@All,
The amount of "REDS" i see as I look at today's result gives me mixed feelings; rapidly dissolving spreadsheet money, and emerging opportunities to take position.

@pumping,
Hello Sir, I didn't know you were also baffled by the smell of coffee invitation to you yesterday. I hail-o, sent you an IM

Hello Ololufemi,

Good for you. YOur broker seems to be doing well. Please, which stockbroker do you use and what is their account opening amount. do they have good online presence and can mandates be given online?

Dis Guy:

nope sorry, what state are you in? what services do you require and ask your friend about them or contact them directly

@Dis Guy,
Thanks. I'm in Abuja, and they have an office here and Lagos. But I just wanted to know how reliable and efficient they could be, the truth is- may not be able to afford the other brokers already mentioned here.. So any information on Resort Securities and Trusts, who's account opening is a bit cheaper will help
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 4:36pm On Jan 07, 2008

Looks like the bears have not gone too far. Most stocks lost today, almost all the insurance stocks lost some amounts today, just for a few. What can one say to NSE??
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 1:21pm On Jan 07, 2008
@ Ololufemi,
Very well-said, it's good to go for fundamentally sound stock, but to also know WHEN to BUY and SELL. I own a little of Zenith, yet to get my order on UBA executed(just hope the train hasn't left me behind). Looks like I've missed the Diamond Train.

God is the giver of wealth(teaches us to make wealth) so we must acknowledge Him in all we do. Let's wait for the market to close then some more stock analysis will begin.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 1:00pm On Jan 07, 2008
@ Ololufemi,
I didn't know you will be posting anything that has a "light-red" for Zenith on this thread, because you've been a strong advocate for them even long before the PO. Anyway that makes a lot of sense, sentiments should not blind us from comparative truth about companies.

Thanks for your post, I was about saying you didn't notice I was saying hello.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 11:15am On Jan 07, 2008
Hello all, HAPPY 2008 to us all, wish you all teh best in this new year and the most profits in your investments.

Considering the results posted above on GTB and Zenith, this is really serious. I expect the bull run to be massive following Zenith TS, I'm holding on this one.

@ Fatherof2.
It's amazing the extent of expertise and talent in studying and understanding the NSE you ahve exhibited. Like Ololufemi said, your disciples are really increasing on this thread and I want to say I'm already one of them. I hail you Baba, and you can be sure I'll be noting all your posts. The questions will come later, but let's see how the market will be this week.

@Ololufemi,
My brother I salute you. I see you are making the best of the NSE. God's grace.

Where is Oga wanajo??
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 4:23pm On Jan 02, 2008
Thanks Man jiro, I'll take time and try it out. Sure will let you know how it goes.
Man Jiro:

I just sent another sheet: delete the old one.

In Aptistock, NSE is not preloaded.

What you can do is to create your NSE and input the stock symbols you desire. This should be the same as the symbols in the Zenith file you intend to use as input: even an extra space makes a lot of difference

After doing so, go to program files -- aptistock -- data and create a folder for your stock market (NSE or whatever you like: just be consistent).

Go to the data downloader and locate the source data file and specify the destination folder by choosing the market: avoid suffix option

Import: If download happens, then you are good to go.

Please you are yet to respond to my post. I thank you for the advice and I really think your access bank "prophecy" was a hit. what stock do yu think one should buy into for short-term gain, and how do you make these "speculations".
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 2:47pm On Nov 23, 2007
FatherOF2:

Don't do anything to your GTB just yet. Lets see what the price is on the 12th of December.I'll advice you generally hold on till FY end.Keep profits going,only cut on losses.Most Banking stocks are guranteed cash.

Thanks fatherOF2, I have about 50,000 now for a short-term run, and I had wanted to add something to it(from GTB sales). since you say I shouldn't sell off yet. Pls what do you think i should do with my little change NOW.I also see that your advice on access has paid off so well, who knows, maybe I'll be giving my testimony after this your advice anticipated.
