Hello Mamas - A Dad in here, hope I'm welcomed? My young man just clocked 1yr, he had some serious "eela" not long after birth and that took a while - thanks to Aveeno and a bit of the red leaves, all is cleared now less a couple of spots. However, his hair has never really grown since the little ones got chopped off by "eela and cradle cap". Any idea of cream to use or steps to take to increase his hair growth?

Doing that is important and you also need to supply financial documents to support money in her account and not just explanation alone.

Thanks fof the response Justwise, Can we re apply with just one bank statement and not 2 bank statements used in the refused application. Reason is I just scanned through her gtb statement where there were some deposits/withdrawals from local contributions...not sure how that can be explained and also some random financial gifts

Does she need a new set of docs, her bank statement and my bank statements as the sponsor?

- Does she need a new invitation letter from me as we stated in her application she'll depart Nigeria Nov 18. I actually invited her over to celebrate her 65th Birthday with my family nextweek.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone assist to review this refusal letter for my mum, She applied on the 1st of Nov and picked up today

1.) She provided a GT savings acct which has a balance of abt 200k which I sent to her in July. She mistakenly missed a cover letter explaining I transferred this to her.
2.) And also a Zenith Bank where she receives her monthly pension (73k), This was was stated as her monthly income in the application, the only unexplained remit in the account is about N1,435 which she paid in herself before printing her statement (wondered why she did that though).

So my Questions are
- is it advisable to apply asap (this coming week) with a cover letter explaining the above transactions, also with a transaction statement from me showing I transferred 200k in July?

- Does she need a new set of docs, her bank statement and my bank statements as the sponsor?

- Does she need a new invitation letter from me as we stated in her application she'll depart Nigeria Nov 18. I actually invited her over to celebrate her 65th Birthday with my family nextweek.

Hi Guys,

Good job on the work here guys!!! I currently reside in the UK and intend to invite my mum over as i just had a baby. Mum is retired with a monthly pension of around 80k, that means she can't sponsor herself. I intend to send my savings bank statement with £4k+ for her application. She has previously visited UK during my graduation a couple of years back

1.) Do we still need to include her bank statement - to show her monthly income (Does this prove ties to home country?)
2.) Any idea how much the ECO will be looking for as maintenance for 2 months stay?
3.) Are the below list of docs good to go? any other docs to add?
- Mum's monthly statement
- Pension letter/docs to show she's retired
- My bank statement
- Invitation letter from myself
- Rental agreement here in UK
- My payslips
- wifey's payslips

Regards

Thanks for the replies guys, really appreciate!!! Just the final bit.

I have 3 months left on my current work visa and ready to renew

- Is it advisable to invite mum while I have 3 months left on my visa or renew my visa first before inviting
- I haven't updated my bank with my new address, so the statement I intend to send to her has my old address while rental agreement has new address. Could this be an issue?

Brightingsus:

1. Yes, you would still need to include her bank statements. This is part of home ties though it may not be exhaustive enough. Consider including evidence of other family ties she has in Nigeria, e.g. If u have other siblings in Nigeria.
2. I do not know this as you are acting as the sponsor. People that usually quote maintenance costs are applicants sponsoring themselves. I think the ECO may decide your capacity to maintain your mum throughout the duration of her stay from your bank statements. Also consider the sponsorship maintenance form.
3. Those documents are good but not enough...

There is nothing listed as evidence of your relationship with your mum. Let me ask, are you male or female though. You said you had a baby, I was thinking you female. But you included your wife's payslips so I think you are male. Lol.

You also need:
I. Your passport biodata and visa page (or British passport if you are British)
II. Utility bills which is stronger than bank statement for proof of address
III. Perhaps your birth certificate which can link to your mum's passport suggesting she's your mother
IV. Evidence of communication with your mother like emails, chats and calls
V. You could include pictures of you and mum albeit there is a clause that this might not be considered in deciding your application.

**Others can also contribute to your question**

I'm male...lol

"Lust
It just sort of happened all at once. Once the stone got rolling, it was all downhill from there. An accidental picture on Facebook, then a quick detour to get shawarma turned into an afternoon spent splayed out naked on the fully reclined passenger seat of a red Mercedes, breathlessly steaming up the windows as my toes struggled not to accidentally turn off the AC or change the radio station."

