Webmasters / Re: Please I Need A Cheap Reliable Web Host by TalkWeb44: 2:25pm On Nov 20, 2015
What is your experience with web hosting? Can you manage your own hosting or you need your hosting company to handle management? The type of content you are hosting also matter.

Inasmuch as I sympathize with the OP, there is somethng to learn here so we all don't fall victims. If someone hacked into his account and used it to buy OP's bitcoins,
1) how did the hacker get "token number" because token number are sent to the owners mobile number. Its a new way to checkmate hacking activity.

2) If we are to do Online transaction like this , to prevent such occurences. Are we to ask for BVN first? What is the Plan B so pple like Op don't fall for such scam again.

Pls I need answers, its not okay to advise OP. We also need to learn. We shouldn't be Ignorant of the devices of the devil says the Holy book.

Someone that has 5 minute access to your system or your mobile devices can use it to make fraudulent transaction, Virus and phishing website can make attacker take over your system and gain access to important information needed for online transfer. If you are selling online the first thing is to identify the nature of your product, If your product is digital and is not reversible then you have to be extremely careful.

I can not buy product worth N100, 000 from any website i have not do business with in the past especially if the site is not popular brand (like yahoo, google, paypal etc). Buyer willing to risk lot of cash on your digital product might be a scammer. Ensure the name use on your site match his ID and match the name in the bank use in sending payment, check the phone line can be reached. While you are still on this verification the true owner of account might report fraud and you can help the security agencies by providing information you have gathered so far about the fraudster. Be truthful to your business, if your user is not willing or not meeting up with validation process after 3 days forward cash back to the account use for payment.

If your account is compromise and hacker/scammer make a transfer from your account you have very right to contact your bank and activate charge back. FCMB activate charge back of fund and UBA prevent you to withdrawing same cash so they can send money back to FCMB.

As e-currency exchanger always note that if you want to be successful business KYC (Know Your Customer) is very important especially for first time customer who are willing to exchange / order product with higher value (Yes... hacker / spammer wants big money). Slow them down, ask for their ID , address proof and if you are in doubt refund them and refuse to do business.

If what happen to you happen to Jumia or Konga they will refuse to ship product or take police to where product was ship to initiate arrest but you can not do this, your product is virtual and from your intro you have nothing to track your customer you only do business base of phone call you receive and for the fact that you see alert. I don't think any court will sanction any bank for activating charge bark or reverse a transaction they mark as fraud, they refund cash back to your customer and you can use the information you have about your customer to get back to him and ask for your cash and if you need help from your bank to track down your customer because your business lack KYC then you have to talk to UBA and FCMB. Your request from bank is a huge favour because they also have privacy policy not to disclose banking information to 3rd party so apply wisdom while doing it.

Religion / Re: Crossover Service: Nigerians Blast Chris Oyakhilome Over Gate Fees by TalkWeb44: 4:18pm On Jan 06, 2015
The Church broadcast this program live via satellite at every branch of the church free. The program was live online (http://www.pastorchrisonline.org/livestreaming/newyearservice) I personally join the program from my room via DSTV (channels tv and AIT). 80% of those at the venue got the ticket free, paid for by mature members who know what it means to promote the gospel.

If this church lock down ikeja like Lagos Ibadan express road during Good Friday (http://uspeakoutnow./2009/06/10/pastor-chris-oyakhilome-definately-a-crowd-magnet/) you guys will still curse this man. Take it or leave it, Pastor is a crowd magnet and since 2009 the church has being doing it best to control crowd.
The Church has make provision for everyone to be part of the program, internet , satellite broadcast on every local branches , internet streaming so it is not no money no access as many people here seems to tag the program.

Religion / Re: Pastor-Chris Erects Massive Billboard Of Professions by TalkWeb44: 12:20pm On Aug 24, 2012
Claus: The bottom right corner of the billboard says happy birthday. His birthday's in December, so this must have been a while ago. I'm surprised no one noticed till now.

It's obviously a birthday message to him, so unlikely to have been created or sanctioned under his authority. However, it appears to have been created by members who aren't even paying attention to the teachings in their own church. I was a CE member for a few years and it was often repeated that if you refuse to obey God's instructions/calling it's to your own detriment. God would always find someone else to do it.

So according to that teaching, the answer to the question of where they would have been if pastor Chris had another profession is: in exactly the same place, erecting a billboard about another pastor!

