Religion / Re: Why Are You An Atheist? by TheBigUrban2: 10:22pm On Aug 27, 2014
FOLYKAZE:

Mr. . . . . You think you can hide behind lies and arrogance? So you think you would ignore me because you are exposed? This will not stop me from showing you who you're.

We have to redefine what atheism is. Going by what you have up there, atheism should be disbelieve in theistic God but believe in pantheistic, spinoza, panentheistic and other connception of God. . . .including social (admired person) or creative art (theatre gallery) definition of God.

If atheism is defined as that, it is then no more atheism but anti-theism. . ..

Now you know where you belong. . . .not really an atheist you claim to be but an anti-theist. . . .or probably hatheist who just love to hate everything theistic or God.

Banning me is the only tactic they have left (after insults, name calling and trolling)

I wish I can say I feel your pain, but I don't. Your problem is you keep harping on "show me from Qur'an/Hadith where Islamic economics is" like you were told Qur'an/Hadith are Economic textbooks.

You've been given links, videos. Yet, you're still not satisfied. If Oliver Twist happened to meet you, I'm sure he'd tell you to put a lid on it.

Your comment about someone reading the discussion and losing faith shows you aren't here to learn or dialogue objectively; rather you're on a mischief mission. I think you've been indulged enough.

Beat it.

The links, books, videos on islamic economics all have to be backed by the Quran/hadith. Or are you guys now islamic without the Quran

I read 4 links of long winded articles that had little or no backing from the Quran/Hadith. Even when they did quote the Quran, it was about simple trading ethics- "dont charge interest", "dont cheat", "no usury". smh

Do you really think I am the one being pained here? You and your fellow muslim brethren have resorted to name calling when they have been proven to be baseless on islamic economics. The keep shooting themselves in the foot with their own guns

Now I see why some folks ignore you sometimes. There are those who enbrace Islam purely by doing lots of research before being convinced and becoming muslims. Onus is on you to research. Period

As for Islam, Nigeria and African history mentioned above, if you can not understand I was talking about a thread you opened (which is now closed), then how are you going to understand Islam and economics. I didnt want to post twice that's why i made it 2 in 1. Haba, is that difficult to understand?

People ignore me and I ignore some people. That is life.

Some people hate the truth.

The truth, as i have said before, is that there is nothing like islamic economics. There is no economic system the Quran or Hadith.

Modern economics came a 1000 years after islam. Fact. 6th century till 18th century

you can only prove me wrong with direct quotes from the Quran or Hadith

Then I cant help you then. I sent some links earlier you complained. At least I read the first two links. And the 3rd one which included videos, I have been watching them for yrs. The link included (Modern economy and Islam, Islam and monetary system, Islam, modern economy and usury and so fourth, Islamic economic system). Another video in link titled "Basirat" on Banking and finance and riba-economy. YOu replied within very short period that you wen through everything and you want me to take you seriously?.

And these links you complain as well. If you are not satisfied, then it takes a man like you to work hard earn scholarship title. We are in modern world where information are easily accessible. It's called research. You are the one seeking knowledge on this so be our guess my friend.

You problem is you think that a muslim perhaps with beards have no clue technology, economics etc. You just wrong. I also read your now closed thread something like what Islam brought to Nigeria?. Albaqir really dealt with you bad. He shut you up. You are only being driven by hate and ignorant. You can do better by research instead criticizing everything Islamic. I recommend you learn history of Islam in Nigeria (and Africa) by Sheik Abdullah Akeem Quick. He's vast in African and Aboriginal history.

I asked you to show me economics in the Quran/hadith and you are telling me nonsense about African history?

Show me quotes from the Quran/Hadith that can be used to run a nation's economy.

Budgets, balance of trade, inflation, deflation, etc

Religion / Re: Does Christainity Encourage Intolerance And Arrogance? by TheBigUrban2: 6:31pm On Aug 27, 2014
Hehe...

All Abrahamic religions can make you arrogant and intolerant....depending on how you practice it.

