All this noise the NDA are making though to be transferred to the real people from their region that failed them. GEJ spent 6 yrs and the likes of Orubebe and co kept mute and completely forgot about the common man in Niger Delta. Whatever development the Niger Delta need, wouldnt have cost GEJ 4year to fix but all he was doing was Building Alimajiri schools in the North hoping to gain favor. Make we dey talk truth o. They should have initiated the break up of Nigeria since they know whats happen but they were all being greedy and enjoying the National cake angry

Politics / WHO IS TO BE BLAMED FOR THE NIGERIA PROBLEMS? by talkarena: 7:07pm On Jul 16, 2016
I remember reading a book authored by John Mason, and one striking statement I picked out of that book was a saying, if you would like to know who is responsible for your misfortune, take a look at the mirror. Then I paused a while, took a deep breath, my beloved country Nigeria crossed my mind, amidst different economic challenges, leadership failure, states becoming insolvent, then I asked myself a simple question, who is to be blamed? I grew up with this common song on the lips of almost every Nigerian, “the government is not encouraging” but the question again, who then is the government? do we have Nigerians in government, are they animate or inanimate, living or not living, do they live among us, many question on my mind calling for answers, as I opened up more volumes of questions, another striking personate question beckon; have you taken ownership of your life? then I remember again this saying, what you don’t take care of now, will take care of you tomorrow, without further delay I paraphrased the question, could it be that there are some things we refused to take care of as a nation or individual, which has led us to this cross road now, could it be that we have become too lazy to reason, take bold step, also conceding that, government has failed, should I also fail my environment, my world, myself, I looked at China, as a nation, it was so amazing to know that China is the number one country with the highest farm output, farming alone is employing almost 300million, feeding 20% of the world population, then we as a people remain a consuming nation, refusing to pick up the challenge.
In addition, I would like to give one analysis why as an individual we must take ownership using my local government as a case study.
Years down , once upon a time, Ogori/Magongo local government was just two communities, a neglected area with distance, narrow access to government chest, with visible, palpable and obvious denial of government presence, very remote, but very hardworking, farming became the comfort, subsistence though because vast majority farm to feed their families, because no government “encouragement” to properly commercialized farming, but my people were not discouraged, few who were fortunate to have “government job” still farm massively, I mean competitive farming, during harvest yams are harvested in excess, to the point that we can’t even secure a conducive, save place to bank the products, we had to process some into powder form, cassava, flower, yam powder, maize was not exempted, likewise other products, remember I said even few who got “government work” like teaching still farm massively, I put the government work in quote because then you could stay for 8 months no salary, then for the teachers, of course the popular saying then was “teachers reward are in heaven”, but one thing was sure, food security, they might not be money at a time but food was always there, there, then fortune beckon on us , late general Sanni Abacha created local governments, as the name implies, local government, meaning government brought down to the localities. Hope rekindled, wide jubilation everywhere, chanting songs like “finally God remember us, good thing has come, we are among the chosen, we are better now etc.”. The first set of Elites were chosen as representatives, among them were same farmers, it graduated to elections, year in and out, we witnessed shifting, the local government became well embraced, it was not long, we started hearing “oil money” , “share the money”, almost all left farming to embrace the oil money, I could remember then, you are happy to carry enough food stuff from home when you visit, you don’t mind the stress because it was better and cost effective, but today as I speak to you now, when visiting that same home, you will need to buy food stuff home, I can tell you that my local government is one of the worst hit by the present economy saga in the country, because salary is no longer consistent for a very long time, you will see palpable hunger in the community, those in the city are even scared of visiting home because the “tax” is unbearable, but one would have thought that with government present the farming would have graduated from almost subsistence to mechanized or commercialize, let us even accept the local government also failed to encourage the farming, individual would have taken ownership, especially for some who were farmers before they got into the local government, they have something called Cooperative then, individual could have access that window and channel it into farming, but nobody did and today, the popular chorus continue, Government has failed us! Government has failed!! Government has failed!!

