Hello everyone, Johnwray, Justwise,
I have a question, how long do I have to leave the country after receiving my visa. I am still waiting for my sons British passport. I would appreciate if anyone knows what I can do to fasten it,its been over 4months now.

I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me what to do.

Godspeed to those waiting to hear about their appeals.

Cheers and God bless.

Hey Johnwray, girlo,

Like Johnwray said, ur reason has to be really good for it to be expidited. I remember I had a high risk pregnancy and it wasn't good enough for the judge to have to expidite it... The 19weeks may seem long but it reduces daily....

Johnwray, thanks for yesterday. I have been told to call back next week for an update regarding the passport....

Hey Johnwray,

Thank you for the timely response. We applied for the babys passport on the 2nd of May, making it approx 6weeks now.we were told to contact them after a month, but do their numbers ever go thru?

We cldnt include my husbands british passport as he had to go back to the UK but the caseworker who attended to us looked at it, made a copy and returned.

Thank a mil Johnwray. Hope to read from u again shortly.

Morning everyone,

Here again with another type of frustration....

Lemme give a preamble: I went to the embassy after I gave birth to apply for a passport for my son but I still had my appeal pending then. I had to submit my passport and other documents for the process. The embassy (visa section)called me to bring in my passport as the decision had been overtunrned. I then told them I didn't have my passport with me as my passport was submitted inorder to get a British passport for my son. They said they would get back to me and they haven't. I then decided to call them and find out wats going on, only ffor me to be tossed around to various dept.

Anyway, what I'm trying to find out now is if anyone here knows how long it takes them to issue the passport.

Also if its possible to withdraw the passport application, get an entry clearance for my baby and then reapply for the passport when we get to the UK?

Hope to hear from y'all soon.

Thank you

Hello everyone,

I'm more of the quiet member. Like @lamosy said I didn't give them any breathing space. My husband and I called d UKBA everyday till our application was sent to Nigeria and I can tell u I called d BDHC everyweek till I got a response. Its so funny the lady who called to tell me to come collect my visa had to comment/commend my persistance. Truly, its an harrowing experience and I had to give birth here after my appeal for an expedited appeal was turned down.
Prayer and patience is key. As long as d reson for refusal is flimsy, one will eventually get called without having to go to hearing.

Thanks to lamosy who always encouraged me.

I am still on there case as I have applied for a British passport for my baby, so first thing on Monday I'm on the phone again.

The 19weeks might seem long but it will eventually come.

Thank u all and God bless.

@lamosy,
Thank u so much, ur response made me smile. We sent in the appeal 19th of Dec but fees was taken 21st of Dec, so I'm guessing I shld say 21st of Dec as d date of appeal. I think my husband received the letter saying 19weeks 3rd week in March. He then called d UKBA and was told that the appeal has been sent back to Nig.but as at yesterday BDHC had not received it. I'm goint to stop calling cos that just adds to my anxiety.
Baby is kicking o and I'm trying not to go mental waiting to hear from them becos 19weeks is a long time to wait.
I know God is faithful and He does only d best.

Thank u so much. Hope to read from you shortly.

Hello everyone, @lamosy

I'm new on this site. I got refused a settlement visa december last year. My husband is British and we decided to appeal. We got a letter from them recently saying that our appeal has been sent to BDHC and they have till June 26 to respond b4 it goes to tribunal. My lawyer, my husband and I have been calling d BDHC to find out if it has arrived in Nigeria cos we were told it was dispatched FEB 13, to my surprise it is yet to reach the BDHC. Please can you help with how long it takes for the ECM to review and give us a decision?

Lest I forget, I was refused cos we didn't put a letter from my husbands employer but its so funny cos his contract of employment was part of d documents sent.

I'm pregnant and baby is set to come soon. I'd appreciate advise, answers from all who can help.

Thank u.