If you take a conservative approach to christianity and islam, you will become a full time bigot because you will naturally believe that there is only one God (your Allah/Yaweh) and only one truth (through Moses/Jesus/Muhammad). A Jew will reject Jesus as a heretic. A christian will reject Judaism and the law of Moses as the outdated scriptures/convenant. A muslim will reject the bible as a corrupted holy book.

In short, the conservative would take his religion to be the only truth, hence, other religions, gods or practises are false.

A liberal approach to christianity and islam is far better. This because while you believe in your holy books or prophets, you accept that your truth is not the only way to God. There are many ways to God- all that one needs is the love of God's creations. You respect your religion and give people the chance to practice theirs without your judgement.

Unfortuantely, there are very few liberal christians/muslims
========================================================

Arrogance
-a show of self superiority. Unnecessarily acting better than others

I honestly dont think you should expect me to write a book here just because i want to satisfy your thirst. Well, there are books written on Islamic economics by Islamic scholars of past(19cent) and present. See if you can find these books and read them.

***First Principles of Islamic Economics by Sayyid Abul A'la Mawdudi

***An Introduction to Islamic Economics by Muhammad Akram Khan

***Economic Justice in Islam by S.M. Yusuf

***Islam, Economics, and Society (RLE Politics of Islam) by Syed Nawab Haider Naqvi (this book is expensive).

***Islam And Economics by Imran Hussein (this is in one of the videos I gave you earlier. Also a book is written on it).

Dont point me to books you havent read and do not understand.

Point me to the Quran.....those books at the end of the day have to have Quranic/hadith backing to be useful

Maclatunji, Deols, Mukina2.

See yourselves?

If a christian opens a thread titled "contradictions in the Quran", two things are likely to happen

1) The thread gets moved to the islam section if it is in the religion section

2) The christian op will probably get banned in the islam section for "rule 2" or "trolling"

But no when it is the other way around (i.e. a muslim op with a thread "contradictions in the bible), the thread gets left to fester itself with e-wars between members of the two religion

MrAnony1:

4. You claim that how the universe works is not orderly. This seems weird to me because I know that you subscribe to a naturalist worldview and you reject anything which you believe goes contrary to the laws of physics, if the universe is chaotic as you claim, then you must hold that at least certain parts of it defy physical laws hence you would be contradicting your worldview.

So as I said, The questions you have asked do not in anyway lead us to the answers that you seek. If you think that knowing the answer to the age of Nairaland and the programming language of Nairaland proves that one is a creator, then you must also hold that if you know the age of the earth and that the sun is powered by nuclear fusion then you must have created the universe. How you can't see that your error in your questions beats me.

Wow, just look at the nonsense argument in bold.

1) First, he strawmans the atheists' argument by claiming that the atheists claim that the universe is not orderly. The atheists' claim is that either
a) the universe just has a series of events- some which we perceive as order and some which we see as chaotic
b) there is equal order and chaos in the universe.

2) Secondly, note how he is implying out of ignorance that the laws of physics are absolute in the universe. The laws of physics do not apply everywhere in the universe. On the quantum level, the laws change or are even non-existent. Gravity is different on different planets. We have blackholes and dark matter.

It is high time Plaetton, Mazaje, Weigraf and co start treating this Anony guy as a joke. We keep giving credibility to his nonsense. A philosophical Joshthefirst if you ask me
Religion / Re: Why Are You An Atheist? by TheBigUrban2: 7:39am On Aug 27, 2014
MrAnony1:

You miss the point totally (even though I highlighted it in bold):

1. Asking Seun when he created Nairaland already assumes that Nairaland has a creator called Seun even before engaging with the data before you. This is begging the question.

2. Whether Seun chooses to answer or not tells us absolutely nothing about whether he is the creator of Nairaland. I hope you are not suggesting that if Seun decides not to answer your question then it proves that he didn't create nairaland.

3. Asking for the sort of trademark that is on Nairaland to be on the universe simply shows me that you are not prepared to discuss rationally.

Is Anony still peddling the false argument that one cant prove that Seun is the owner of Nairaland? Is this guy so dense?

I blame myself and any other atheist that gives this guy the audience to say these things. We should be treating him like Olaadegbu.
