Career / Recruitments At The NNPC And The Ugly Fate Of Nigerian Youth Professionals by Vkemay: 11:27am On Oct 29, 2020
There are emerging reports that underground employments and nepotism are the main factors that continue to mar the perception and indeed quality of employment at the nations oil company.

In the midst of growing cries of unemployment and underemployment by the Nigerian youths, the applicants to the 2019 NNPC recruitment process are still asking for feedback and answers from the management of NNPC.

In 2019 there was a national call for applications to the vacancies at the NNPC which was welcomed and answered by thousands of youth. The massive adverts in the dailies about NNPC recruitment gave it a seemingly transparent approach. However, how can it be explained that 19 months down the line, the experienced cadre of the recruitment is yet to see the light of day? The applicants who have been emotionally tormented for months without official feedback from NNPC on the outcome of the process have lamented the lack of transparency and accountability from the NNPC management regarding the recruitment process.

While some people have alluded to the fact that NNPC have a culture of holding inconclusive recruitment in the past (2014, etc), some of the youth believe that attention are not given to the poor masses but rather the process is usually hijacked by the ruling class for the benefit of their children (e.g. social media influencer handles such as Henry Shield etc....)

The youth professionals who applied for the experienced hire component of the recruitment and were interviewed, have asked why they are not being treated fairly even when their counterparts in the graduate cadre have received notifications for resumption. They said that the last time they heard anything from the NNPC management regarding their recruitment was from the NAPE webinar where Mr Mele Kyari the GMD was asked to comment on the recruitment due to outcry of the applicants. However, the response from the GMD 'that the process will be concluded soon' has only added more frustration to the waiting applicants. This kind of response can only be described as unfair and insensitive treatment to these Nigerians who are not only stakeholders in the coorporation but professionals who have kept faith with the management of NNPC and are willing and available to bring their professionalism and skills into the industry.

Furthermore, there has been ongoing and very active outcry on Twitter over this inconclusive recruitment with the hashtag #NNPC2019EHCLOSURE (The general public can check) but the management of the corporation seem to turn blind eye to the clamour by these Experienced Hire professionals who are mainly youths of this country. It is instructive to observe that social media has become the popular platform used by this generation to air their views and should be taken seriously by government.

World over, there is no recruitment conducted by a supposed world class company that lasts this long, worse still, with no communication on the status which should have given applicants assurance of transparency and accountability that the NNPC management profess in the much acclaimed 'TAPE' mantra.

Going forward therefore, the management led by Mallam Kyari is hereby requested to match his words with action and show the world that his reform at NNPC can be believed to be truly transparent by releasing forthwith, the outcome of the EH interviews completed since 2019.

This situation on the plight of Nigerian professional youths is also by this advertorial brought to the attention of the Honourable Minister of Petroleum, His Excellency, President Muhammad Buhari for his directives and implementation especially because of his open disposition to Transparency, accountability and fairness in activities of government.

It is our hope that this listening government will intervene swiftly and bring this lingering recruitment since 2019 to a final determination in order to arrest the building resentment and frustration on the common man especially to also discredit the popular mindset of Nigerians that only children of the elites and ruing class are employed to government agencies. We are only asking for employment letters to candidates who have been adjudged successful from the rigorous assessment stages without any further delay

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Family / Re: My Baby Is Just 4 Months And My Wife Is Pregnant Again, I Want Abortion by Vkemay: 11:25am On Oct 12, 2019
Withdrawal plus ovulation calculation(when very safe) plus condom(occasionally when not sure of safety) is the best pregnancy prevention.
In case of a new nursing mum who isn't menstruating(not sure of ovulation), condom on the husband's part is the best. This was my case.

My first is 5 year's old now, and I am just a few weeks pregnant. That was our desired spacing.

To achieve this requires a deep understanding on the part of both husband and wife, determination, selflessness and above all, having a set goals.
I am not totally against family planning pills/implants but hubby is.
To the poster pls keep the baby don't abort.
we learn from our mistakes and others too.
An uncle of mine was in the same situation 7years back, the wife became pregnant with a baby less than 2months.
Those two are like twin now.

to be sincere with you madam, your husband needs your support at this time, not forgetting that the deed has been done and you cannot undo that. More so, your sister is already taking the side of your niece irrespective of the fact that the allegation was true or not. the simple way of you getting to know the truth from your husband is by you making him to trust you, comport him and make him feel relax that it's no big deal though you worried in your mind. fight for him to and make your sister know that though she claim her daughter was a vergin before coming to you and you too trust your hubby that he can not engage in such. with this I'm sure if really he's guilty, he will be ashame of it and come out plain for you. Don't forget, he's the father of your four children. you still need him. This is your cross, you need to carry it.

I hope you will act your words, if such should happen to your daughter or If your wife got impregnated by your nephew.

This is the problem with the youths in that country, full of activity but no intelligence.

You took your time to criticise my input but failed to provide an alternative.

I raised very cogent points which you failed to address in anyway.

How does calling the 2 family solve the problem, were you there to know that the man is the owner of the pregnancy ?

The effrontery with which ignorant people write rubbish on this platform is mindboggling.

Desist from childish rants/tantrums, Your Statements are fatuous.

You need to understand that there is something called polygammy.
That is what your ancestors practiced so trying to pretend as if Africans have always been monogamous is something very stupid.

A lady with multiple partners is not the same thing as a man with multiple partners.

And for a lady in Africa, husband is an absolute necessity, I dont know where you live but you sound like you have been watching too much hollywood.

Dont you see how many threads single ladies in their 30s make everyday complaining of not seeing a spouse ?

If the wife leaves the man today, there are hundreds of ladies that will be glad to jump into that position and do you have another spouse for the woman ?

Stop saying husband is not a necessity , as long as you live in Africa it is.

Even If you have to practice polygamy, Must it be with your wife's relation?
I shiver at your gut. What kind of humans do we have walking on the surface of this earth?
Any man who could sleep with his wife's relation without blinking an eye will definitely do that to his Daughter. Facts!

Hahaha

I once attended a traditional wedding. It turned out the groom didn't have money to clear the bills. It was a huge embarrassment for the extended family members that escorted him. Our extended family got so angry that they resolved that before you take them to a wedding, you must bring the list to them and tell them how much you have.
