Please, I need useful tips on how to convince the VO because i will be reapplying again. My resumption date is January 14th and it's close. Thank you Nutshell44
Nutshell44:

I just checked their fees. It’s about $61k. Almost 22 million naira yearly minus feeding and medical insurance. I think that’s why u were denied. Even average Americans can’t afford this truly.

Timotee:

The tuition cost that the poster stated wasn't exactly untrue. I looked up the cost of attendance (for the Master of Science in Sustainability Management programme) at the Illinois institute of technology in Chicago. The total cost of attendance for a year isn't $61k as someone wrongly stated. A breakdown from the school's website is below. The Master of Science in Sustainability Management programme is under the Stuart School of Business. The amount that he stated was the tuition and fees for graduate programmes in the College of Engineering, Lewis College of Human Sciences, College of Science, and School of Applied Technology.

Graduate programs in the Armour College of Engineering, Lewis College of Human Sciences, College of Science, and School of Applied Technology; for a break-down of the tuition and fees, please visit the Student Accounting Office website.*

Tuition Rate: $1,530 per credit hour
Tuition & Fees: $31,947
Room & Board: $13,500
Total Estimated First Year Tuition & Expenses: $45,447

Graduate programs in the Stuart School of Business (excludes MPA); for a break-down of the tuition and fees, please visit the Student Accounting Office website.*

Tuition Rate: $1,725 per credit hour
Tuition & Fees: $35,407
Room & Board: $13,500
Total Estimated First Year Tuition & Expenses: $48,907

I will be staying off campus. I'm not concealing any info

You simply denied urself by being unnecesarily persistent on being able to support yourself on a school that pays $63,417 even though u mentioned ur uncles help too. You shouldnt have even mentioned yourself in d first place. Come on bro,u are talking about paying about 26million per year, who would wanna sacrifice such money for his nephew, not even child? And I bet you had no form of assistanship...that is to say, scholarship. Your reason for denial is as clear as a mirror.
thanks for the response. I intend to live off campus that's why I didn't include that

Good evening everyone, my brother was delayed three weeks ago cos he couldn't give a valid point on what he's been doing for 7 years after his diploma.

Please I need someone to give him a mock cos he's scheduled for next Thursday.

Help a brother in need and thanks in advance.

Congrats dear.
yemluck:
Visa approved today.

I have to confess, it is not the level of preparation or how good you are. It is just favour and the discretion of the VO

Went there with my brother, my documents were all arranged and I joined the queue. I was shaking in the car but I really couldn't tell if it was the AC or an internal fear but on the queue, the fear was gone as I was braced for any eventuality.

Went through all the registration process and then on the queue for the interview, I kept listening to others. I saw those that were declined and those that were given. I noticed one VO was friendly and was giving most people she interviewed. I was praying that I was going to be lucky to be interviewed by her.

A guy was not too far in front of me, he wore crazy jeans, he had long dreadlocks, he had rings in his ears and he wore glasses. He was interviewed by a man, he said he had already been declined a visa before, long story short, his visa was approved. At this point, I told myself, "I am getting mine today".

The guy in front of me was called, he wore a nice suit like a banker, he started out about how he had schooled in UK and is back and wants to further in the US, I was shocked when at the end of his story he was declined and then it came to my turn.

Me: Good morning ma

VO: good morning, pass me your passport and your i-20

VO: what year did you graduate

Me: 2014

VO: have you finished your NYSC

Me: Yes

VO: how many schools did you apply to

Me: 3 (south Dakota SU, Purdue and ...)

VO: why did you pick this

Me: It was recommended to me by my dad when he went for a conference in the US and in addition, I was given an international student waiver worth 7000 dollars (this is not on the I20 by the way)

VO: what do you do presently

Me: I worked at a construction company before but now I work at .......

VO: How many siblings do you have

Me: I have 2 brothers and a sister.

Vo: what does your dad do?

Me: He is an urban and regional planner. He has his own consulting firm and he is grooming me to take over from him

Vo: Do you have any family member or relative in the US

Me: No

Vo: Where will you be staying?

Me: I will be staying at the graduate hall of residence

VO: You can go to the pick up location in 3 days time to pick up your visa

Me: (wow, thank you ma)

The so called DPR officials have clues of pump stations that sell above N87. All they do is roam around to collect their normal egunje and rest their case. If you are on a long thing, just watch out.

Report fuel/petrol stations selling above N87 in and around your area to {DPR} Department Of Petroleum Resources On: 012790000. Be An Instrument Of Change. Dial d number, listen to a voice prompt, dial 9, then pass the information across

Health / Re: Good News!! Four More Ebola Patients Discharged – Health Minister by uzzyj(m): 5:25pm On Aug 19, 2014
I still believe that they can still be placed on check for a while for proper check up which maybe routinely.
Alexas58: Four more patients have been
certified clean and discharged
from the Ebola Isolation center in
Lagos after undergoing
treatment for the deadly disease.
The four patients include two male doctors, the nurse who had
earlier escaped from the isolation
center and ran to Enugu and a
female patient who was on
admission at the time Patrick
Sawyer was hospitalized at the First Consultant Hospital. The news of their discharge was
disclosed in a statement released
today by the Minister of Health,
Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu and
signed by his his Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Mr. Dan Nwomeh. Read parts of the
statement after the cut. “The Minister of Health Prof.
Onyebuchi Chukwu has
announced that four additional
confirmed cases of Ebola Virus
Disease who have been
managed successfully and are now disease free have been
discharged home today. They
include two male medical
doctors and one female nurse.
The three participated in the
treatment of the index case while the fourth person was a
female patient at the time the
index case was on
admission. This brings to five
the total number of patients
diagnosed with Ebola Virus Disease who have now been
discharged from hospital.” On Saturday August 16th, the
Health Minister announced that the first Nigerian to be diagnosed
of EVD, a female doctor, had been
discharged after she was treated
and certified cured. The Minister also stated that the
total number of cases of the Ebola
Virus Disease in Nigeria remained
at 12 while the number of deaths
from the disease was four and
that the number of people under surveillance in Lagos is 189 while
in Enugu is 6.
