Religion / Money Stolen Within A Banking Hall. by VORA: 7:41pm On Sep 17, 2013 |
A depositor went into a new generation bank to make cash lodgement and also to cash a cheque . He sat in between four other customers to write his details at the back of the cheque, after doing that he got up to pick a teller and also to drop his cheque with the paying cashier, but he left his bag behind, and in the bag was the cash he came to deposit. According to this customer, he took him few seconds to return to his seat. He came back and pick his bag to approach the receiving cashier only to discover the cash was no longer in there. He raised an alarm but two out of the four customers he sat with earlier had gone out of the bank. He reported the case to the head of operation and demanded that their CCTV to be replayed but the bank maintained that the CCTV 's recording is for their internal use. What do you guys think? |
Politics / Re: Patience - Amaechi And His Wife Refused To Pay Me Condolence Visit by VORA: 11:08am On Aug 20, 2013 |
Wife of Rivers State Governor, Mrs Judith Amaechi has paid a condolence visit to the King Perekule’s residence of the late Charity Obah, mother of the First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan. Mrs Amaechi who was accompanied by the state Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru and top government functionaries and their spouses had earlier received Dame Patience Jonathan at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa. The governor’s wife in her condolence message described late Mrs Charity Obah as a woman who has made appreciable contributions to the development of the nation. She prayed God Almighty to grant the Obahs family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. On learning about the death of her mother in a ghastly motor accident on the East-West road, the first lady had to cut short her foreign trip, making U-turn to the country, then to Rivers State where the late Mrs Charity Obah hails from. Celebrities / Governor Rochas Must Hear This! by VORA: 9:48pm On Jun 15, 2013 |
The Government of Imo must rehabilitate this man. True life story. A navy lieutenant was enlisted to become the military administrator of IMO state in 1976, his name is Emmanuel Adiele. Suddenly he ran mad and has been in that condition for the past 37 years in Nkwerre local government of IMO state. The Lords chosen church held a crusade in that locality recently and the insane man was delivered. I just watched this testimony on CRTV now. |

Nigeria: A giant dwarf. Hundred years old 53 years as an adult 14 years of marriage stability . Yet growth is retarted . Take a look at her potentials 8th largest producer of oil with 36 billion barrels external reserve of oil 6th largest supplier of gas with 100 trillion cubit feet reserved The largest economy in West Africa The 2nd largest in the continent 34 discovered mineral deposits 44 exportable commodities Vast arable land for cultivation Suitable climate Vibrant median age 18.63 years consisting of upward mobile human resources Large and vibrant market suitable for manufacturing demands. Yet the economy is crawling. Take a look at this: High poverty index. More than 100 million Nigerians feed on less than 160 Naira per day. Over 53 million Nigerians are illiterates Infrastructural decay and moral decadence . Over 300 billion dollars syphoned out of Nigeria to offshore economies between 1970 & now. Non oil growth at less than 5% Way forward. 1. Short term rewards No! Long term results. 2. High mark projects No! Land mark achievements 3. Increased GDP not enough, aggressive pursuit of economic development. 4.investment in equipment & machinery No! Investment in science & technology . India in 1998 realised over 2b dollars from the export of computer software 5. Investment in democratic institutions No! Investment in participatory approach at the local Levels. The private sector is the engine of growth of a nation. Comrade ranti Fawehinmi writes to celebrate democracy day |

Business / Halt ! Read This. It Will Change Your Life. by VORA: 10:48am On Apr 23, 2013 |
Halt ! Read this. It will change your Life. The Law of Vital few Midnight yesterday I read a post on my FB wall that men on suit feel good and comfortable, they think that they are okay in their wealth and well being only to realised at the end of time that they have been working for Men on jeans and Tshirts . It's a life paradox you don't want to be a victim of. Do you know this? That you've got to be financially free as you approach your declining age which can start in your 50s That your efforts so far can only put some money in your pocket and food on your table but cannot take you to the league of billionaires That if you were to be rich, you would have be by now That the world richest became hardworking only after they were rich That early birds catch the worm After this time of reading the tips , you will make up your mind on want you want from life, rope or rolls royce? Pareto Principle expounded. Also known as 80-20 rule, put simply, the law of the vital few. For many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes, according to Pareto who observed a phenomenon in 1906 discovered that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population. By extension to management , 80% of organizational sales come from 20% of the clients. The rule as it plays out. The poorest 40% of the worlds population account for 5% of the world income The richest 20% account for 3/4 of world income 100 richest people earned a total of 240 billion dollars in 2012, enough to end extreme poverty worldwide four times over. 10% of daily banking transaction in Nigeria are above 150,000 naira. The rest 90% deposit or withdraw less than 150,000 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day ( 160 naira a day) 10 banks hold 77% banking deposit in Nigeria. Stunning revelations , aren't they? The rich will get richer. Application of the rule to your life You can become what you want to become with this rule. Drop them in the garbage. Ideas that are too scientific. Great things come in small ways Kiss some people goodbye Redirect your energy to the most productive events Drop some products from your product line if you are a multi businessman Apply the rule to the nation, identify the 20% sector that delivers 80% revenue to the national income and play in that sector Identify with 20% of result oriented people around you . It is time for the emergence of first generation wealth owners. Ranti Fawehinmi. MBA. Life coach |

