Celebrities / My Hit Song ‘johnny’ Was Released By Mistake – Yemi Alade by VibezNGdotcom: 11:35am On Apr 16, 2017
Amazing performer, Yemi Alade, needs little or no introduction.

The MAMA Africa crooner, in a new interview with Sunday Scoop, revealed that her hit track Johnny, which set hearts racing, body moving and recognition increasing, was actually released by mistake.

According to Miss Alade, if the song had not first been leaked online, she may never have released it.

In her words:

“I was in the studio with Selebobo and we were just goofing around trying to come up with a nice sound. The first line for the song just came out playfully and I continued. I never thought that it would become a hit and if not that the song was leaked, I may never have released it.”

Miss Alade, also talked about her heritage, saying being Igbo and Yoruba, is of great advantage to her.

“You cannot underestimate the importance and
role of tribes in Nigeria as it is taken very
seriously. I am very proud of my heritage as an African and I try to portray in every way that I can and everywhere I go. Being partly Yoruba and Igbo is a big plus for me as it has helped me toconnect with both cultures. However, I believe that both cultures are inextricably intertwined because they share a lot of similarities,” she said.

Celebrities / I’m Making Mad Money After Escaping Sony Music’s Cage – Davido by VibezNGdotcom: 1:57am On Apr 11, 2017
Singer, Davido, has stressed the importance of doing things the way one knows how to and stay dedicated to one’s craft. The Sony Music Entertainment artiste said that he has already made more money this year than he did last year because he was able to break
free of the shackles that held him last year.

Speaking at the home of contestants in a popular reality game show, Davido noted that after signing his Sony deal last year, he was asked to ‘westernise’ his sound in a bid to make him appeal to the Americans but the move cost him as his fans on the continent didn’t really ‘feel’ him.

But at the turn of the year, following the sack of his manager, Kamal, the singer dropped a new single, ‘IF’ which saw him return to his regular music style that earned him fame and fortune. And in a short while, the song has topped charts in Nigeria and beyond.

Explaining how he decided to call Sony’s bluff, he said:-

“You know that last year I signed the deal and the deal held me. They no wan make I drop music wey I know how to make. They were dictating to me how they wanted me to make music.

But in December I switch am for them say
omo, Bleep-off mehn, I’m doing what I have to do and I went back to local.

The money wey I don make, from January till
now e don pass the moni wey I see last year.

Anyday you gats do what you gats do. Chris
Brown no fit do Naija music pass me, me I no
fit do him own pass am.”

Nigerian singer, Iyanya, has revealed that he is yet to get over his girlfriend, Yvonne Nelson, after their much-publicised break-up in 2012.

Iyanya told the Nigerian media that he broke up with her to enable him concentrate on his music career.

"We broke up because we hardly had time for each other. I was hustling and I would do four shows in a day and I will make two million. So, I won’t say because I was in love with a woman I’m going to see money and I’m going to lay back."
He said he missed her terribly and was yet to get over her.

“It’s not easy losing a great and Beautiful woman like Yvonne. She was everything I have at that moment until I lose her."

According to the bubbly actress, the Ur Waist hit singer “had a lot of girls on his table it just didn’t work. I just heard a lot of things, he did a lot things. I feel it’s very disrespectful talking about him like that but it happened to me he can choose not to talk about it.”

Celebrities / I Begged Davido To Wear A C0ndom On His Big P3nis’ – Alleged Babymama Says by VibezNGdotcom: 10:17pm On Mar 26, 2017
Mother of one, Ayomide Labinjo, who recently alleged that singer, Davido, is the father of her three-year-old child, Anuoluwapo has blamed the ‘OBO’ for the paternity mess he is enmeshed in at the moment.

According to her, the singer slept with her twice with his ‘massive’ manhood without protection despite her suggestion that he should use them.

“The reason I slept with him the first time we met was because I just wanted to catch my fun. The day we met at the club, Ebevande, I was with my friends, I did not really know him then but I just knew he was an artiste. I went out with my female friends; we had like a ladies night out; then one of his bouncers came to meet me and told me that his boss wanted to see me.

I actually thought it was the owner of the club that wanted to see me. When I got to where they were, I noticed that it was David and he was with B. Red. I greeted both of them, B. Red did not respond but David did and we talked.

He collected my pin and asked me to return to my seat. When they were about to leave, the bouncer came to meet me again and informed me that they wanted to leave. My friends thought we were all going together but when we all got to the car, he asked my friends to go back. He said that I was the one he wanted to see.

“We went to the Genesis Hotel. When we got to the room, we talked for a long while before we had sex. He is a very jovial person and he loves talking. He made me laugh a lot and we talked at length.

B. Red was in the other room. I insisted that he should protect himself by wearing a condom before sex but he refused. He said that he does HIV test every two weeks.

Then I asked him how sure he was that I did not have any disease but he said he was very sure I did not have a disease. After he had said all that, I told him to just do what he wanted to do and allow me go home in the morning. That night, he had sex with me twice.

