Hello my people. Greetings. It's a few years I've been off the forum. I'm back. Liquidated my portfolio for a certain investment and career development, now reaping the results of that and thought it's time to take a look once again into the Nigerian stock market. Any takers?

@ Upward

Today was a bullish day on the floor. You clearly are making more profit than me on Eterna. Good one, you sharp pass me there. My target was always Tuesday. I got at N31 yesterday, everybody took notice yesterday and went for the full attack today. But remember don't stay too long oh.Keep very close eyes on your exit and leave while everyone is still trying to buy. I'm jettison out of my TrippleG within the next two days.I will know which day this evening.God has given me enough two weeks blessing. One of my next candidates was JohnHolt before, but i wanted it to fall. It misbehaved today. But it must fall though. NBC is another nice one. Its currently primed for success as we await the results. Keep a close eye on PHB, Its falling now. I expect it to fall till friday to give chance for the price to respond to the results and start rising from Monday. That's another good one.

@ dbenzd and Eniyanman

Una don chop well well for GSK.

@Fatehrof2,
Haba, na you be Baba of many here-o, how I go come sharp pass you. Anyway, make we all enjoy the loot but you made a very important point there, keep an eye on the stock and no let greed catch you.

Johnholt really misbehaved today-o, I was eyeing the stock to attack at about 12. DO you really think it will come down soon??with all this bull we full everywhere?

PHB, I'm watching it but

Kashif:

Let me stand in for my Oga on this (though he will score my work o)

Niwicable

Good try Kashif, I'm not the OGA but let me point out a few things. The stock Opened at the lowest for the day (9.5) and was pushed right up to 10.42, but reduced slightly to close at 10.12 which is very close to the day's high. This is a green candle and a good bullish sign. The slow stockastic is falattening, but the chaiking money flow yet to respond, as well as teh RSI, However going by the candles, it's bullish, but today's market will throw more light.

@ Upward,

E be like say na you help pilot release Eterna landing gear. You're already in profit. Nice move yesterday, rock bottoms are hard to find. Take position just before rock bottom.

My dear brother, this one was perfect timeing-o, not because of anything special but because it was already in the safe zone. Hope you got in? You know your post last week supported my plan so it even encouraged me to go after close to the day's low. It needs today to confirm, because it can still loose today (anything is possible) but whatever the case, I no de complain.

Eterna pilot about to bring out landing gear.

I was able to collect some kg today at 30 naira. Hope with this crash, crash news flying around the pilot doesn't send back the landing gear, but I'm not complaining, itis better to get in when you can than to start pursuing a moving train.

Have you seen prices today?. GSK looks set for me for a friday entry and the almighty Eterna fruit looks like it will get ripe certainly by Monday at the latest.

yeah FatherOf2, GSk seems to have reversed already, it gained maximally today, so if you can get in now taht will be great. I'm totally out of cash. For eternaoil, it doesn't seem to have tired out, but let's see what monday brings.

@Bosy, you are very correct. First aluminium has slowed down, didn't loose maximally today but one has to be careful with tht stock in my opinion, may not sustain a major rise even if it reverses now.

@Gees, you are looking at yesterday's chart. They have not updated teh charts for today. It closed at 6.50 today

Hey upward, how're you.Nice to see your face. How have you managed your PZ portfolio. I took aim and exited at close to my N32 target price. Some peeps may sell their bonuses, that may give the stock small running stomach.

Yeah, I actually got tired of waiting for the thing. I exited at close to 30 with my head still intact to enter Polyprod (which gave me about 50% gain, and I exited to enter berger, which is where I am now). I'm seriously sulking for not having cash in this bear season when It is wonderful to take position, but if my plans on some stock work e.g DSR, I'll cash out of them to take position in new opportunities popping up. I will be contacting you for any tips or advice

Trully speaking, if you read my post about 2 months ago when they were going about their offer, i seriously castigated this bank and its offer because i knew they had seriously inflated the price over a very short time just because they wanted to raise funds. If you're in the long term, i'd suggest you do away with that thing.
As per Big treat, not sure how the price manipulation accusation will play out for this stock. But anything that goes down must go up. Big Treat i believe will recover later. You could probably sell then and seek other opportunities which are showing face again.

