Politics / Re: USSD Charge: FG Stops Telecoms Companies From Charging USSD Transactions by supaduma: 4:56pm On Oct 20, 2019

Please I need enlightenment, the Gtb *737#, any time I used it they normally deduct as little as #20.

The so called USSD they are saying now, is it the same thing? If so, GTb & Airtel has been robbing us since all this while o.

Thanks!

All Telcos apart from MTN charge subscribers when the use bank codes. MTN has traditionally passed the cost to the banks. But they are now pushing back. they actually requested that MTN revert back to charging customers.

Ussd service has always been charged just like text messages.

But the issue here is that MTN has not been charging customers for using Banks USSD codes, instead the banks purchase bulk sessions and are charged from their bulk purchase. However, MTN just implemented new USSD pricing as directed by NCC and the banks wont have it, they rather requested that MTN revert to end user billing which other Telcos have been running since.

So rather than Abuse MTN all vituperations and outrage should be channeled to the Banks who are the real culprits here as they have refused to bear the cost of the service.

So the real question should be, who bears the cost of using the USSD banking codes? The Banks or her customers who access these codes.

Last year 3 banks combined made a profit of almost 250Billion Naira from USSD banking.

For those who dont know, standard USSD charge should not exceed N4.89 as stipulated by NCC (you can verify from their website) However MTN charges N4/per session of 20SECs but the banks deduct N20 anytime you use their code....... Is anyone doing the Maths? So hold your banks responsible for what is going on as they are not willing to bear the cost of the USSD channel .

Politics / Re: Social Media Escalating War Between Herdsmen & Farmers In Nigeria - Dambazau by supaduma: 9:27am On Apr 15, 2016
What an irresponsible government.

Can you imagine that after loosing over 3000 Nigerians to the fulani herdsmen (mobile bokoharam), Buhari's govt first official response is to blame social media without any condemnation towards the herdsmen.

Buhari is just sooooo evil.

I really weep for this country. This will give everyone one an inkling of how insensitive, Callous and careless this Government is.

Social Media that was effectively deployed to oust the former government is now been blamed for escalating the murderous enterprise these barbarians called headsmen abi headsmen.
Well Mr Danbanza or whatever ur name is; Sorry to disappoint you,Social Media has come to stay and will also be used to roast your sorry Asses!

Politics / Re: Biafra Agitation: Prof Wole Soyinka Calls For More Diplomacy by supaduma: 12:38pm On Dec 09, 2015
It takes a very enlightened mind to utter what Prof. Soyinka has just said.
Nigeria's Unity can be best described as a union of convenience. It's not just about Biafra agitation, the Nigerian State has not been fair to the over 250 ethnic groups in the country. The question people should be asking is ; Why are the Igbo still agitating for Biafra 40 years after the war?
Despite the so called re-integration they are still feeling alienated. The central government has deliberately implemented a policy of exclusion against the igbo and other minority ethic group since after the war, solely to further impoverish them and diminish their relevance in National affairs.

For those ignorantly hating on the igbo and making disparaging comments i have just one thing to say '' what goes around comes around''.

If we truly desire to have a Nation, all right thinking citizens must change their perspective on how a Nation is built, you can definitely not have a Nation by force or deceit neither can you get it when the land is fuelled by injustice.

Selah!

The group CEO resigned and his position is temporarily been occupied Phuthuma.

Please stop misinforming people, except you are on a deliberate mission to do same, then goodluck to any one that takes you seriously.

Politics / Re: Ambode Welcomes Walmart, Seeks Firm’s Support On Job Creation - Punch by supaduma: 9:29am On Jul 31, 2015
Walmart will kill local markets. Government should go and study emerging markets where they are operating and learn how struggling local retailers have been relegated. We can still create jobs by encouraging our local brands in the retail sector to expand. If we must have Walmart, government must negotiate for a win-win deal . Percentage of local content in their stores must be considerable enough to give our local farmers , manufacturers, service providers a good deal. A win-win deal with Walmart will have positive effect on the macro economy of Lagos, while on the other hand, if it unduly favours Walmart, it will be devastating.

owobokiri:
The Chinese produces the goods and wholesale them here these days because our immigration department gives every chinese, lebanese and indian a free pass. . Then walmart retails . . All are foreigners. Meanwhile, our politicians claiming to be working hard to create jobs for the people sit aside and clap. The retail sector is most probably the biggest employer of labour in Nigeria yet there they are, applauding. When we decimate the economic circumstances of hard working Nigerian traders through some of these bizare policies, maybe because we feel disconnected from 'those' that we, in our petty thinking, presume to be the biggest beneficiaries of the retail trade in Nigeria, we will only see more sophisticated criminal acts in this country. Why? Nobody will sit at home and die. If the government can't protect her citizens legitiimate sources of income, obviously, the citizen would be left with no other option than to 'survive at all costs'.