You would know he was in the mood to have sex that night and it lasted for a while. He has a big manhood and it hurt me a little. The second time was when he noticed I was leaving in the morning and he just wanted to have sex with me again.

“The second time, the sex did not last long because he was very tired and he did not even know when I left the hotel. I do not drink or smoke but David drinks and smokes. He drank and smoked in the club” she told Punch.

She also denied that the singer paid her off as he claimed, adding that the singer was a stingy person.

“I saw where he said he sent money to my family and that is a lie. The question I would ask is that what account did he pay the money into? He should bring out the bank teller. He has never given me money.

If they said they have given me money, there would be a record or evidence and they should bring it out. Even when we had sex, he never gave me money for transport.

David is a very stingy person and I would not be the first person saying this. I have heard it from different girls, David is very stingy.

“I just want him to take up his responsibility but I heard he is not ready for another DNA. My mother has gone to a lawyer and we would eventually go to court because I know we have a good case. I was told that even if David does not want to step out for a DNA, any of his siblings could step in for him.

Once everything is settled, I just want him to take care of his daughter but there cannot be mutual love between us. Even the way he talks to me cannot allow for mutual love,” she said.

Meanwhile, Davido’s camp insist that the singer will not do any DNA test adding that the one he did in the past, which allegedly came out negative was the last he would do.

Celebrities / I Have Had Girls Grab My Balls While Performing – Iyanya by VibezNGdotcom: 10:05pm On Mar 26, 2017
Mavin artiste, Iyanya, is known for his ever sexy self and of course beautiful singing style.

The talented act, in a new interview with Sunday Scoop, opened up o his music, Mavin and more.

Read interview below:

Why did you decide to join Mavin Records instead of setting up your own company like many other artistes?

I refuse to do the normal thing and that’s why I joined Mavin Records. At that point, my problem was not a label because I had just left one. I wanted to be in a place where I could focus on music for a couple of years before I run a label. I’m not in a rush. For the people out there saying they thought I would start my own label, I’m sure most of them cannot run a company on their own.

What has been your experience with Mavin Records?

I have no regret. We’ve just been working and having good times. I’m so blessed and honoured to be working with Don Jazzy. I’ve actually learnt a lot.

Why did you leave MMMG because many thought you’re a co-owner?

Yes, I was a co-owner. But I left MMMG because my contract was over and there were no plans to renew. We knew that after that contract, everyone would go their different ways.

So you mean you didn’t quarrel with Ubi Franklin?

Why should we quarrel? Everybody has issues and that includes Ubi and me. But we didn’t break up because we fell apart. It was just time for me to leave.

What are the challenges that artistes who try to run their own labels face?

Music is spiritual and you have to be in the realm to do it. Every time you try to do other things, you forget the music and music forgets you too. Some people would say they’re running labels but they end up doing better than the artistes they sign. That’s because the artiste/owner is focusing on himself and trying to get better.

You headlined the African Business Conference at Georgetown University, what was that experience like?

It was a blessing being there with great minds and sharing knowledge. I thank my management company, Temple, for making that happen. I learnt a lot from that experience.

Would you say that your music has changed over time?

If you listen to the last two songs I released, you would know that there’s a new and better version of Iyanya.

Which of your songs is the most memorable for you?

Kukere. After that song, I’m usually not bothered about what people say about my songs because nobody liked Kukere initially. Everybody who listened to it didn’t think it would be a hit song but it went on to become one of my biggest songs.

Were you tempted to give up after your first album didn’t do so well?

That was also the time I lost my parents, so I was down. But the loss of my parents spurred me on and I was determined to make their memory proud. It was the grace of God and music that kept me through that period.

What would you say are some of the most enduring lessons you learnt at the Project Fame academy?

How to use the stage and the microphone. I also learnt how to connect with the crowd.

Some followers on social media could go overboard, have you ever been tempted to lash back?

Of course, when I’m in that mood. But these days, the block button makes things very easy. I wouldn’t block people who offer constructive criticism but I don’t waste time in blocking noisemakers.

Can you recall the nastiest comment anybody has made about you?

Somebody said that I used my family for rituals. And that was the day I decided to start blocking people.

What’s the greatest sacrifice you’ve ever had to make for your music career?

When I won Project Fame, everybody thought I was living large but for two years after that, I was practically living out of my car and hotels. Nobody should think that the guys on TV have it so easy. There were times I’d return from shows and wouldn’t have money to rent hotel rooms. It was also hard for me when I didn’t have heavy party songs.

Was Kukere a deliberate strategy or an accident?

When I met D’tunes, I liked his sound. The first day I saw him, before we even started working, I told him we were going to make history together and we did.

What’s the craziest moment you’ve ever had on stage?

I have had a lot of them including girls grabbing my balls. Most times, I return from shows with scratches on my body. However, I would not trade it for anything because it is what makes me who I am.

