“This man should not just be sacrificed like that. He is not fighting a personal battle. He is on a mission to rescue Nigeria from the abyss of moral debauchery. He is fighting for both the present and future generations. Corruption must not be allowed to win the battle. Nigerians will lose hope in this war if the arrowhead is eliminated. We believe it is high time FG read the riot act to the security agencies. Heads must roll if anything happens to Magu.” Too many bigots and biased people on Nairaland. Read again and this time with conciousness and not with your pre-programmed judgmental mind filled with bias and hate against anything that mentions muslim or islam. *kmt* Man simply implies security agency personnels charged with his protection must be held accountable and possibly sacked if anything happens to Magu; if they happen to have been complicit or found wanting in the discharge of their duties of course. Common figure of speech. Too much hate amongst us, its sickening, we can’d move fwd as a nation like this. Smh Nairaland, please regulate polarizing and misleading headlines like this. Its a great platform and should not be used to spread hate and ignorance. |
Events / Re: Kiss Between Islamic Scholar & His Bride At Their Wedding Sparks Outrage (Photos by terefe(m): 8:31pm On Dec 11, 2017 |
Wow.. there’s so much hate and or do we call it ignorance against people of other religions in Nigeria fa. A ‘muslim does anything and everyone begins to defame, insult or make fun of them. What you know but don’t want to acknowledge is that every action/inaction of a person is based on a certain belief. If you cant appreciate and accept it, no wahala but at least respect it as long as it does you no harm to you. People shouting hypocrisy up and down like they dont even know what it means. Muslims are not saints, the belief system is just conservative in the light of what exists today. Difference is muslims try as much as possible to keep up with the moral standards that has been set by the religion, but when we fail to that, its perfectly normal and our Allah recognizes that. It doesnt make us hypocrites, rather humans. A muslim is not the perfect one but one who when he falls short of expectations, recognizes it and returns to Allah even if its a million times. It is unfair that so much negative labels are being attached to a people just because of their belief. Sadly the same person you label is probably the same person you commute, dine, trade and interact with on a daily. You smile at him in his face and then call him a hypocrite on Nairaland, Live and let live. 1 Like |
Education / Re: UNILAG Student Rusticated For Twerking With The Statue Of Former VC by terefe(m): 12:09am On Oct 09, 2017 |
Leaving the issue of wether her actions warranted the punishment. We young ones pretty much have lost a lot of regard/respect for authorities, symbols. Granted its just a statue, but its definitely more than steel and concrete, it represents the struggle and hardwork of people that have made the opportunities, however limited that we have today possible. Discipline in mind and actions is what makes a society great, but we the young ones today seem to be losing that, we just want to live with regard to only our base desires and are willing to do anything to trend on social media and get our 15 seconds of fame. Channel your energy to create lasting positive impressions rather than displaying one corner madness ‘who madness epp’. If people like the VC had spent their youth pissing on the foundations they met on ground and built upon, ask yourself, would you even be in the university? What would the future generations look back and reference you with? 1 Like |

If you want to empower women, give them support to showcase their productivity not hook them like dogs. I don't get how that signifies empowerment. You may say its freedom of expression, butbeven with that, we shouldn't act like we want to return to d days of colonial slavery all in d name of foe. |

Smh. In a country where youth unemployment is at an all time high, maternal mortality is high, insecurity, poor infrastructure and the myriad of other issues, and this is the sort of challenges we have relegated ourselves to, chaining eachother as dogs, to prove what point! What happened to promoting hashtags like #learnaskilltoday #helpafellowout #comeupwithabusinessplanin24hrs #earnalegit2000today. Its okay to have fun but is just misplacing priorities and i think our creativity should be channeled towards more productive areas 1 Like |
