There should be other sources of revenue for the country except subsidy removal and tax increase. Look inwards, agricultural productions. , solid mineral exploitation, tourism, and so on. These will add to GDP and increase revenue. Economy is not only selling oil and sharing the sell and increasing taxes except the leaders are bereft of knowledge which is what Nigeria has been suffering because of incompetent leadership.

turmacs:
Stupid Land thieves and lying propagandists are about to carry out another land grab just like they've been doing to Palestinian lands in the past, and later they will now call it Israel. You claim to be fighting Hamas yet you're telling the over 2 million residents of Gaza to leave their lands and not return till further notice... If the Palestinians leave, they should just forget about their land because it is gone.
If Israel can lie that Gaza beheaded babies to justify these atrocities, a lie that even Seun and his mod were not ashamed to push to FP and even backed the lie up with fake pictures to deceive people, then just know that everything Israel has been telling you about this war to gain your support is a lie... You don't have to be a Muslim to support Palestinians, you just have to be human.

If you don't know what to say, just be quiet. You are either a terrorist or her supporter. The children of hate Hamas committed atrocities and instead of blaming them, you are ranting what you cannot explain. They should be pushed out of Gaza to avoid the repeat of what happened last Saturday. The God of Israel is alive. God bless Jerusalem and Israel. God bless us and Nigeria

What if they have learnt their lessons?

What if they’ve repented?

What if they want to make a change?

Let's watch and see what will play out with this present administration and UK, US and other western powers. Their policy of divide and rule is what has put Nigeria in the present economic mess we find ourselves presently. Lets hope that they will be firm this time around for good governance and positive change.

It is a good idea that they did not share the entire accruals for the month. The excess fund should be channeled to infrastructural development that will add value to the economy and entice investors - Nigerians in diaspora and other meaningful investors to invest in the economy thereby creating growth and renewal of the economy.

Jumbo salaries and emoluments by elected office holders should be avoided at this time, everybody should sacrifice to lift this nation - Nigeria out of poverty and economic woes. A rich nation like Nigeria should have gone far in development if our past leaders have been honest with economic, social and political development of the country.

APC lost Nasarawa and Osun state, that is why they are not happy with the chairman and secretary

The devil does not give you anything for free

Good for him and Adamu. Selfish bigots that have turned APC into a wicked selfish party. Everyday at the secretariat you see people protesting for non payment of salaries and benefits as a result of embezzlement by the top APC hierarchy.

A ruling party should be headed by people that have compassion with the masses and ready to help. Not sadists and selfish elements like Omisore and co.

Am still reflecting on this...

In 2006,the EFCC Chairman Nuhu Ribadu, before the Senate, listed 5 govs as the Worst Stealing Governors as:*

1. Orji Kalu , Abia State
2. Ahmed Bola Tinubu , Lagos State
3. Ahmed Sani yerima , Zamfara State
4. George Akume, Benue State
5. Abudulahi Adamu, Nassarawa State

Today, in 2023, 17 years after.

Orji Kalu = Senator
Bola Ahmed Tinubu = President
Ahmed Sani Yerima = Senator
George Akume = Senator now Appointed by Tinubu as SGF.
Abdullah Adamu = APC Chairman.

The then EFCC Chairman Nuhu Ribadu that did not prosecute Tinubu, appointed by Tinubu to be Special Assistant on Security

The Senate is currently headed by another EFCC regular, Senator Akpabio still under prosecution for stealing billions

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nigeria is under siege, corruption is winning...

God bless you Vivour.

Not only the judiciary, Nigeria needs prayers always. Am happy to announce that Nigeria is presently the most praying nation on earth, passing the USA which has been no 1 in everything.

Nigeria will soon excel in all sectors. Prayer to God is not in vain.

IPOB is a product of bad governance period! When a region is neglected by a wicked and tribalistic governance, there is bound to be reactions. When the northern despots were holding sway in Nigeria in the 80s and 90s, OPC, NADECO, Afenifere and others in the West were labelled terrorists.

After the murder of Kudirat, MKO, Pa Rewane by the same despots, the situation went gaga, even the present President Tinubu went on exile for 4-5 years otherwise, Abacha should have killed him like Pa Rewane. Now the South West is holding sway after the wicked and senile government of Buhari which sent the country backward a period of 8 years( - lost decade), South East saw a period of unimaginable neglect during the period and that's what led to the present problem we are having in the region presently. State of emergency will aggravate the situation and is not even an option presently.

