It has really helped you and i am sure your metabolism is really fast now. I am sure if i eat the way you do eh, I would add so much weight. Would try and increase my weight training so i can also increase my food intake without qualms. |

Haba na, there is nothing to rejoice about yet. Unilag people have won nothing. The judge did not say that the name cannot be changed. He has not even started looking into the merit of the substantive suit(the main case) This order is just to restrain the govt from continuing with the renaming of the suit till the matter is concluded in court so that if the court at the end nullifies the decision of the govt, it would not be too late then. This is just like someone laying claim that he is the owner of a particular property which is about to be demolished by another person who is also claiming ownership. The first man runs to court to obtain an order restraining the demolition of the property pending the determination of the case. The court granting him the order does not in anyway mean the judge saying the property belongs to him because this is done even before the main case begins. It is merely a restraining injunction so that if the judge agrees the property belongs to him, the judgment would not be null and void since the building may have been demolished then. |

Now this is getting annoying! ![]() I wonder why we cannot keep quiet about things we know little or nothing about or take out some time to research about it before commenting aimlessly with so much confidence. Section 402 of the criminal code act applicable in every state in Nigeria states thus and is very clear. 1. “Any person who commits the offence of robbery shall upon conviction be sentenced to imprisonment for not less than 21 years. 2. If – (a) any offender mentioned in subsection (1) of this section is armed with any fire arms or any offensive weapon or any obnoxious or chemical materials or is in company with any person so armed; or (b) at or immediately before or immediately after the time of robbery the said offender wounds any person. The offender shall upon conviction be sentenced to death”. Please does it look like the judge has any discretion in a situation like this? Is it not elementary knowledge that the judiciary is not the body tasked with the responsibility of making the law but just implements it? So why insult the judge who has to follow the stipulated law or since when did judges start making laws. If you feel so strong about it, rally around your elected legislators to amend the law because that is their FUNCTION and stop acting like the bane of Nigeria’s problem is the judiciary. |

Sorry for responding late! I do not know your state of Origin but i will answer you based on the applicable law in Lagos State which is mostly reproduced in other states. You can also tell me where you come from so i can research if there is a similar law there.\ In Lagos, if a man dies intestate(without a will) and there was marriage done under the Act (court), the real and personal properties of the deceased vests in the Chief Judge of the State where the deceased resides until a grant of letters of administration is issued appointing administrators to administer the estate of the deceased. Application for letters of administration starts with obtaining death certificate of the deceased from the hospital where the deceased died. after this is done, you go to the probate registry to obtain forms for application for letters of administration which would be submitted with other documents. Now to the real question, that is who is entitled to the grant of Letters of Administration, the order of priority is as follow: 1. The surviving spouse(your mum) 2. The children of the deceased 3. The deceased' parents 4. Brothers and sisters of the whole blood or their issue 5. Brothers and sisters of half-blood 6. Grand parents 7. Uncles and Aunts. It therefore means that your step brother cannot assume ownership over that property yet as doing so would be unlawful. None of you have a right to the property of your father because you have not yet followed the right procedure as required by law. Your mum should therefore act fast, go to the probate registry and apply to obtain the letters of administration and then act from there. Good luck 1 Like 1 Share |

Good day everyone ![]() Log for yesterday 1,000 skips, 50 squats, 50 bicep curls My body is aching badly. Am sure its DOMS, I have not done squats in a long while and the one i did on Tuesday is still hurting me. My whole laps are on fire and i am tempted to take pain killers ![]() |
![]() |
Firstly, did your father die living behind a will? Also, did your father marry your mum under the Act or by native law and custom. You need to answer the two questions first before i give my advice. Cheers! |

Hi everyone Log for yesterday 1,500 skips, 200 jumping jacks and 50 squats( motivated by FF and Ronky's exercise routine) @HG, abeg count me out for that push-up challenge oh.My difficulty in push-up is directly proportional to that of yours for skipping ![]() @FF, your workout is so awesome @ML, I have all them zumba but you need to see me doing the workout shamefully without regard to the dance steps(I'm a terrible dancer) ![]() @Babs, i love your consistency. so awesome @Gen-Buhari, welcome back sir!(salutes the General) |
![]() |
Hello everyone ![]() @HG, I dey dance for you oh. Wow! I can just imagine the look on the face of your colleagues when you stepped in. And to think that what naturally occurs is that people tend to add weight after their vacation just goes to show how disciplined you are. Its not easy jare, neither is it something to gloss over. Abeg do plenty shakara jo ![]() Log for two days. 500 skips and 20 mins of JM six week pack level 1 Jm banish fat boost metabolism( I finally decided to do this workout based on Mightlove's recommendation on it in one of her posts and boy was i wrong! Its wasn't easy oh. My only issue with it is that it is too long. I love short intense work outs based on the fact that i usually get home late and work out at night so its easier to convince myself at 10:30pm to do a 20 minute workout. I sha loved it. @Modath, i dey hail oh. |

@Dede1 You are right. Appointment of the CJ of a state or of the Federation as the case may be is based on seniority. Justice Mariam Mukhtar Aloma is the most senior Judge at the SC after the current CJN set to retire. The nomination by the CJN is therefore purely procedural. The problem would have been if he had nominated or hand picked a younger JSC. |
![]() |
There is only one reason why the northerners seem to have a hold on the CJN position. The position of the CJN is purely based on seniority at the bench which is the Supreme Court. In the north, they usually appoint younger judges from the high court to the court of appeal and by the time they are finally appointed supreme court judges, they usually have a long period of time to serve before they reach the age of retirement. In the south, based on politics, a judge is usually almost at the brink of retirement before being promoted to the court of Appeal or the Supreme Court and by the time they spend a short period of time, retirement age catches up with them. Take for instance Nnaemeka JSC who was a Supreme Court judge for only nine months before retiring and Justice Uwais who was at the supreme court for 27 years out of which he spent 7 years as the CJN. So the problem is with the Southerners. Promote young judges from the High Court to the Court of Appeal so that they can spend a long time at the Supreme Court before retiring. Therefore, appointment of CJN has nothing to do with politics and is not rocket science as one can easily know the next 5 CJN in the future. |

