Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by Voiz234(m): 10:23pm On Jun 25, 2021
You will only need to show tuition balance for Year one plus maintenance fees for 9months
Folushaw7:
Hello House,

Teesside University Applicants or those already confirmed, please how much did you show on POF on a 2 years course (Tuition at £7,500 Per Year)?

Did you have to show the entire £15,000 + Maintenance funds OR just the First Year Tuition + Maintenance funds to get the Visa & CAS ?

Leeds is a lovely town, the third largest city in the UK hence there abounds a lot of jobs. There are lots of student jobs around, just register at a local job agency when you get here. Warehouse jobs, care assistant jobs are some of the most popular for students. Thank God for lifting of lockdown retail jobs too would be back. You should be able to pay your rent/and upkeep with this. (Even with min wage and working 20 hours/week). I believe by the time you get unconditional admission you will get a discount of 3k, and even possibly up to 4k. You pay a 5k deposit and balance before end of your course. not sure how the placement year works, because there is no placement year for Jan start (maybe thats why we got the massive discount).

Many thanks for the feedback. I already got 4k discount and I have sent them WAEC scratch card to fulfill the condition of the offer. Hopefully I will get the full payment structure as regards to placement year once the unconditional offer comes in.

Please I will like to get som clarification about Leeds Beckett as I am considering their conditional offer. I intend to study Data Science (Msc) with placement year. Kindly update me on the minimum deposit required for CAS and I will also like to know if the 14k tuition will be paid for each year of study or split into two for the 2years just like the case of Teesside University. Also, how is student life in Leeds especially with respect to part time Jobs for students.

Santa2:

@akanniade samething salford did to me.. Meanwhile I got stress free admission to Leeds Beckett over GBP 4000 less than salford on same course. About rounding up my first semester now and am grateful I went the beckett route(more friendly to my pocket. lol). My advise to prospective student would be to get as must industry relevant skill set as possible. And look at industry relevant internships while studying as this would provide you with experience (even if your school doesn't do placement). I am yet to get an internship but I believe I would get one soon. We moueeve

Politics / Re: Muhammad Ali Met Gowon In Nigeria In 1971 (Throwback Video) by Voiz234(m): 11:51am On Oct 08, 2019
This is not correct, Muhammed Ali holds God/Allah in high regards, such is documented below;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S8VwT2CEAA

NwaAmaikpe:
shocked

I remember his visit...But it was when he visited 042 in 1981.
We were lucky that he touched down at the Enugu Airport. Plenty female airport workers rushed him at the VIP lounge for pictures.
The roads from mainland to New Society, Emene were crowded with people trekking to the airport to behold the World's greatest.

I still have a few Polaroid pictures of this.

Muhammad Ali's downfall began when he allowed Elijah Mohammed and the NOI indoctrinate him into converting and changing his name from Cassius Clay.

He became so haughty that there was zero regard for God.
God can neither share his glory nor be mocked that was why he ensured his gradual nervous breakdown began the day he slammed his head on the ground.

Investment / Britain Plans To Add Naira As Trade Currency- Vanguard. by Voiz234(m): 11:46am On Feb 20, 2018
Britain’s export finance agency’s plan to add the Naira to its list of pre-approved currencies would boost the value of Nigerian currency, an economist, Prof. Okey Onuchuku has said. Onuchuku, who is the Director, University of Port Harcourt Business School said this, on Monday, in Port Harcourt while speaking with newsmen on the news of adding the Naira to Britain’s list of accepted trade currencies. Naira Britain’s export finance agency had said that the Naira would become one of three West African currencies that UK Export Finance had pre-approved for its programme of funding transactions that promote trade with Britain. The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Paul Arkwright, said Nigerian firms taking out loan in the local currency could benefit from a UK Government-backed guarantee. The director, who agreed with Arkwrigh’s submission, said trading in Naira meant that there would be demand for the Naira, to pay for what was being bought from Nigeria. He said “As a result of that, it will not only boost the value of the Naira but can also help us provide more foreign exchange for our local businesses. “That statement is quite right but my worry is that, if you look at the volume of transaction between Nigeria and UK, what are we giving them? What are they giving us? “What are their qualities in terms of transformation that will now determine the game? “Whether it will be more beneficial to them or to us, but I know it is going to be more beneficial to them.” Onuchuku, who is also a Professor of Economics and a member of the University of Port Harcourt Governing Council, said the question became imperative because “Nigeria is a major market where Britain can capture.’’ He, however, expressed the hope that Britain’s policy would assist Nigeria to grow its economy as well as better the value of the Naira. On UK providing up to 85 per cent of funding for projects containing at least 20 per cent British content, the economist expressed dismay that nothing was given freely. “They give you something, they take it away from one side; it means that even if they are financing that project, the financing must be tied to their own products. “They said, at least 20 per cent British content, which means that even the money they are giving to you to finance part of it will go back to them. “For you to get something that is British content, you have to get those facilities from them.’’ On what areas of the Nigerian economy can Britain invest, Onuchuku said it could invest in the manufacturing sector to transform the country’s raw materials to manufacture output and add value to the economy. He said this became necessary because the Nigerian manufacturing sector had been dormant and contributing poorly to the Gross Domestic Products. The director also said that Britain could invest in agriculture sector, saying Nigeria had vast arable land that could grow different types of crops. He also said that the effort would transform the agro sub-sector and add value to the nation’s economy. The professor also urged Britain to invest in crude oil sector, saying the modular refineries needed transformation to grow into the exportation of refined products to boost the nation’s economy.   Source: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/02/britain-plans-add-naira-trade-currency/

Business / Re: 6 Telecom Companies To Lose Operating Licences In Feb’2017 – NCC by Voiz234(m): 7:59am On Feb 01, 2018
Masking in Nigeria is done to fraud d system especially for international calls, they bill subscribers @ standard rates however they present the calls as local calls to avoid paying standard rate required on dre path. It also frustrate security agencies during investigation.
aikyg:
Interconnect clearing house is one of the leading interconnect companies in the telecommunication sector. The chairman of the company is Allison Madueke, Diezani's husband. A lot of telecommunication services will be affected if their license is suspended.
On number masking. I know number masking is legal in America. All you have to do is make sure that the number you are masking belongs to you. Maybe the number masking law in Nigeria is different. I hope they can find a common ground on this.
