8. March 8th 2021: medicals passed and passport request.

These are the messages I sent:
3. Good morning,
My name is (my wife's full name), my date of birth is ...... and my online application for a visa is in process.

My details are as follows:
Application number: ......
UCL: .....
Passport number: ...

I submitted my application in June 13, 2020 hoping to join my spouse (a PhD student on a temporary resident visa) in Canada latest December 2020 but currently the progress update on my application has been stagnant so the earlier I can join him the better for me.

My spouse returned to Canada few days after our wedding and the physical distance between us coupled with Covid19 lockdown and restrictions have dealt a heavy blow to our marriage. Initially, I thought I could cope with being physically separated from my husband for a while hence I went ahead with the wedding but the toll on us right now is unbearable. I have attached a document stating my eligibility and more detailed reasons for my travel.

I currently live in Nigeria and I plan to travel latest February 2021.

Kind regards,
my wife's name

4. reminder email:
Good morning,

I earlier sent the forwarded travel exemption request and its over fourteen (14) business days but I haven't received a feedback from you so I am speculating that I probably didn't follow the SOP.

My name is ..., my date of birth is ... and my online application for a visa is in process.

My details are as follows:

Application number: ...
UCL: ...
Passport number: ...

I submitted my application in June 13, 2020 hoping to join my spouse (a PhD student on a temporary resident visa) in Canada latest December 2020 but currently the progress update on my application has been stagnant so the earlier I can join him the better for me.

We got married in Nigeria on December 13th, 2019 after which my spouse returned to Canada to continue his PhD studies which made it impossible for us to spend quality time together. Our marriage is young, and the physical distance is currently having a strenuous impact on our union and establishing a stronger bond between us. From all indications, my spouse has been negatively impacted by our separation. Quite rightly, the physical distance between us has been counterproductive to his academics and we are looking forward to being reunited as soon as can be.

On my part, it has been difficult to live with this development. I wasn’t prepared for the emotional and psychological trauma being separated from my spouse would bring me. We communicate most times by social media but this has helped only a bit because of several unfavorable prevailing realities surrounding our distant relationship two of which are frequent and prolonged power outages and internet network service downtimes in Nigeria. Worst still, there is a 7 hours’ time difference between Nigeria and Saskatchewan where he is, and so on a daily basis, we have a barely 3-hours’ time window to have a conversation which is frequented by unavoidable interruptions. To say the least, this has been very frustrating and does a disservice to our tender relationship making us grow apart. I am, therefore, humbly requesting for your support to allow me join my husband in Canada.
I currently live in Nigeria and I plan to travel in March 2021.
Kind regards,
Name

Let me stop here because its getting too long please. I attached my letter of explanation with which i applied.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing with us your timeline. However, I would like to know when your Eligibility Review started. Or it never started at all before your visa was approved?

Am also In The boat, I even have a work visa on my passport but I have to apply for another since my former employer back out while I was still on covid lockdown in Nigeria , and I got another employer which means another work permit since it's employer specific ( LMIA route) since I already I had an active visa I believe it will be faster but am still waiting. I think they are attending to student more because they are bringing money, ... It is well o
Thanks for your response. Please permit me send you a private message considering we are both work permit applicants, so we could better update each other .

Hello House!!
PPR dropped today!!!
It’s been a long journey of 1 year and almost 2months.
The Lord is faithful and I judge Him faithful.
Not Student Permit. It’s a Work Permit.
Don’t let me bore you with my very long storyyy.
It will end in Praise for us all.
Pls house how do I send my passport to Abuja.
I couldn’t find the thread. Pls can someone quote me under that post.
Also, I applied with my child, pls should I get different envelopes for the two of us.
One more question, pls what are the requirements, I did my biometrics in Lagos in 2018... does it matter?
Thank you and God bless you.
God that did mine is still doing wonders.
Hello Graced08, I am a work permit applicant myself. Please kindly share your timeline while stating when eligibility started because it seems to be taking forever considering it has been stuck in background check processing all this while.

Ok

MamaOO:

No. They give the validity based on the expiration of your passport. At least if you’re a Nigerian passport holder. If you’re passport is expiring in 5 years, they give you 5 years. If it’s expiring in 9 months, they give you a 9 months visa.
Do they give 10 years to Nigerians with 10-year validity passports too?

i applied in September 30th 2020, had my bio-metrics on october 6th, got a mail on the 30th of november saying were still working on your application { which i think its a generic mail} and till now.... no response from them. this SOWP is taking too long.
I had my biometrics September 2020 and ever since it is only the background check that has started while eligibility is yet to start.

Has your own eligibility started by any chance?

Good day. How long did it take for your work permit to be approved because I applied for same September and it is over 3months now.

So, I arrived on Dec 26th. I am very tired. Since I am not on study permit I don't think there is any reason to write full gist. I may add the pictures and videos I took to photos and link them here later.

The procedure to get your work permit is pretty much alike to that of study permit.