OMG ![]() This is where i blame the PTA, Parents and school authorities. Why allow female students travel alone without the company of a mature parent. I schooled in Port-Harcourt and similar arrangements were made then for Lagos students. We always travelled in the company of at least 2 parents and one Naval officer( I was in a Naval school) though the school was mixed. Anything can happen on the highway. What happens in the event of an emergency which involves a child. What if one of the students develop an illness that requires urgent attention. Can the fellow students handle it? I am very sure that if a parent or an adult was in the bus, he or she would have insisted on the journey being postponed till the next day. Other Parents would have had a number with which to keep in touch with their kids in the event that the students didn't have a phone. This is very sad. May God help those kids heal quickly and may other schools learn from this. PTA is not about collecting money and having meeting with all talk but without regard for the issues that really matter. So sad. 1 Like |

@ Jennykadry, I have been able to analyse your post and i was able to deduce two things. 1. You have no problem with people posting and you are not discouraging people from seeking counsel about their problems. 2. You are however, pissed with people who post and wallow in pity rather than act on their advice they are given here. One has to be patient to analyse the thoughts you wanted to communicate but looking at your post face value, it rather looked that you were irked with the frequent complains people were posting. Firstly, as a medical personnel yourself i think, you get to see lots of cases at the hospital because it is only the sick that have need of a physician. It does not however mean that the majority of folks living have one ailment or the other but by virtue of your work place exposure, you may come home feeling depressed and tired of the many cases of sickness you have seen. Also, if I spend so much time in the crime section, believe you me, I would live a life of fear because i would become so crime conscious and fear would creep into my heart. A pathway i always pass on the normal day would look so creepy because i would feel someone is lurking around waiting to strike. The solution is not the people posting because whether they post or not doesn't mean that crime does not exist neither does it reduce its frequency. For my personal sake, i may need to take a conscious break from the section because of the negative impact it has built in my subconscious. On the issue of people not heeding to counsel given, i need you to understand that whether or not the original poster listen does not mean that someone else has not learnt from what you said. Even Jesus in the bible had secret disciples you know. If you also take time to scroll down, you would notice that the number of guests viewing a topic is more than the number of registered members. That simply means that the impact of the advice given in this forum cannot be undermined. So no counsel is a waste whether or not the poster listens. But seriously, anybody who logged in with the intention of sharing a problem would simply keep quiet and out of fear decline to share on account of the topic of the post. Cheers! 3 Likes |

@Blacklion, Thank you. I'm actually advocating for a compromise. A wise child can get whatever he/she wants from the mother. Of course, it is wise for the wedding to be don't in the father's place or conducted by his family if done in Lag. All the daughter needed to do was to go talk to the mum, soothe her, stroke her ego, sit on her laps, recount all the sacrifices she made for the kids and tell her this is one big sacrifice she needs to make just to fulfill all righteousness. The woman is not hard-hearted and would have simple budged. But no! she insulted the mum, told her father her mum is making things difficult for her, told the mum that she wants her to go through what she went through, had the guts to tell the mum that she is sure she is not her biological mum and has moved out of the house to maybe the guys house. Maybe the guys mum would come do omugwo for her. pschewwww. The worst thing to ever to is to make your husband no you are not on talking terms with your mum and family. He knows you have no support and would most likely use it to his advantage. The next thing one would see is a post like this "Husband is maltreating me and i have no one to turn to" bla bla bla. |

Thank you everyone jare. I am giving any bit of advice to someone so strong headed. Can you just imagine, i was able to get the whole story and it down right disgusts me. Firstly, this girl is the first and prior to her parents having issues, she was very close to her dad. When her dad abandoned them, she woke up one day and said she was going to look for her dad. She was abt 14 then. She was successful in her bid and against our advice moved in with his family. She know last there one month sef before running to her mum and complaining of her step mum maltreating her. Now seven years later, she is acting so silly. What transpired is that after her fiancee told her that his people said it is an abomination to do the wedding in her mum's place, she told her mum and called her dad secretly. The mum got a call one day after 7 yrs from her "husband". After series of exchange of hate mails between the two of them, the girl quarreled with the mum and had the guts to tell her that she wants her to go through what she the mum went through. To cut the story short, she(daughter) deleted her father's name from the mum's phone, told him her mum is being difficult, went ahead and presented the traditional wedding list to the father without even showing the mum and has now moved out of the house. very sillly and immature daughter. May God help divorced or separated mothers who against all odds struggle to raise their kids. @MBJ, All i said was that i advise women who are separated from their spouse not to be too proud to collect funds from their husband if he offers to render any help to the kids. My reason is that the kids in the future are likely to forgive their dad and then he begins to reap where he did not sow. |

I can recommend some of my young lawyer friends to you who now have their own practice. What you can agree on the lawyer after explaining your plight to him is that his fees would be contingent upon your entitlements being paid. You would pay the necessary filing fees and cost of litigation which i believe is not on the high side. Thereafter, once you are paid your entitlements, a certain percentage would go to him as his professional fees. 1 Like |