Very True and well said. Walmart will run local brands off the market except Government carefully negotiates and gets a good bargain for local content in their stores as well as give local competitors more leverage in terms of concessions. Nigeria has starting seeing the emergence of local retail brands with promising potentials to be on the global stage, we must not stifle their growth with insensitive policies that gives undue advantage to foreign competitors because we want to create jobs.
nough said.

Fellow citizens until we rise up to demand accountability from our leaders, we will keep going round in circles of poverty, deprivation and lack.
Trust me nobody can liberate Nigeria from these thieving raiders or is it leaders execept Nigerians.
We need to start galvanising support via the all powerful social media until everyone becomes very conscious of the need to hold every public servant accountable.. then Boom.... the Peoples Revolution. Like this idea if you want to see Nigeria truly Liberated, Share it and repost it for all to see if you want your Children's generation flourish! #PeoplesRevolution.
Politics / Re: Amaechi Got N257bn From ECA In 2013 - Iweala by supaduma: 11:57am On May 20, 2015
PDP's Amechi and APC's Amechi are all the same ten and ten kobo. Moving from one party to the other does wean him from corruption.
Amechi is only pointing fingers because he feels his ills will be covered by his new found father GMB. The monorail PROJECT in Rivers state is one the numerous drain pipes he used to siphon money from the state treasury. After receiving this humongous amount of in just 10months, he has the temerity to open his mouth and say the incoming Wike government will not see a dim to pay workers salary. What brazen impunity!
He declared that Rivers state is broke after eight years of misappropriating state funds leaving behind a trail of uncompleted white elephant projects.

ALL the Governors deserve to be STONED for coming openly to lie to Nigerians that Nigeria is broke, if Nigeria is broke, then they should be held ACCOUNTABLE.
My piece of mind.

Celebrities / Re: Omotola Defends Ben Bruce After He Was Blasted By Nigerians On Twitter(pics by supaduma: 11:38am On May 13, 2015
[quote author=Built2last post=33688737]We are in a deep shi.t in this country because anything you say now is weighed wearing the Binoculars of either APC or PDP.

Since I knew Ben Bruce, He has been vocal on the state of the nation.

Ben was the first in 2012 Subsidy debate to tell Ngozi Okonjo Iweala that her policies are wack. Ben said you cant remove subsidy without providing alternative transport system.

Google the subsidy debate of 2012 and know that Ben has been speaking long before those accusing him on twitter ever registered on twitter.

Ben is of the elite class, and so will not be toutish in approach, this is the first time he is coming in as an elected official.

If he has chosen now to make his voice more vocal in the interest of the masses, why crucify him.

Kayode Ogundamisi is asking him to account for 30billion on social media. Imagine the nonsense. social media should remain social.

one wonders exactly what Nigerians really want. You speak up for them, trouble, you keep quiet they call you names.

IMO, we should munch his tweets and constantly remind him and other law makers that they are accountable to us.

Ben is currently setting the precedence on what the masses expect from this government be it NASS or FG.

He has told us he doesnt want the Ghana must go shared to him

he has told you he is ready to serve from his own house in Abuja to save cost.

He has told you, that leaders should not earn more than those they serve.

whatexactly do people want?

must we weigh everything on the platform of APC or PDP?

Spot on ! Ben may not be a saint, he deserves a thumbs up for setting the right tone for the incoming government.
the same things we have been whining about these years, we finally get a senator who will echo the oppression of the poor and we do is PHD.

PDP will eventually win any Re-run in Rivers State. Though they may not have the compliment of the Federal ''force'', Wike still has huge grassroot support because Rivers people consider Amechi as a traitor and would therefore not give their mandate to APC in a fair contest.