Hello FO2,

you are quiet right there. Most guys have ben doing serious panic selling at serious losses. I bought some bigtreat (speculative) just before it started dropping but I can't be found panic-selling. PATIENCE is teh game, and like I said somewhere, YOU NEVER LOOSE MONEY OR GET BURNT IN THE NSE UNTIL YOU HAVE SOLD.

Why investors buy Transcorp shares in secondary market – Onyiuke
Written by Peter Egwuatu
Wednesday, 02 April 2008
THE Director General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Professor Ndi Okereke Onyiuke has said that despite the slow pace in the activities of NITEL and MTEL investors still scramble for the shares of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp) Plc because of the company’s basket of investments across the country.

OnyiukeShe disclosed this last week in Lagos, stressing that NITEL and MTEL would bounce back as soon as government dilutes its stake to give way for the foreign investors to have 51 per cent of the controlling shares

According to her “ The foreign investor has given conditions that they needed 51 per cent equity fo them to come in. This is because they are coming with their expertise and as well as money. So a rational investor would put his eyes where his money is .”

She further noted that investors are scrambling to get Transcorp shares in the secondary market and they cannot get it. “Even when the price was as low as N2.00 per share people still rush to buy them because they have hope and confidence in the company. Besides investment in telecommunication, Transcorp has numerous investments that are doing well.

It seems all you have ever posted recently has been on trying to convince folks on why TRANSCORPSE is still a good buy. i guess you are deep on that one and HOPE that these posts will trigger a bull run. Well, it is well, keep hoping and the bones of TRANSCORPSE shall definitely rise again. But don't be caught doing "Pump-and-Dump",

is APT securities meeting  your needs or treating you the way you would like? I do not think they are very serious, they cater for a lot of agege hausawa. How long have you been with them?

you need to use an efficient broker. Consider www.tiddosecuritiesltd.com  www.finmalfinance.net or www.newdevco.com

Finmal are good, they are quiet but discering wealthy arewa use them. Check out the board. Kin gane ko?

I dot believe in all those large brokers that have thousands of clients and a fancy website. The more you look the less you see. Any firm that has thousands of clients and fifty staff or less should worry you. How efficient can they really be. You need to be able to be talking to the MD and the actual trader and if necessay text/call him during trading. I do not believe in all this account officer waste of time, that does not trade or understand your objectives.

Does anybody know if these guys are serious http://www.piconigeria.com there is something quietly happening but I have no previous information on the company until two weeks ago and I do not know any of their board members so I personally am not interested. I suspect they are small time contractors.

MBC bank was absorbed by First bank. Their stockbrokers which was an affiliation is doing a quiet placement, however listing may not be a soon as you would expect. www.mbcsec.com their Chairman is a sound guy.

I will not bother mentioning what I feel may be out of reach to newer investors, over N100m to enter or very restricted.

@ Blueband we come from a culture of respect. My first born came in 1971 so let your youth not lead you to give your elder a hand shake that will pass the elbow.

Did any Londonites go to the waste of time at the institute of directors yesterday? The MD of Interswitch said his company had been inundated with calls from a forum demamnding pp. That will not make them release documents faster, as you know most comps raise funds ast different levels of placement. Tomorrow 3pm at trader vicks there will be a small late lunch discussing some telecom companies that are planning more quiet goodies this year, two MD will be there.

Will log in tuesday. Where is Wanaj0 I did not see him online today

Upward,

All you are saying is still dependant on entry price. If you entered at the peak of the bull, the only way to go would have been down.

Yeah, entry price is the key, that you also consider with the timing. Like you rightly pointed out, I entered when it buttomed out during it's last free fall, at about 5.something. sold a percentage of my holdings that just recovered my capital with a little extra at 8.point something, still watching it go upward, but won't be moved by how far it goes now, and will bail out with the remainder (which is all "jara"wink once I notice any downtrend.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by upward(m): 5:44pm On Mar 03, 2008
I sold a part of my holdings in POLYPROD (yes polyprod) after 10days with about 40% profit. Just sold a part of it that recovered all my capital, the other remainder is still growing at maximum rate daily (money I can afford to loose). THE WATCHWORD DURING A BULL MARKET IS TIMING AND AVOIDANCE OF GREED. Bail out once you've hit your target and forget anything that happens.
