Kenyan protesters succeeded because they were organized, structured, and not motivated by tribe or politics. But in Nigeria, the reverse is the case.

Politics / Re: Abubakar Momoh: Niger Deltans Have No Cause To Protest Against Tinubu by Tom1960: 6:44am On Aug 01
After the 10-day protest, what next? Business as usual. I have said this time without numbers that Nigeria will never progress with the 1999 constitution as amended. The reason is because, it was not drafted with the interest of the general public. It encourages corruption, political rascality, impunity and recklessness. It is easily manipulated by the judiciary and politicians because of its opaque nature. What we need in Nigeria is total restructuring and a new people-oriented constitution. Tinubu is part of the problem not the whole problem of Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Momodu To Ayo Fayose: Let Us Accept We Have Failed This Country by Tom1960: 6:51am On Jul 31
There is no way Nigeria will operate with the 1999 constitution and succeed. Mark my words. It doesn't matter who is the president. The foundation/structure of Nigeria is faulty. So is everything about Nigeria.

Nigeria will be great again. The era of selection instead of election in the LGAs will soon be over. Any competent Nigerian should be able to win a local election with any party without the the anointing of a state governor.

As long as they have not been sacked by any court of competent jurisdiction and there is no court order stopping them from holding plenary, they remain valid lawmakers. For me, this case should be given an accelerated hearing to stop all these dramas going on in Rivers State.

Every Nigerian president uses ministerial position as a payback or reward for election support. Therefore, the chance of capable people who are not politicians getting appointment is slim. As long as this trend continues, we will never get much from our ministers or other public appointees.