Who cares! guys wait in here to talk about any topic .. am sure you will have version 2 tomorrow... pastor Chris image PHOTOSHOP! meaning.. a wise soul should mind what he says in here

Billyonaire, I feel you bro - god of Man (goM) Chris breaks it down in a language you understand, hence your preference for his teachings.
I know you are easily given to bombast, so shall refrain from passing any more judgement on your earlier comment which locates this pastor and "enlightenment" in the same sentence grin

Am sure some people wants to stone Jesus too when he said "I and my Father are one" equating himself with God! but you don't keep giving what belong to a child to a dog because he can not just comprehend it!

If Nigeria is Lagos, Ibadan , Abuja and PH I will agree we have the fastest in Africa. I often browse in IB and friend using same network in Abeokuta will not be able to connect grin grin

It boils down to how the nation telecom is wired.... more solution where they can get more subscribers......

Webmasters / Re: Voguepay is Processing!!! by TalkWeb44: 5:30pm On Aug 16, 2012
lojik: When we approached interswitch for Aggregator license, they said it was technically impossible to give us the license. We spent about 3 months on that issue. GTB agreed to push the license for us so we went through GTB.

The transaction failed messages that occur once in a while is from Interswitch and partner banks. Anytime there is a complaint, we contact Interswitch directly. There has been no time that the issue was blamed on GTPay. I have stated on this forum before that we've held meetings with Interswitch on this issue and they didn't blame it on GTPay. The situation is not VoguePay specific but it became an issue on VoguePay because of the high volume of transactions VoguePay processes.

We have completed our direct integration with Interswitch but we are waiting for approval. Even when we finally integrate directly, it does not solve the switching problem. The problem has to be solved by Interswitch and partner banks. Not us or GTPay.

Pending is when your client initiates a payment but does not enter his card details.
Failed is when your client completes a transaction but Interswitch says the transaction did not succeed.
Approved is when your client completes a transaction and Interswitch says it is successful.

Please, stop pasting VoguePay's password protected contents on a public forum. That chart is only accessible to the appropriate VoguePay account owner but it is not the account owner's property and pasting it on a public forum violates VoguePay's Terms and conditions.

Create forum for your customer to share experience, it will help your business and other experience user can help new customer instead of customer coming to public forum to get your attention. And you can only teach us what we did not know, it will be difficult for you to explain what I already have knowledge of. You are under GTPAY and to them you direct your complain.

The pending and failed transaction is not the problem of your customer, why do you show them failed and pending transaction? I understanding you keep those records for validation purpose but it should be for you only. When I enter paypal, liberty , perfect money etc.. all I want to see is those that paid to my account not those that attempt to pay.. they are of no use .. it will only create confusion.

abhosts:

We are learning everyday. Please could you explain why Direct Interswitch Merchants that use Webpay on their sites did not experience the same during that period?

My Rational is simple:

Aggregate Gateway >>> GTpay >>> Interswitch can not be the same as hooking up to Interswitch Directly. Please note that I am in no way criticizing the Aggregate guys that are making online payment more accessible to smaller sites. I think they are doing a good job.

Why should you argue over this? What is your probability of getting error when you deal 1-1 and when you deal 1-1-1 it can never give you same result .. 1-1 is better.
Webmasters / Re: Voguepay is Processing!!! by TalkWeb44: 6:20pm On Aug 15, 2012
ActiveMan:

I agree with abhosts on this one.

they are 4 servers involve here and anything can happen in btw the server connnection

THE CLIENT >>>>> VOGUEPAY >>>>>> GTPAY >>>>>> INTERSWITCH

THE PROBLEM CAN BE FROM ANY OF THE LAST 3

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE CONNECTION BTW GTPAY AND INTERSWITCH FAILS? WHAT IS VOGUEPAY GOING TO WORK WITH?

BACK TO THIS ISSUE.

i'm not putting any blame on VOGUEPAY they are doing a great job to come up with this, but they should please consider that they are highrisk company because they deal with MONEY.

but i am sure if voguepay goes directly to interswitch the problem will be minimize. because i see a problem with GTPAY.

please check out the percentage in the picture below. (i should not have do this), but this recent week he bi like something else

Your graph already indicate they have problem.........WHAT IS "PENDING?" ... how did they treat the percentage of pending payment ? i guess they confirm it manually each time they receive alert from their bank..grin If your site is code in php then /* */ round their payment script until you confirm the system is perfect again. Customer will hold you responsible not your processor. some of us don't know what is call processor we only care about where we buy service grin grin grin

When you talk about good service size is not involve, the same way you can have 80 years old baby you can also have a big for nothing film. For days now ActiveMan make a report about so call biggest host company in nigeria and not even a single representative of the company have come here to say a word about the issue. ActiveMan has not even tell us they sent any mail about the issue.

