Family / Re: If Your Mother Were The Bread Winner by verox: 6:41pm On Aug 25, 2007
i have experienced what it is like. in a situation when u know he was once there and u know aw much he want to do so and all his effort and the fact that anytime he has a little he shares, there is no how u will not respect him and even pity him.my dad experienced this before he died and till tomorrow i still cry when i remember him.he was always there to welcome us home cos mum was at work he will give u the latest family gist when u av been away for some time wants to talk to u and all that. he is loving to his wife, no smoking, no drinking and he will rather use his little money for the family's necessity than buy clothes.he does allot of things in the house that we didn't take notice of until he died and we started feeling him.if i start telling u all he does u will not believe it .despite the fact that he was not employed he took kia of so many things and never gets angry with my mother even when he has reasons to. he calls me "small" and sincerely i love him. he is tall and huge and u cant help but miss his presence at home and it is worse now that he is no more. sincerely i believe now that he was more employed than my mum cos what he did cannot be quantified. sleep on dad till we meet to part no more. we all miss u.
Family / Re: Disciplining Children by verox: 6:18pm On Aug 25, 2007
i am very surprised at the response of some people here. beating a baby is wrong no doubt about that, but the moment a child starts growing there is this natural "naughtiness" that needs to be corrected and if after warning the child verbally he or she didn't yield then the scolding comes in and in as much as it is necessary u dnt av to overdo it. in a home where there is love, verbal correction and flogging ones in a while, the home will be peaceful and the children grow to be good children. i dont agree that one should not scold children but u must make sure u show more of love and verbal correction. for those that says otherwise pls. have a rethink, it is not a crime

Fashion / Re: Best Salons For Weave-on Fixing In Lagos by verox: 5:01pm On Aug 25, 2007
am a Nigerian but presently in Gambia with my husband. used to think Nigeria is expensive only for me to get here and find out that retouching is D150 = N750 and above. u have to pay for retouching separately, washing and setting separately. at the end of the day u will be spending alike D300 = N1500/2000 on retouching and setting.found out that most Nigerian women here do their retouching themselves at home and if u have to go to the salon maybe once or twice in a year. u don't know aw much i wish am at home.u never know the value of what u have until u loose it. prices are OK in Nigeria believe me
Fashion / Re: How Do You Tell Who's Pretty And Who's Not? by verox: 4:49pm On Aug 25, 2007
definitely one's natural look is the real standard for qualifying a person as being beautiful, the addition of make ups and other accessories make u pretty, attractive and so on. to know how beautiful a lady is get to see her without make ups and very early in the morning, or see her while sleeping without makeup.
