ikemummy: Temporary residents but son is a student in Canada. Used old portal July 3rd, 2020, reapplied on the new portal one month ago. If you have a pending application on the old portal and you're eligible to travel (PR family or temporary resident family), please reapply using the new portal and reference your client ID of the old application. Wish others expecting good luck. 2 Likes |

Quick question: I learnt that TLS Victoria Island charges 55 pounds extra but do they have self-upload services to upload ones documents? Don't want to pick VI then have to pay for assisted upload! Thanks in anticipation of your responses. |

Guru in the house, My son is a student in Canada. My wife had applied for visit visa since June, 2020 that was before my son travelled. Do we need to reapply for my wife since her situation has changed? Her request for travel authorization was declined: "Based on our assessment of your recent enquiry, we cannot process your request as you have not provided sufficient evidence that you meet an exemption criterion and/or that your travel to Canada is non-discretionary, per the travel restrictions implemented to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID‑19) in Canada. Even though you do not meet an exemption criterion and/or your travel has not been deemed non-discretionary, your application will now be put on hold until after the travel restriction pause has been lifted." I'm not sure what to do at this point. Kindly help! |

@All, my son's medical examination had expired due to Covid19 lockdown and travel restrictions. He has done another on June 11st in the UK but it appear the new medical is yet to reflect on Canada website. His status as shown below: What do I do now as he will be travelling early July. Do I need to send an email to the immigration or what? Also need the email address. Thanks!

@Guru in the house. My son will soon be travelling to Canada on Student visa. Below are my questions: 1. Do we need to pay his school fees prior to him leaving? 2. How much cash does he need to take along with him? 3. What are the likely questions they can ask him at the boarder? Will appreciate a quick response. Thank you! 7 Likes |

Chreze: Thank you! I appreciate your response. I called Emirates customer care and they confirm that Covid-19 test is not required. However, I got conflicting response at the Airport today where one staff said yes and the other said no. I called Emirates again, they told me no that we can check back tomorrow or Tuesday. Traveling Friday. Has anyone travelled recently, like in January on Emirates. |

Ukahh: You have a savings of 1.7m and your dad will sponsor you with 200k? Something is not adding up here. The budget looks okay if you will be staying in a hostel or staying with a friend or family. However, your budget is almost double your monthly salary. That's my only concern. I would not bring sponsorship into this equation. You only need a sponsor when you can't afford the trip in most cases. |

lantres000: Please give 6 months statement and explain the huge withdrawal and deposit. It will show on both accounts. Your application may be refused for submitting less than 6 months statement. If I were Eco, I will know you're trying to hide something and my decision will take that into consideration. Short answer: Don't do it, just explain the inflow. Good luck. |
