Business / Re: Help! Hotel Business Advice Needed by thebay512: 10:56pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
meetagape: My advice is to buy rather than build. There are lots of new, existing and uncompleted hotels everywhere for sale. Thanks for your advice. However, buying an existing hotel is not something we would consider under any circumstance. |

ogunsam75: Hotel business is profitable business in Nigeria, especially in Lagos, I don't know in any other state,, I live around Lekki and I can tell u categorically, that is a wise investment to build hotel with club and gym facilities. But to be honest with you, that budgeted amount can not build it. Do your feasibility study before you venture into any business in Nigeria. Goodluck Thanks for your input. But, since you suggested we review our budget, could you shed more light on the range of budget you think might pull this off. Thanks again! |

My Dear Nlndrs: A family member abroad has approached me with a proposed investment to build an hotel in Nigeria. We propose to build a boutique hotel of at least 35 rooms. Our proposed budget is N150m whill will include the land (1500m2 to 2500m2), and the Hotel (about 35 rooms + event hall, conference room and gym). My humble questions are; 1. Between Lagos(Lekki Axis), Owerri, Enugu, PH and Uyo, which do you think is more strategic and feasible given our budget N150m, and market demand? 2. Do you think our budget N150m is adequate? 3. Do you think it's a good idea to include a night club in the hotel? I'll also very much appreciate anyother advice you can offer apart from my questions. Thank you all and God bless! |

Please enlighten me; where are Dangote's investments and where is he from, MTN, Shoprite, Etisalat etc where are they all from? Abiola (May his soul rest in Peace) has investments all over Nigeria and beyond, including Enugu and PH. Alhaji Kazaure has one of the biggest rice Farm/milling establishment in Adani (Anambra state), he also has a house there where he stays when he comes. People from all over the world are still investing in Afghanistan (a war region) as we speak. Bolingo (May his soul rest in peace) was one of the largest real estate owners in the former 'East Germany' before they rejoined 'West Germany' to become one country and he reapead handsomely afterwards. Bottom line - You guys should reason beyond this your ignorant tribal sentiments and focus on what is actually ailing Nigeria, which includes CORRUPTION AND IGNORANCE. @OP You can market your property better and devoid of this tribal distraction and fear mongering because you do have a good product, simple! Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Efik, Ibibio, Ghana, Togo etc, anyone can buy there and benefit from it either as an investment or personal use. I will get one or more myself for my family for the future, but NOT because of your tactic and NOT from you (You have a wrong and short-sighted mindset). Goodluck! |
