Good evening house,

Please we should not allow the good work of this thread die down.

People hardly share their experiences anymore, from the visa interview, travel process, birth story and baby’s documents.

lets Continue to share our experiences as people may benefit from it.
Nairaland taught me alot back in 2022 when I had my baby and I'm grateful for that

Thank
You

Ask this in the US visit visa thread.

It could be the appointment date is for you to drop off your passport at OIS or it might be in person interview.

Interview waiver is still on however it doesn't mean you can't be called in for an in person interview

I’ll do that thank you

My ordeal with US embassy story, I stopped applying since 2018. I wish to reapply now but I want to clear the uncertainties, prevent further refusals. I gave birth 2016 using my USA B1/B2 Visa with the sending of change of intent was about 3months gone when the VISA was gotten, the change of intent was the norm then, after birth at Oakbend and using Dr E in Richmond, Texas, my birth was normal vaginal delivery, no Medicaid and no extra fees, spend about 5k. Fast forward to 2017, I went for the intended visit with my 1 year old baby to Virginia, 2018, VISA expired and at renewal, I went for a F1 Visa ,it was denied, family Visit Visa, it was denied, hubby went alone, it was denied. Please going back now probably for another F1 Visa, what should be in place, please I need guidance from you and everyone with how they have solved this problem. Thank you

Why F1 visa ? If I’m not mistaken, F1 is for students intending to study in the US . Why not the normal B1/B2 visa if the purpose of the trip is family visit

Hello everyone

My previous US visa expired in June 2024, the visa was issued after 221G administrative processing. I want to renew the visa this year but unfortunately it’s like I am not allowed to use Dropbox, because after answering all the questions for appointment scheduling it took me to embassy appointment page. (Appointment date is for 10th October 2025)

I am not in a rush to renew my visa but I just want to know if Dropbox has been scraped (based on recent news I heard) or if it’s just a problem for me

Please can anyone help me with information about Dropbox.. is the service still being offered ?

This will enable me prepare for the visa interview adequately.

P.S I gave birth in Houston Texas in 2022

Thanks a lot

Hello everyone
I'm not sure if this is the right thread
I had my daughter in the US, and I'm trying to get her a nigerian passport in the US. I understand she needs NIN first. Does anyone know what the process is like and the requirements since she doesn't have a nigerian birth certificate? Google isn't helping. I'll appreciate all the help i can get.

You can apply for the National Population commission birth certificate and use it for the NIN

Hello everyone
Asking on a behalf of a friend

He applied for UK visitor visa along side his son(a minor) and his wife.

Their appointment is for tomorrow but 2 people are for 9am and 1 person is for 2pm

Unfortunately he’ll be traveling from another state to arrive in Abuja tomorrow.

Will they all be allowed to enter the visa center if they show up at 2pm ?

Thank you

I had my baby in Houston Texas in 2022

Though I entered through New York to avoid any stress with CBP officers and it has hassle free.. spent less than 2 minutes and was stamped in. Went on to spend like 4 days in New York before traveling to Houston.

I’ve seen a few people asking about entry through Houston, please can we get feedback from people that entered through Houston ?

Planning to have baby number 2 in Texas again.

Thank you

Hi
Hazardfan1:
Good evening house, please how can my wife get an early appointment date?

Tbh I don’t want to be one of those people facilitating the use of agents but if her Edd is close, an agent will probably be your best shot.. however you have to be very careful if you decide to use an agent because scammers are around.

Also, it’s not like the agents perform any magic to get the dates.. what they usually do is use multiple accounts to view the appointment page multiple times a day. So whenever a new and early date drops, they quickly book it for you.

When is her EDD?

I have tried to go through the thread but I’m getting conflicting answers.

Please which Schengen visa is the easiest to secure (in terms of required documents, and also approval)

Also, which Schengen country grants the longest visa.

Hello everyone
1. My mum renewed her passport and she updated her year of birth from 1966 to 1967 (she found her declaration of age from 1992) and she decided to update her information ( she also updated her Canada visa and US visa information to the new date of birth). Now the problem is she already has a 10 year UK tourist visa and it holds her old date of birth…. How can she update the date of birth without cancelling the visa entirely. She has only used 2-3 years out of the 10 year validity.
Thank you

2. I want to know what is the next available appointment for a fresh applicant. I want to apply for a tourist visa for mysel

I have a degree and master’s in Mechanical Engineering. I’ve read up on the immigration website and it seems I’m eligible but I’m being told otherwise by someone that is a citizen of Canada. I would like to get an idea on how to go about this application.”

So she’s eligible for Dropbox but after the drop box they returned her passport with a letter saying she dnlf schedule an appointment for finger scanning under 221G.