Forget about the size of the company , Web4Africa come here and tell us your side of this story and explain to us why we see site in cpanel screen shot and you can not find the same account on your drives, ActiveMan if you have not tell them about this post send them the link now, We are all waiting for web4africa

this one just caught me

PLEASE GIVE ME MY BACK UP OH,

This is what normally follow issues such as this. Nobody expect site such as yours to go offline due to such minor issue between you and host. I was forced to register and start posting when i see the domain name of the site involve. Your site is one site i follow so i know what is at stake when you beg instead of fight smiley.

The screen shot you post shows that your site is intact on the host server, WHM is well know and trusted (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPanel) . Cpanel says your file is with them and also let us know the disc quota you have consume with your files , if there is any issue between you and web4africa he should come out openly and tell us here. That is why i said a copy of all complains should go to him, If management is serious about growth they should not wait this long to clarify issues like this.

you should be lucky you have more than one site host with the company, am sure that is why it is very difficult for them to erase evidence,

Dual Core:

This is a wrong assertion and if we go by it, it would mean all Nigerian host service providers are resellers or what you call super resellers and that's wrong.
You don't need to have servers sitting in the same geographical location as you for you to manage/admin them. No serious host firm will have its servers sitting in an office in its office complex. They either get their own datacenter, collocate their servers in a datacenter or lease the servers of the datacenters. In all 3 cases they have full access to the servers and are not resellers or super resellers.

So, just cuz we don't have datacenters in Nigeria doesn't mean we cannot own servers and admin them remotely as is a general practice worldwide.

I am in no way endorsing any host service provider, I speak from a neutral point.
As for the guy advertising, you can do better than this. Don't look for people's downfalls to step on.

I like to focus on issues that concerns me. Where you host, the location of your data center  is non of my business, i don't have any issue with Nigeria hosting company, Popular hosting company now give customer choice of selecting data center of choice. More center choice the more opportunity to sell to wide range of customer.

My comment is simple to understand, i only talk the caution advertiser wisely , not wasting time to copy their user id, registration time and number of post,

"If you have offer open trend for it",

Obviously most web designers still haven't got the tricks of most web hosting company's, they promise you heavens and the earths and immediately you engage yourself in, they will mess you up big time, yet many of you still stick with them, crying and dying in silence. Why not give this hosting company a try and see what they have in stock. www.ihostafrica.com

I don't know the point you are driving , am sure you join forum anytime you like and i don't think there is any tag on this trend that only old members should post. What am saying is simple for you to understand screen shot shows that site is very active on Web4Africa server so file should go to the right owner. We are not talking about critical server break down here ,
Webmasters / Re: Please Help Me Beg Web4Africa.Net by TalkWeb44: 12:59pm On Jul 28, 2011
Seun:

Don't listen to Dual Core.  He's a nice guy, but he's also a web host and he's
trying to create FUD to discourage his own customers from coming here to complain.

You were wronged.  What they did to you is not right.   Yes, you made one or two
mistakes and yes they probably have a TOS that absolves them of any damages,
but the issue of legality and the issue of ethics and morald are completely different.

This is not a matter of personal pity or feelings, i don't care if the site concern is struggling to grow, growing , or just one day old. What is at stake here is normal rules and regulation attached to web hosting. If the Customer with this post is able to login into his reseller package with web for Africa it show that his contract for hosting with them is still valid. If for any reason  hosting company and client disagree then host should give backup to the Customer or allow Customer  to move his site within a specified period of time. Web for Africa is like a bank to Customer a data bank, and they have to give it to rightful owner if need be.

In case of critical server break down where data can not be recover we can all blame the guy for not backing up but from the screen shot provided you can see that the domain involve has file in it, it is only deactivated by server admin for reason best know to him.

WEB FOR AFRICA , DATA IS MORE VALUABLE THAN PHYSICAL COIN , GIVE DATA TO THE OWNER ,  BUILD A POSITIVE NAME , DO NOT FORCE CUSTOMER TO GET BIGGER QUOTA LIKE SO MANY SUPPER LOCAL RESELLERS,
