Science/Technology / Microsoft Reveals What Data It Collects About You And Why by Viciyke1(m): 11:04am On Apr 06, 2017 |
Microsoft have faced several criticisms over their privacy policy and how it snoops into our private data without permission. The most recent was the threat of enforcement action from various European regulators over the "excessive" and opaque nature of Operating System data collection. Ahead of next week's rollout of Creator's update for Windows 10, Microsoft has decided to shed more light on the data it collects from you by releasing more information on the diagnostic data it collects. Microsoft intends to create more transparency as the Creators Update will introduce a new privacy settings menu, designed to make users decide on what information it permits to be sent back to Microsoft. Also, Microsoft has launched a web-based privacy dashboard, which lets Microsoft account holders check the data Microsoft has collected about their use of its services such as location, browsing, search and Cortana. Kudos to those keeping Microsoft on their feet as it regards privacy, and also to Microsoft for responding positively to criticisms

It lets you boot more quickly than that complete shut down and uses less power than sleep mode. It comes in handy when you have to return back to working on your system in order attend to a pressing matter. To check if hibernate is enabled on your system; step 1. Open Control Panel step 2. Click Power Options step 3. Click Choose what the power button does step 4. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable If you see Hibernate under Shutdown settings, the feature is enabled, else go to step 5 & 6 5. Select the Hibernate checkbox 6. Click Save changes Or just open the command prompt by typing cmd on windows search box and type: powercfg -h on It works on Windows 7 as well 1 Like 1 Share
