOR.
please my questions might not be arranged well but i need help. i appreciate everyone of us on this thread, God bless you.

Can someone be kind enough to put us through please?? I answered this question some minutes ago. You need to do certification exam in the regulatory body in the province you land. Also you can do a diploma program in a university. The certification is most important. Google CHRP and check for the website of the various websites for the province you are relocating to. 1 Like |

WES evaluated my Bachelor Degree as equivalent to a Canadian Bachelor and Masters degree.
Can I state Masters degree as my highest level of education when filling the EE form? What's your Bsc on , what profession? Whatever is stated on your evaluation certificate is what you should claim. Of they put equivalent to masters then that's what it is. Can you post the certificate here . Don't forget to strike out personal information 1 Like |

Please can anyone who has gone through the process of adding their new born post AOR walk me through the process. I have raised a CSE to notify CIC about the new addition to the family by contacting AVO directly and the response I got has left me with many questions than answer. Please see below
Hello, In response to your below email, please provide the following documents in order to add your child to your application: • An updated Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) • An updated Additional Family Information form (IMM5406) bearing original signatures from you and your spouse. • Copy of your child’s birth certificate • Copy of your child’s valid passport • Payment of the Application for Permanent Residence Fee for your new dependent if he is accompanying. Box 1639 42 Independence Ave., Accra, Ghana
How do I submit these documents? Raise another CSE for them or submit the hard copies? (Note the request for 4 recent passport photographs).
My profile is yet to be updated with any ADR requests. No submission of hard copies. Raise a CSE to CIC Canada not AVO office (cos they don't reply back) . Also check again on Monday on your page of the spaces will open for the requested documents. Congratulations on your baby. Link to pay fees https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do 1 Like |