Counsel: The present President having suffered misrule in the past should hit the ground running by showing that South East is part of Nigeria by urgently fixing the roads which are nearly non motor able in the region, providing constant electricity in the region as we are presently enjoying in Abuja and Lagos, reactivating industries to employ the idol youths that are causing these problems. Get Simon Ekpa tracked and arrested or get his communication gadgets jammed. Peace and development will return in the East once good governance is felt.

The money from Fuel subsidy removal should be enough to do these things and not sharing Jumbo salaries and emolument which the present senate and house of rep are already scheming to eat up the excess fund accruing to the nation.

A word is enough for the wise.

Nigeria Army have asked the governors to let them deal with those miscreants across the country .

All talks, lets see action.

If the C-in-C could pull this through, I bet he will be the best thing that will happen to Nigeria in recent times.

Incorporate more scientific techniques to our agricultural process like genetic mapping, GMO adaptations in GMC and GMF and see magic happening.

The groundnut pyramid will return in the North, Palm produce and yam pyramid in the SS, NC and SE, Cocoa and timbre in the West. If these are harnessed which have been the mainstay of Nigeria economy before oil was discovered, there will be massive employment in these areas and pressure will be taken out of the Crude Oil.

The proceeds of crude oil will be channeled to infrastructural development, Nigeria will be among the emerging markets soon as Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, and others.

The attached highlighted in details the above discussed on how APC and President Tinubu could move Nigeria forward, going forward.

Please Nairaland,

Stop reporting anything about this former Leader - Buhari. He is not worth discussing at this crucial time Nigeria needed renaissance. This man has failed Nigeria woefully as the above commentator has highlighted. The first time, I was but a child but the second time, we witnessed how this man took corruption, tribalism, ethnicity, bigotry, nepotism, favoritism, election manipulation ,herdes-men attack, mishandling of IPOB, the list is very long, to the next level.

At the twilight of his administration he apologized for intentionally taking a country of more than 230 million people for a ride for 8 years( - lost decade) knowing that he has nothing to offer. He has to return the loot with his cronies, some were ministers for 8 years unbroken, lying and stealing.

Truely Nigeria is in a mess. See our markets like shanties, however, things will get better if Jagaban choose to change the status quo for better.

Workers go to work few days in a week

If anything to go by the report of massive importation of PMS in the coming days, or weeks by parties and entities, the price will come down a bit thereby forcing demand to increase a bit. We are likely to see the law of economics of demand and supply coming to play here with price mediating.

However, this suffering of the masses could be born for sometime if the government could hit the ground running and fixing the necessary infrastructures for a modern Nigeria. Good express highways connecting the major cities of the nation to reduce commuting time and costs. Modern Railways for inter and intra-city commuting like in UK, France and other countries in Europe and elsewhere. With good road and rail network, commuting will be cheaper, safer and faster, this will in effect cause prices of goods and services to come down.

Constant uninterrupted electricity(improving already), efficient communication system(improving already) and linking more rural areas with communication thereby integrating them to the mainstream of the country with the attendant increase in food and agro allied supplies. More investment in agriculture in areas of genetics mapping, GMO, improved yield and optimization of the agricultural systems.

People who have no business staying in townships to move to the rural areas to help in agricultural productions. Investment in other mining activities to boost GDP, curbing corruption in the Upstream, midstream and downstream of the oil industry. The list is long, but if the government will just start embarking on all these reformative endeavors and not on jumbo salaries for elected political officers and public servants leaving the masses and sharing the loot, the suffering will be elongated even beyond this present government - God forbid.

Counsel: This government has what it takes to bring this country out of her doldrums and put her in the path of economic, social and political development shunning, tribalism, ethnicity, nepotism, bigotry, favoritism and using the best the country has to do the right jobs.

Soon Nigeria will be great again.

You didn't mention that. Tourism would have been an easy money maker like Ghana is doing but insecurity will not allow us enjoy that. Even investors in agriculture in the north are being chased away.
At the end they don't charge the few terrorists they catch, rather feed them and give them money and those ones will go back to terrorism after graduation

President Jagaban and Shettima promised tackling insecurity head-on and this is the time for them to perform that feat.

Yes, Tourism, Hospitality, entertainment, arts and crafts, industrialization, infrastructural development and so on, all these should contribute to national GDP and remove pressure from oil, with oil money channeled to mainly on development and not sharing by receiving jumbo salaries and emoluments.

Leadership should be creative and not retrogressive and exploitative.
