Let me give u d few tips I used:
1) the wedding hall: I looked for d cheapest one around my area, church hall. Beautiful environment. Over adequate parking space, and security also d hall was big, all at 200k.
2) bought my wedding gown when d bridal shop was having sales at half d cost.
3) paid for the wedding decoration wen d decorator was doing promo ahead. Huge saving with place settings included.
4) mumsy did all d cooking, jus got servers and ushers. Everyone had more dan enough.
5) organised d souvenirs mysef, jus handed it over to friends dt I trust for d sharing.
6) my cousin and sister handled aso ebi wahala.
7) got my traditional wears at a cheap cost, went as far as iseyin in oyo state. Showed dem d design and it was delivered to Lagos.all included at no extra cost.
cool I bought affordable and comfortable shoes and accessories. Friend did make up, hair, nails and dt of my bridal train at a subsidized rate .
9) Husband sowed his suit and dt of best man. It was nice.
Overall, look for people that will help you save cost but don't compromise on standard. Hope dis helps you.

She has to do an adaptation course( I think is for 3 months) if she wants to practice in Nigeria before or after Nysc. She should go to Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria either in Lagos or Abuja for better information. Also she can work in any where after she is through, private, public or industries. One thing I know is she can never be jobless.

Romance / Re: Is It Normal For A Lady To Use A Piece Of Cloth In Place Of A Pad by suzyberry(f): 10:00pm On Dec 03, 2015
There is no big deal in using clothes(not rags as the op said). The clothes used are actually prepared for this purpose. They are washed after use, dried, ironed and kept in a hygienic condition until the next use. It takes the user to be highly hygenic and its good for those that are allergic to pad or more comfortable with clothes. It Is good in an environment where there is fear of disposal of pads or no means of disposal and it was the most common method of menstrual hygiene practice before the advent of modern hygiene products like pads , tampons and the likes. So no big deal guys.
Health / Re: My Experience With Iud's--strictly FOR WOMEN by suzyberry(f): 9:45pm On Dec 01, 2015
IUCD(intra uterine contraceptive device) is a non hormonal type of contraception for women. It can stay in situ for as long as 10 to12 years. It will take your body a little time to adjust to the presence of the Iucd, and most likely the cramps will coincide with your period. If your cramps persist. I will suggest you go back to your family planning care provider to answer your questions rather than seeking other people's opinion because the methods are different, preferences of the client is considered in giving any method of family planning. Most importantly, the medical eligibility of the particular client is considered for any chosen or considered method and the way your body will adjust or accept the method also differ. Please go back to your family planning clinic for your questions to be answered and don't ask people because their method and experience may differ from yours

josite:
I stopped reading your story where u said he was in distress but Hus condition doesn't seems life threatening. so the fact that he is in distress is not good enough to warrant immediate attention. your case is lost.you are one of them nurses.
You may need to read on triaging in health care before you judge, then maybe you will understand better. Talk is cheap. Information can be gotten easily nowadays, so educate yourself . it is better to know than yo speak out of ignorance. Respect

I really want to thank a professional colleague for this wonderful write up. You have only listed few of our problems. The question I ask myself is why is it that nurses have lost their voices, the public generally does not appreciate us because of the different image they get especially from all these so called auxiliary nurses and nollywood. The health care system is so bad in Nigeria that even the regulatory and licensing bodies for health care professionals are sleeping (story for another day). I just keep hoping that one day, health care professionals will go in strike mainly for all these issues and not money, even if the government don't attend to all the problems, at least little will be solved. Another major point is that the populace should be made to understand that health care is not free, someone has to bear the cost, if not the government, then individuals must. We all know that hardly will any hospital attend to you without cash because of how the hospital policy is, therefore spare yourself the stress and heartache to always g o with little money. Patients cannot be trusted also, personally I have paid for patients that I stood in for that the will up their bills later only for them to abscond from the hospital. Patients should know their rights and demand for such but consider the overworked and overstretched staff when doing so. It is a sad situation but we all have to adjust and make things work. God bless the souls of the departed and strengthen their family.

I think as a nurse you are allowed to operate a Nursing home. just try to find out more information on this but am like 80% sure. All the best.
NYSC / Re: Attention Nysc $ Mdcn by suzyberry(f): 9:03pm On Nov 02, 2015
I feel your pain , same situatuon with the Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria. This is a registration body where your license would have expired before you get it, just collect and start processing renewal again, you see Nurses begging to stay in camp even though they have provisional license just because your permanent license is not ready despite the huge amount of money paid to collect it. Nigeria my country, which way forward.

Before you start castigating Nurses, are you sure the nurse that told you that is a professional or an auxiliary nurse. The best is to get treatment in the hospital and next time seek advise from properly trained medical professionals, not people parading to be one. Get well soon.

There is a particular market in Abeokuta, Ogun State where I see and buy this particular white snail. The 1st time I saw them, was scared to buy them but the woman assured me that they were safe for consumption and I have bought them on several occasions, so I think they should be quite common, since I bought them at a local market.

She does not have a bad habit of putting things in her mouth, that is just the erogenous zone for her age (oral phase of the psycho sexual theory by sigmund freud which ranges from birth to age 1). Just watch her so that she doesn't put anything dirty in her mouth and keep her hands clean. Enjoy watching her grow, she is such a cutie.

Career / Re: Challenges Of Being A Male Nurse. by suzyberry(f): 5:59am On Nov 17, 2014
Nursing is a calling. There is no body that is superior to the other in the health team as the same basic requirement is needed for admission to study both medicine and nursing. If u are a male nurse and you are not proud to be associated with nursing and u prefer being called a doctor, you have missed your calling. In Nigeria, most male Nurses don't work in the general setting but in specialized areas like accident and emergency, orthopedics, psychiatry e.t.c. I remember last year, the college of medicine, University of Ibadan alumni lecture was titled "The Nurse is a Man". The lecture really helped to capture the reaction of most people especially women when they know that the nurse that be with them during any procedure is man. See male Nurses in glory, it was a nice experience. People should change their mentality,any1 can choose any profession. Am proud to be a Nurse.
