This 50% Tax on Foreign Exchange Gains is ill-intentioned and ill-timed.
Painfully, I do not think there is any hope for the major banks (except for lenghty court cases).
This 'insensitive' act by government is surely going to have an adverse effect on the FY2024 results... sad
Why not special hurricane/Tsunamis Tax Rebate for those coys in the foods and beverages as well as the Telecommunications and other sectors of the economy that lost most or even entire equity in 2023 alone due to the reckless foreign exchange policies of the Tinubu lead FGN.

Actually you have two values depending on how you deduct the dividend:

1) (40.00/3)-0.90 = 12.43
2) (40-0.90)/3 = 13.03

Most likely they will do second one so the price will be N13.00

It is either 13 or 13.05. Only existing shares qualify for dividend, and the bonus shares can only become existing shares after the qualification date.

*Breaking News:*

The Federal High Court presided over by Hon. Justice Aneke in *Suit No. FHC/CP/494/2021: Venus Construction Co Ltd & 13 Ors vs. Ocean & Oil Development Partner Ltd & Anor* has delivered its Ruling on an application brought by 5 aggrieved shareholders of Oando Plc to join in the suit and set aside the 7th June 2022 Order mamdating Ocean & Oil to buy out all Oando minority shareholders and for which Ocean & Oil wwnts to pay N7.07 per share as purchase price. The Court agreed with the Applicants that the Petitioners do not represent or have the consent of all Oando Shares to file the Petition and thus varied its Order dated 7th June 2022 which is now limited to the shares of the Petitioners who have agreed to sell their shares to Ocean & Oil at N7.07 per share since the Court CANNOT force Oando Minority Shareholders to sell their shares if they do not want to sell.

The implication of the Order is that the *"Oando Go Private"* scheme will no longer fly and that the shares of the Minority Shareholders will no longer be acquired compulsorily as planned by Ocean & Oil.

The Federal High Court also awarded a cost of N100k against the Petitioners and in favour of the Applicants.

SEC just recently declined the request of PZ Cussons to buy-out minority shareholders and delist. Do your findings. Just google it. And that put a stop to their intention to delist.
As long as SEC rejects the application to delist, the company cannot delist.

Alright
Good to know

You get it, perfectly!
Oando shareholders have been through very difficult times. And now that there seems to be some hope, this delisting issue has cropped up. That is why some shareholders have vowed never to allow the delisting succeed. Hope SEC would be equally determined to protect shareholders interests.
SEC does not stop a coy from delisting the only thing they can do is to ask for a fair consideration for the shareholders.

Who has an insight into what is happening to MERISTEM GROWTH EXCHANGE TRADED FUND (MERGROWTH) and MERISTEM VALUE EXCHANGE TRADED FUND. They both have lost 89% and 85% of their value recently.
The are returning to their value points.
This is because they were ballooned so that they became too much over valued.

The only DD anybody needs on Oando right now is to understand that delisting is a matter of 'When', not 'If', until you see a "Press Release" reversing delisting plan.

As of now, your Oando is loaded in a paddle-canoe afloat on turbulent waters, with N7 as your safety net.

What are you saying?
The closing price this Friday divide by 5 is the opening price next Monday.
You will have to wait until the day the bonus share will be allotted before you can be able to access 80% of whatever you invest in the company on or before Friday 14th June 2024.

FOR TRANSPOWER
Their 2018 report was not found so I did 4 years annualized growth.

For 2022 & 2023 I use 80,216,000 OS.

4 years annualized EPS growth is 74%.
4 years annualized PAT growth is 78%.
Despite the growth rate PE is still very high

It will mislead the uninformed investor.

You can see how people are arguing with me here than the EPS is not N4. 00
Transpower 2022 eps is N2:30k, if calculated with 7.5b os; N215:46k, if calculated with 80m os.

Their 2023 eps is N4:03k, if calculated with 7.5b os; N376:90k, if calculated with 80m os.

EPS Growth is 75%.

I may consider investing in nnfm if the price drops significantly to say 14.

When I was learning how to trade on nse, my then analogue stockbroker advised me to sell any stock that gain 50% in my portfolio. In the case of oando, the coy gained about 200% from the time Peterichy highlighted it here. If you ask me I will say kudos to Peterichy.

Banks with healthy balance sheets paid dividends oooooo
lol,
The lesson from my earlier post was that it is not adviceable for people to put 100% of their fund in one stock, with or without due diligence. How Skye bank investors loose 100% of their investment was used as an example.
Yes the bank was not fundamentally sound but buying Afribank generated some level of confidence around the investing public that the bank is still financially strong, ready to go places, only for the bank to go to hell in few weeks. grin

Skye Bank did not pay dividends for 3 years prior to when they bought Afribank.

They don't have a healthy balance sheet
Okay
But my point was that Skye bank had enough to pay for the purchase of Afribank and many considered it as promising. Besides most banks did not pay dividend during that period.