I’m still totally waiting to hear your reasons!

As for being splayed out in the Mercedez, that ended up happening a lot with him. We had sex in his car almost every night. Maybe it was me being a teenager and not having a place to go for privacy, so I made him park his car down dark streets all over Abuja and turn the AC up which steamed up the windows while we had sex in the reclined seats.

A.) How long does it take to get the TB test result in Lagos?

After printing the online form and getting all the docs together.

B.) Which address do you write on the envelope?

C.) Should the envelope containing the form & docs be sealed before getting to VFS for submission?

Thanks

Family / Re: Tell Us About Your Marriage by teeewai(m): 1:52am On Sep 29, 2011
serubawon:

I'd like to know more about Nairaland members who are married!  If you're married, we want to know things like:
- How you met your husband or wife.
- What attracted you to your husband or wife.
- Who proposed marriage, and how.
- Who opposed the marriage, and how you prevailed.
- The wedding, and the honeymoon Kiss
- DO you think you made a mistake choosing your partner?
- How often you're tempted to be unfaithful and how often you fall Grin.
- How long you think the marriage will last.

First time seeing this thread.  Would have contributed earlier.

I met my wife at a singles fellowship I was attending in Nigeria.  My best friend (who was later my best man) told me that could we give someone a lift on our way home from the service.  Since she lived along my way home, I said ok.  When she got into the car, the 1st thing I noticed about her was that she was very dark skinned (which at the time was contrary to my preferences).  We dropped her off and that was that.  As time went on, she was a regular passenger and we quickly became friends.  The friendship grew over a period of a year and we were almost inseparable.  The funny thing was that throughout this time, I never saw her as more than my best pal.  There were a lot of guys who were 'toasting' all the time and it never bothered me.  I would tell her that I would be the judge of all the toasters sine I was a guy and I knew what they actually wanted.

About a year into our friendship, my mother called me and said she had been having a strange dream recently.  She said she saw me looking for something, but what I was looking for was right beside me, but I didn't know.  She asked if I was dating anybody to which I answered  'no'.  At that time, I wasn't dating at all and my mom was bothered because I'm the only son and the 1st born.  After really bothering me, I told my mom that there was no special person.  The only person I was seeing regularly was this lady, but there was absolutely nothing between us.  She insisted on knowing her name and where she came from.  I told her and soon after that she told me to pray about her, as she is more special than I think.  Anytime we went out, people would ask us if we were engaged and we would both say no without any reservations.  Soon after, I told my best friend what my mom said and he told that as far as he was concerned, i was the dumbest smart person he knew.  Couldn't I see that we were made for each other?  It was at that time that I started to look at her differently and the first time I realized she was beautiful.  Over the next 3 months, I started becoming awkward with her because instead of seeing a basic friend, I was now seeing someone that evoked a torrent of emotions and I was not comfortable with her anymore.  She noticed this and asked what was wrong and I had no reasonable answer.  After serious fasting and prayer, I decided to be brave and tell her how I felt.  My crazy experience can be seen in my post on another thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=720.msg574065#msg574065

We got married and for 6 years, it was the most beautiful experience (both the good and the bad).  There was no opposition from anyone.  Our wedding was a pretty big one and it looked like the whole of Nigeria was in attendance.  Temptation?  So many, but I never even thought of cheating once because I was married to the most beautiful and wonderful woman in existence.  Mistake? absolutely not.  She was my true soul mate.

How long it would last?  I'm sure it would have lasted forever, but sadly she passed away on xmas eve in 2004 and I haven't remarried.  I haven't met anyone that even measures up to her.  I have a thread 'Adjusting to life as a Widower' - https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=20511.msg562123#msg562123, where I put my various experiences since then.  The thread is about 5 years old now and still on.

When you meet 'The One', you'll know without a doubt.  Make it last and make it count, because you never know how much time you have.

Waoooh enjoying the sweet story until i read the very SAD line. Much strength is all i wish for you !!!