Where’s the most unlikely place you’ve met a fan?

I don’t think I’ve ever been to anywhere that people didn’t recognise me including Australia and China. Even when I try to go unnoticed, people come up to me for pictures and other things. There are Africans everywhere and Nigerian music is so huge all over the world right now.

What has fame robbed you of?

I don’t have the same life I had before I became famous. There are so many things I cannot do now. I can’t just wake up and do whatever I want. I have to call my manager and other people before I make a move. It can be very boring but I don’t have any regrets.

How often do you work out?

I do that almost every day and I try to eat well too.

A deputy governor once castigated your dancers for dancing raunchily, do you feel like you sometimes go overboard?

I know that happens but that doesn’t make me a bad person. I’m a musician and performer who is only doing his job. I like to be myself whenever I’m on stage and I don’t pretend.

You’ve been romantically linked with a lot of ladies, which of those are actually true?

I’m sure nobody has heard about me and any woman in the last two years. Yes, I’ve been in relationships with about two people you guys know about but that’s all in the past. Even if I’m going to get married, I would keep it away from the media. My last relationship was safe for three years till it became public knowledge. When people know who you’re in a relationship with, they start to say all sorts and this causes friction between couples.

What actually went wrong in your relationship with Yvonne Nelson?

It was just one of those relationships that didn’t work because it couldn’t work. It’s not like she’s a bad person and I’m not a bad person either. However, I’m happy that we still have a nice relationship and we keep in touch.

Do you think it’s okay for entertainers to date?

If you’re ready for all that madness, then you can go ahead. If you’re dating a famous person, don’t expect the relationship to be like the one where the person isn’t in the public eye. Besides, entertainers don’t have regular schedules and we don’t have a lot of free time at our disposal. You must also be ready to see such people hugging, kissing strangers and if the person is an actress, they would even have to fake lovemaking because it’s part of their job. So many times, girls have approached me while I was with my girlfriend, and they would tell her to take pictures of us together. Anybody that isn’t comfortable doing that can’t date me. Before you met me, my fans were there. And that’s why I’m not in a relationship today because it’s difficult for most people to understand.

What do you like in a woman?

I don’t know. If a woman makes me happy and she looks good, then I’m okay.

What would you say is the biggest thing music has done for you?

Music has done all the big things for me. From being a choir master at the age of five to doing jingles for my state at the age of 14 and working as a karaoke attendant at the age of 18. I was already making money from music before I became famous. Every big thing that has happened in my life has been because of music. The first time I performed before a huge crowd was the first-ever Calabar Carnival hosted by the Donald Duke administration and that was where I was discovered. While I was doing music in my home state, I met lots of stars such as P-Square, Styl-Plus, 2face, and many others before travelling to Lagos for Project Fame.

Apart from music, what other interests do you have?

Business! Anything that brings money.

Celebrities / Mayorkun Couldn’t Top His Own Sh*t On ‘sade’ by VibezNGdotcom: 10:56pm On Mar 22, 2017
Just about a year now the fortune of a certain boy changed overnight when he received a call from Davido. That was Mayorkun, Destiny came calling, and like everyone else would do, he heed the call. In about a year Mayorkun can say ‘I’m young and getting it’.

Somehow Mayorkun got to release his first single ‘Eleko’ under DMW. ‘Eleko’ was released precisely in April 2016 to critical acclaim. Yes, everyone saw Mayorkun as the next big thing, and so far he has picked up a few awards here and there to that account.

Apparently the ‘Eleko’ crooner is giving off signs he is a one hit wonder. ‘Sade’ reaffirms this assertion.

Mayorkun until now has not released a single this year. Prior to the release of ‘Sade’ social media has played John the Baptist urging us to expect a smash hit in ‘Sade’.

Sade is here and it’s a typical case of a rip off, and completely bastardized song. WTH!

To start off the scrutiny, a first listen to Mayorkun’s Sade gets you rolling your eyes. Your brain tells you there is something familiar about this song in a very distasteful way. It doesn’t take long before your brain recalls ‘Eleko’ and Kiss Daniel’s Woju.

It is with much disdain that you wonder who produced the track and Lo and behold it’s the maestro Masterkraft. The percussion on Sade are akin to Mayorkun’s ‘Eleko’ and ‘Woju’. I’m wondering if Masterkraft production was a pro Bono. Was Masterkraft not in the mode to work and he was coerced coaxed to do just anything? Whatever was the scenario that played out, this plagiarized production is a dent on his reputation.

On the flip side here is Mayorkun singing like a type of Kiss Daniel. I could hear the ghost of Kiss Daniel hovering over Mayorkun’s vocal. At some point I must have sang Woju while listening to the song. At another point, I felt Mayorkun should have named this song ‘Eleko Part 2’.

Mayorkun has failed to to outdo himself. Mayorkun couldn’t top his own sh*t on ‘Sade’.

I think Mayorkun still has a lot to prove about his music artistry. He definitely has not found his own unique sound.