Politics / Niger Delta Avenger And Ipob Misplaced Priority by talkarena: 5:33pm On Jun 26, 2016
Yesterday, I glued to channel TV at about 8pm, it was politics today, and the issue of Niger delta avengers came up, I watched the three guests on the program, lamenting the obvious, palpable marginalization of Niger Delta, but one among them made a point that kept me wondering, in his own words, former President Yaradua granted the amnesty program, and also established the ministry of Niger delta without scraping NDDC, all were to pave way for development in Niger delta but years down the line no development in Niger delta , that is the reason issues of marginalization erupted. Hmmmmmmmm, but my questions, Yaradua brought in amnesty program, established the ministry of Niger delta all to pave way for development in the region, let us assume without conceding though, that Yaradua failed Niger delta, successive president before Yaradua failed niger delta, but unfortunately half way into Yaradua sojourn in Asorock, the cold hand of death beckons, hmmmmm, fate brought "fortune" to Niger Delta, a true, full blooded son permit me to use this, became the president, what a luck that was meant to be good for the region, every now and then you see the Chiefs, "Activists", Cabals from same region parading Aso rock, Abuja became extension of niger delta as being alleged today, mansions, duplexes being built in Abuja by the illustrious sons and daughters of Niger delta, the Niger delta fight became "let's share" by what we are reading from EFCC desk today, the struggle for marginalization of Niger delta became a struggle for Jumbo envelopes, and the avengers refused to avenge likwise Biafra refused to biafrank, questions ;was money not voted for development in Niger delta? was NDDC not funded? Let us assume the billions and trillions allegedly missing in petroleum ministry alone was channeled into development of Niger delta, the mansions and duplexes built by our illustrious sons and daughters in abuja were to be built as hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centers in niger delta, hmm think about that! What of the private Jets cn Niger delta not have commercial Airlines, i saw projects started by Obasanjo n Yaradua in same niger delta but 6yrs down the line, no significant progress, my submission! what we have in nigeria look to me like marginalization of the elites to the Nigerian masses either from south south, south east, south west, nort east, north west, north central, let us call a spade a spade not a working tool or shovel, I implore the Niger delta avengers, the Biafra to befrank in listening to the voice of reasoning, the " Ebele Azikiwe" was given 6yrs benefit of daunt by same group, give PMB half of 6yrs benefit of daunt, as we have in PMB first budget all regions in nigeria was well captured in terms of capital projects. ..if we must avenge we should avenge the injustice done by the elites from all regions. ...

Politics / Democracy In Nigeria; Disturbing Issues by talkarena: 6:12pm On May 21, 2016
Democracy as defined by the third edition of the Oxford Learners Dictionary is said to be the government of the people elected by the people for the people. A situation were Leaders are elected through the ballot.
Three tiers of government are recognized to be the federal, state and local governments. Three arms of government exist in Nigeria, the executive, judiciary and the legislative arm of respectively.
From Sulaiman Nasiru article on Nigeria and her democracy, he said “certainly the present situation in Nigeria was not what our founding fathers dreamt of, they never envisaged a nation with many troubles like what we are witnessing today, yes it is true that the marriage that brought us together was hastily arranged without due consideration of many factors”.
We cannot talk about the disturbing issues in our democracy without talking about the big monster corruption and abuse of public office. The active actors like the arms and tiers of government live extravagant and glamorous life styles. Having an empire of resources and a huge poor followership. This people have their own democratic norms and believes saying the majority will always have their say but the minority will always have their way.
We call on all well-meaning Nigerians who are the true custodians of our democracy to vote wisely and make sure their votes count. In the words of Dr Ken Ken Saro-Wiwa that says a denial of right is a call for fight we urge all true democrats to entrench the fundamental rights of us all.
The democratic rascality practised in our beloved country should be done away with as the concept of democracy should be practised holistically. Let our standard of living reflect the true practise of democracy and let us all be a participatory in our democracy.

This long 'essay' of yours is not necessary. Nigeria is a 102 year old fraud that was was foisted on the indigenous people of West Africa. That scam is coming to an end. It is time to hold a referendum so that the people can have the opportunity to say who they are. A right that the likes of Lord Lugard and Gowon used military force to deny the people.

Change of attitude is the solution.
