Politics / Re: What Has Nigeria Achieved So Far? by Tolaaaaannni(f): 3:20pm On Sep 30, 2012
Nigeria hasn't achieved a lot so far, but I believe it has a lot of potential to acheive more and we are going to get

there one day, be it divided or unitedly divided. Its just going to take some time. After all, it is a very young

country and it has had a lot of set backs compared to all the developed nations.

Culture / Re: Polyglots: How Many Languages Do You Speak? by Tolaaaaannni(f): 3:17am On Sep 30, 2012
I would say 2 and a half, since I don't consider pidgin a language but a dialect. I speak Yoruba, and English fluently. I

took some french lessons back in school but I'm not fluent though, Oh and i know a couple of hindi, bengali, arabic, urdu, twi, and swahili

words (through friends). and i can say hi and bye in spanish grin grin Those are pretty much my experience with languages,

they are very complex I must say. My main goal is to learn 2 other nigerian languages before I turn 30. *crossing fingers on that*

Use coconut oil, and shea butter. Mustard oil and Amla Oil is also very good for hair growth and softening hair. If you can't find

mustard oil, olive oil( The real oil in the bottle, and not the spray.) will also help
Foreign Affairs / Re: Why I Am Not Voting For President Obama by Tolaaaaannni(f): 3:18am On Sep 28, 2012
panafrican:
The best US president will be the one who can defeat Wall street. And I don't see Obama doing that.
Gas price will continue to go up every day . In 1996 people were paying on average $1.00 at the gas pump, today this average is around $4.10 meanwhile wages did not increase, moreover unemployment went up.
What has Obama changed ? Nothing !

Oh really, and it is obama's fault that the gas prices are the way they are?? shocked. I never knew obama owned an oil company.

Ileke-IdI:

lol when I first met my Ghanaian friend, I thought she was Yoruba because of that name.

Yoruba pronounce it as "ahdaylaheday"

Ghanaians pronounce it as "adayylayd"

Ikr I saw the name in my history book at one time and I always thought that it had something to do with the slave trade and maybe that was why people had that name. I later found out that it was a name of a capital city in south australia, but i still was curious about the name and why it had the same spelling as the yoruba name "laide".
slimyem: i know it sounds so Yoruba but i don't know of any links to yoruba ..

It is also the name of a city in South Australia with "noble kind" as meaning.
Its a derivative of germanic "Adal and heidis" which also means noble and kind.
All i know is its a sweet Italian name i'd have loved to have if i were Italian.

Yeah I knew this, but I didnt know why they had that name or if it had any connection to yorubaland..... So.. its german, thats interesting. I learned something new today. grin

slimyem: I'd definitely love to be an Italian...with a name like Adrianna or Irene or Adelaide.....cheesycheesycheesy
...the why should be obvious...cheesy
.
I know topic says African Countries...but it has to be my Nigeria or nothing else....or my Italia fantasies..

Isn't adelaide also a nigerian name, well yoruba ( Kind of makes me wonder if the italian version as a tie to yorubaland, or vice versa. Does it?? This is a question to any history junkie in the room!shocked Please feel free to answer.) So you don't have to be italian to get that name.

You probably didn't know that Nigeria has one of the best judiciary system in Africa.
Smh.

First of its called overexaggeration, I wasn't really being serious if I was I would have showed facts to back it up. And the bolded part is such a lie, that I am very sure of.

edelweiss: what is the essense of wasting time and energy to contribute when aanything we say isn't taken seriously? We can be constructive critics if only our words wld be taken seriously. Most of d comments I see here are very juvenile! I just read and smh. God blessed us with foresight, but I believe if people pay for advise then, the advise or words wld be taken seriously. Its a matter of choice,we wld never get banned for keeping silent, and I for one (a female)wld rather keep quiet than end up being abused.

One of the few logical comments on this thread thus far. undecided
