Hi everyone,
i wrote the last UTME,had a good score, want to stud,Electrical Electronics engineering.since february,to fill in time and gain knowledge i enrolled into NIIT to study MCITP-server administrator,I am still studying it,and i am also at a tutorial college, preparing for my post-utme and recieving A-level lectures .Naturally i have strong flare for software and programming generally,i don't wanna rush things,i thought having a good knowlegde of networking and so on would give me a IT foundation and eventually make me a better programmer. Now guys i need your advice, a candid one.
I boils within me to learn prgramming,I love programming, graphics and the prgramming aspects of electronics,i just love it, i have basic knowledge of HTML.i need you to advice me on what to face as at now,how to begin my programming career, how it should affect my choice course because i feel like learning it right now,if possible i feel like i should just know how to program overnight.i know i can trust you guys.

Being a programmer is a good thing and i am happy you realized your love for softwares early, You can always go for computer Science, but being a programmer is more than that, You have to learn the languages you want to learn, Programmers do not know all the languages, most are proficient in one or the other,

You are already on a good start with HTML, (Foundations of Programming). Now try and figure out what sells in your area and what you would like,

From a professional standpoint, .Net, Coldfusion , Php are hot in the Nigerian Market and also on the database side, MSSQL, Sybase and also Oracle, So the future is bright my brother,

Pls any one with Vb 6.0 ebook. pls help me send it to ekel101@yahoo.com. Thanks God bless

I do have the book, but i am wondering what you need it for cos i have not used it for so long, there are better versions for you to develop your applications, such as ASP.NET 2.0 or 3.5, Just download Microsoft Visual Web Developer.

candylips:

^^ you took the words out of my mouth

I was beginning to wonder what all the SAP fuse is all about.

SAP is just another overally complicated, overbloated piece of junk.

On the contrary. most big organizations don't run the whole of there biz on SAP.

Instead the have very strong development teams that develop solutions tailored to their biz needs.

SAP has its place but pls don't make it look like its the next big thing since slice bread because it aint . . .

You hit the nail on the head, I totally agree with you, Not all business uses the componenet of SAP and not all SAP Componenets are used,

Politics / Re: Obasanjo F@#ked Up This Country by Tugbaski: 3:00am On Aug 14, 2009
Regardless of what people think. I believe Obasanjo generally had the interest of Nigeria at heart. While i believe he tried his best and did everything he could do, there are big opportinites he missed also. But a leader is never meant to be perfect. I still believe he is the best President Nigeria ever had and i hope he is not the last.

Nairaland / General / Re: Is Nigerian Police Your Friend? by Tugbaski: 5:52pm On Jul 31, 2009
I don't think we can blame the Police Officers for what the Government as failed to do. Police collecting bribes today cannot be blamed on them rather than the govt. Am sorry, but until the govt stand up to their constitutional duties, Naija police would always be naija police. I think they are alright sha but definitely need OD intervention.
