MayAmy:Hi, I'm also thinking of applying for the same problem for the fall session. Any luck in your application? Did you get in? |

Good afternoon Kalan,I am currently serving (NYSC) and my service year ends in November, but the deadline for the application is in August. Since one of the requirements for application is an NYSC certificate, is there a way in which i can still apply and submit my NYSC certificate when i get it in November |

Nigeria isn't even in the top 15 most corrupt African countries, why do you guys just make stuff up?? |

Why do citizens of West African countries and some other African countries still come to Nigeria for greener pastures and why do they see Nigeria as a country they can make it in?? i know compared to most countries Nigeria is an Haven, but Nigerians run away from the country any chance they get. I have met lots of Togolese, Ghanaian and Sierra Leoneans who come to work in Nigeria and try to send money back home. |

majamajic: Yes that is true, but those that mean it should eclipse our own tragedy. Even kids(and adults) born during that time don't even know what happened on 27 Jan, 2002. Our Television stations and radios don't cover it, but are quick to join in the remembrance of another countries tragedy. I guess their lives are more important than ours 1 Like |

Why do some Nigerians mourn or post condolences on twitter about the 9/11 incident but no one talks or even remember the Ikeja bomb blast in 2002, much less mourning their death?? Are Nigerian lives less than those of the USA?? Or am i missing something?? 1 Like |

On the contrary, he has helped millions of soul find their path to God, their lives might have become worse as a result and they might have become poorer, but that isn't the aim, the aim is to worship God.......suffer on earth and reap the benefits in heaven is the motto, though that doesn't apply to the leaders in the church. 1 Like 1 Share |

modelmike7: Any where close to a major market will do, though i would like to locate it at a place around or close to Surulere. |

drmikeadams: No, i have a restaurant chain idea in mind, that would work best in a place with heavy foot traffic, so Lagos is a more suitable location. |

baralatie: True, and this is mostly due to the fact that most indigenous companies are not receptive to research, i have no idea why. It just seems like they prefer to stick to what works or always work for them and therefore remain stagnant. or they just diversify into a different niche. One business that will strive well in the country is a Business development Company, i don't know why most people haven't considered this line of business. Anyways, i think we need to develop a strong affirmation for research and development, though i think this has to start from or Higher educational institutions, but then for a country like Nigeria that is too much to ask for. |

baralatie: On the contrary, i beg to defer. There is one strong component lacking in most Nigerian businesses including Nairaland, and it is they lack or don't invest in Research and development. look at Nairaland now, and couple of years back, their hasn't been much improvement, there is this mentality we seem to have which is as far as it works and make money, there is no need to improve upon it. Facebook for example, even with the success they had, they didn't stop there instead they kept on going till today. Look at Dangote, a manufacturing company but it doesn't have a strong R& ![]() Again i might be wrong |

emperorceaser: That is true, but there is another way of looking at it, most times especially in developed countries the innovation or effort of an individual(s) forces the government to make laws that will provide that a conducive environment for that business, for example if a person builds a world class hospital in maybe Ondo state, the government of the state( even if it is corrupt) will be forced to create a condition in which that hospital strives due to the amount of potential income and exposure it will receive |

Antoinne: Lol i wanted to use few names most people are familiar with, most people don't know who Richard Feynman is. Yes i have heard of Wecyclers, but i think what she needs most are investor(s) in her business. The reason why i say this is even though the government do not have laws or policies to enable her expand, the way the government and our laws are shaped gives enough room(leeway) for someone like her to expand her business astronomically if she has enough backing, and again this is where individuals come into play Not sure if that makes sense though |
![]() |
baralatie: Yeah that is true, but then look at a country like India, i don't know much about their history so i might be wrong, but even though the British didn't industrialize the country and with a high level of corruption, they still produced individuals like Jamsetji Tata, Dhirubhai Ambani, Kailash Chandra Mahindra and their likes |

I was having an argument with some people about the developed/developing countries and roles the government and individuals play in their development. I am arguing that inputs from individuals in this countries led to an improvement of both the government and the societies but they are saying the government should take the credit instead. Without people like Jamsetji Tata, Andrew Carnegie, Andrew Carnegie, Rockefeller, etc, most of this countries wouldn't be where they are today. So i have two questions: (1) Who should be credited for their ideas and innovation leading to developing this countries?? i.e where do you stand in this argument?? (2) AS Africans (using Nigeria as a point of reference), Why do we seem unable to produce individuals like this?? |

fucklikant101: Hi, i have a restaurant chain business idea, and have been looking for a partner or an investor. The restaurant if executed properly would be very lucrative. I have estimated the start-up cost to be between N600,000 - N700,000. The restaurant will target middle and low income earners and can be expanded into any part of the country. Lagos is the state i would prefer starting because it has desirable factors that will help the business grow faster. The restaurant will have a couple of chains and a corporate head that will manage the day to day activities of all the restaurant chains. So if you are interested and want to hear more let me know. |

xana101: I saw your post and just had to reply. I have a restaurant chain business plan/idea. It has the potential to be very lucrative if executed properly. The only problem i have is i don't have the capital to pursue it, so i am looking for a loan or even better a business partner(either silent or active). I would actually prefer having a partner. I am thinking of opening it in Lagos since it has a very favorable market for this kind of venture. Anyways, if you are interested and want to hear more, let me know. |

Good day, i will try to keep this short. I have a restaurant chain business idea, and i hope to pursue it in October this year. This business venture would be successful if the business layout i have planned out is implemented properly. The only thing i need to put in place is the start-up capital for the business, which i have estimated to be between N600,000 - N700,000. So i need either a partner who can invest in the business be it an active or silent partner or one or more investor(s) who's looking for businesses to invest in. |