Please how do we schedule this appointment? I’ve not seen anything to lead me to that. Is it a regular appointment?

Hello,

if there’s anybody in need of details for accommodation in Houston Texas around Richmond, they can reach out to me via email (since adverts are not allowed here). I stayed there when I had my LO last year in Memorial Hermann and it’s quite affordable. It also comes with additional benefits.

ABSTRUSE:

Could you share with us how you appealed the decision?

This is what I sent

Dear VO
My name is ……… , with date of birth…… and passport number ……. , currently residing at…….., Nigeria.

I am writing this appeal with a heavy heart as I find myself caught in an overwhelming state. I wish to appeal the recent rejection of my tourist visa application which I received on the 4th of May 2023 after waiting for over 11 months for a decision.

To begin, let me emphasize that my intentions of visiting Canada are solely for the purpose of visiting my brother who is currently in Canada for the purpose of studies. My stay will be short as I intend to immediately return to my Husband and 8 month old daughter whom will not be traveling with me. (I made sure to add this, to show them that I have strong family ties in Nigeria)

Regrettably, my wish to visit my brother whom I have not seen in over 18 months has been put on hold as my visa application was rejected. I submitted my application with the utmost sincerity, ensuring that every document and requirement was fulfilled to the best of my ability.

My Canada tourist visa refusal letter was received via the IRCC website stating [I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents you have submitted in support of your application, as required by subsection 16(1) of the IRPA. Specifically, I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful: Your declared history of previously refused visa application(s) to Canada or any other country]. I have to make an appeal against this justification as I do not have any history of visa rejection which is what I truthfully declared in my application.

I have applied for over 10 visas in the last 15- 20 years and I’ve been to over 20 countries. I have never overstayed in any country. The timeline of all my applications and travels are noted down below, including the reason for travel and duration of stay.

(I went on to list my most recent travels and I attached visas issued by other countries)

Hello everyone,

Some of you may remember when I posted here in May. I mentioned that I had robust travel history (I’ve been to over 20 countries but my visa application was denied)

Update on my case: so I appealed the visa denial that I got in May and I just received my PPR

I submitted along with my parents and my father received his PPR last month… his passport has been stamped with a 10 year visa (he renewed his passport before submitting)

Still waiting for an update on my mom’s case.

I got the idea to appeal from this page. Thank you everyone

Hello people,

So i submitted an application for a visitor visa alongside my mom and dad last year June ( 16TH June 2022).

Since we submitted the application we are just getting a feedback today for the first time in 11months

For my application it was rejected because the visa officer does not believe that I don’t have any visa rejections in the past ( i have a robust travel history, I’ve been to at least 20 countries in the last 10-15 years, US included), and honestly I’ve never been rejected a visa in the past. My question is, should i appeal the decision and attach all my previous visas ? (I’m honestly not desperate to get the visa but I don’t see the basis of the rejection). Also, i would like to add that every other aspect of my application is fully covered …i.e i have family ties as my husband and daughter will be in Nigeria, i am also fully employed at a government facility and i believe i have attached enough proof of funds.

My mum’s and Dad’s application is still being processed.

Kindly advise.

P.s : we applied as a family because we plan on visiting my brother who is a student in Vancouver.

Hello People
In the spirit of giving back here is my POE experience

I chose to travel through newyork because I learnt it’s one of the easiest POEs.

I left for New York about 2 months ago and right from Abuja everything went smoothly

Check in was very easy for me, after that I passed passport control without being sent to ports health. It’s like none of the officials noticed I was even pregnant because I had a very small belly even at 36weeks

Boarded Turkish airlines, arrived in Istanbul and I had a 5 hour transit. Before boarding my plane to New York, there was a thorough check at the boarding gate for everyone. It was still like a breeze for me. Apparently the thorough check is part of US immigration because they checked all our documents.

Arrived at New York in the evening and I barely spent 2 minutes at CBP.

The officer asked me why I’m in the US and I simply said for tourism and to have my baby. She was even shocked because she stood up to check my belly. And she was like you don’t even look pregnant and she smiled.

Then she asked if I had the funds to cover everything I said yes… so she stamped me in for 6 months.

No secondary inspection.

I’m not trying to promote any agent (I’m a student myself) but with the stories I heard at the embassy, it’s close to impossible to get dates through e konsulat. Yet still, paying any agent is still not guarantee of getting appointments because they sometimes trick students with fake appointments and you won’t realize till the day of your appointment

Hello everyone,

I’m currently in Houston and my EDD is a few weeks away. I was told that it’s usually cheaper to find a pediatrician affiliated to the hospital I’m registered in.

Please can someone recommend a pediatrician that checked their baby at the hospital after birth ?
