Non-academic staff of the Obafemi Awolowo
University (OAU), Ile-Ife has paralysed academic
activities in
the campus over non-payment of their hazard
allowance approved by the federal government
since 2013.
But the management in a circular obtained
through the Public Relations Officer of the
institution, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, explained that
the university would pay the workers as soon as
it gets the allowance from the federal government.
The workers under the aegis of Non Academic
Staff Union (NASU) shut down all facilities on the
campus including the senate building, health
centre and library.
They also blocked all entrance to the university
thus preventing vehicular movement in and out of
the institution. The protest took another serious
dimension on Tuesday as power and water
supplies were totally shut down.
The chairman of the NASU, OAU chapter, Comrade
Wole Odewunmi, explained that, “after this, if the
management refuses to respond to our demand,
we will notify the management of our strike
action. This is just a notification ahead of our
strike action.
“We met with the pro-chancellor but his response
does not suite us. After I took the report of the
meeting to our members, they decided that we
should make our agitation known to the
management and the public.
“For the past 64 months, we are owed hazard
allowance and we have had several meetings but
yielded no results.
“The two parties – government and management-
keep pushing blames on one another and it is this
people that we know that we will protest to.”
The protest will enter its fifth day by tomorrow
Thursday.

-If you really desire God, you will get Him (chapter 2:9-14)

-Get rid of your old garment first, then you may wear the new garment of the new man (chapter 2:12-13)

-When the presence of God comes upon you, you will be looked up to by those who previously looked down on you (chapter 2:15-16)

-God can indeed do anything, regardless of the natural/earthly laws involved. He afterall created the earth (chapter 2:19-22)

-Have a big barrel of desire/ expectation, seek the Lord and He will fill the barrel to how big it is

There is no holding back in the dealings of God. When He wants you, He wants all of you. When He starts with you, He starts with your love.
God's view of love is something that is beyond being pleased with Him or appreciating Him when the going is good. Anybody would like somebody if they made things go well with and satisfied them. God appreciates that but He wants to see that you love Him even if things do not go well and you know that He has the power to make it well.

It may be difficult to prove that you are able to love God this way when the going is good, so He may have to test your love for Him by "letting you down". He may take everything that you have or thought you had and disappoint every of your hope in Him. He may push you till you just want to "curse God and die".
Like Jesus and Job while they were undergoing their own tests of love, you may call on God and He wont answer you.

God wants to see that you truly live Him. He wants also to see that you believe that He loves you. It could be tricky to still accept that God loves you in this situation. You may tend to believe that He is indifferent to you, or that He hates you. You may in fact blame yourself.
It is allowed to wonder, but you must not wonder too much and accept God's supremacy like Job did, then commit yourself into His hands like Jesus did. Do this and wait on Him for your trouble to pass.

Accepting God's supremacy (and appreciating it) despite your troubles makes you more in love with Him. Committing yourself into His hands shows that you still believe that He loves you despite not answering your plea for change.
God will see this and be pleased with you. And when the night passes with your troubles and morning comes, He will be so happy with you that He wont keep anything from Him in heaven and on earth. And you will be happy again.
Your moment of trouble is a time to know God and fall in love with Him. It shall pass.

Whoever God wants to love to such an extent that others will envy must pay such a price first, so that God will not be accused of being partial.
