What you need to do is learn how to debug your code, it's a very valuable skill to have as a developer.

The most effective debugging tool a developer can have is your simple console.log or print method. Whenever you notice a bug, break down the code block involved into bits and console log all the values to make sure that the right values are being passed at every given stage, don't assume anything. Console.log has saved many lives since 1995

Also learn how to debug using google chrome and other debugging tools. Good luck on your coding journey, don't give up!

Secondly, for you to be able to store whatever ids you generate and compare to subsequent once, you will need to first store them in a Persistent storage or state management.

If you want to do this in the client side, you can use your localstorage or some state management - e.g Redux