Politics / Ranti Fawehinmi Author Of Nigeria Legends Speaks On Achebe's Memoirs by VORA: 11:58am On Oct 05, 2012 |
Achebe on Awolowo "It is my impression that Awolowo was driven by an overriding ambition for power, for himself and for his Yoruba people. There is, on the surface at least, nothing wrong with those aspirations. However, Awolowo saw the dominant Igbos at the time as the obstacles to that goal, and when the opportunity arose – the Nigeria-Biafra war – his ambition drove him into a frenzy to go to every length to achieve his dreams. In the Biafran case it meant hatching up a diabolical policy to reduce the numbers of his enemies significantly through starvation — eliminating over two million people, mainly members of future generations." My reaction: On the contrary , Chief Awolowo was only motivated by his belief in Nigerian unity more the the nation Nigeria. In his book , Path to freedom, he described Nigeria in page 47 as a "mere geographical expression" . Nigeria did not evolve as a nation , but carved out , out of the need for administrative ease, with over 250 different languages expressing our cultural diversities and Manyness , but you can only talk of oneness where there is Manyness , this I believed was uppermost in the consideration of Awolowo with Biafra. He demonstrated this with the Unity Party of Nigeria. Awolowo stood for Nigerian Unity. |

Politics / Ranti Fawehinmi Pays Tribute To Gani Fawehinmi On 3rd Year Rememberance. by VORA: 7:17am On Sep 05, 2012 |
Ranti Fawehinmi pays TRIBUTE TO A LEGEND GANI FAWEHINMI . SAN, SAM - the Icon of freedom & Justice. April 22nd 1938 - Sept. 5th 2009. He was larger than life. An indefatigable fighter, a lover of the masses , a selfless and patriotic Nigerian. Words are numerous to describe a man who fought against the oppression of the poor, a man that dared the high and the mighty in government, a one man squad that fought the military regimes of IBB and Abacha to stand still. He was a phenomenon on earth, he became a reference point for freedom and justice after his exit. Gani, as was fondly called by Nigerians but in the home front among his siblings, he was called Ganiu, was a detribalised Nigerian. His love for his country transcend ethnicity and religious inclinations. This was confirmed when ex military head of state, General Buhari attended the burial of Gani's. Mother at Ondo in the South West Nigeria , a rare thing with the General, that gesture did not however sway Gani's opinion in favour of the General in the subsequent events that ensued, as had to do with Gani's ratification of the General's second coming into power. He was at all times ready to stand alone in his beliefs and principles. Here are some of my reminiscences of him, in 1978, he was awarded the traditional title of Lomafe of okedase in Ondo land, his elder brother Justice Rasheed Fawehinmi was awarded the chieftancy title of Loyinmi at the same time by Oba Adekolurejo. It was in recognition of the contributions of the duo to the development of the state, still out of Gani's convinction that one can see things better when you stand out and usually at the other side, he accepted the title but preferred the coronation which was for the same day to hold at different times of the day. I remembered again in early 2000s when ex President Clinton came to Nigeria soon after Nigeria returned to democracy from the military era, there were only 3 Nigerians to whom Clinton deemed recognisable as having fought for our democracy. In the words of Clinton, he said, Gani Fawehinmi Fought for it, Chinue Achebe wrote it and another Muscial Icon whom he said sang it. The "it" is the democracy whose benefit is being squandered by untrustworthy politicians that we have entrusted with the affairs of the nation. Take it or leave it, Gani Fawehinmi , the restless, Gani Fawehinmi the indomitable, Gani Fawehinmi the brave, fought for the liberation of Nigerians from the shackles of wicked reigns than anyone else. Fawehinism became a philosophy while he was alive. His beliefs became school of thought. His legacy is monumental, he left shoes too large for anyone to fit in. He was a colossus, an enigma and a rare breed. Gani left behind one of the biggest law Library in Africa, he left behind the National Conscience Party, he left behind many unswerving apostles of good governance . Therefore we shall arise and fight bad leadership and erring government. In the minds of those who love him Gani lives on!!! Now that you have exited, the good name you left behind will not be soiled. Eulogy Kare oma Aso Oja le onile bo tI e leyin Okurin wa, okurin wa wa wo wo Atapa ni sa u Olahun ha ha gbokunrin win Ma ba ja ma ba re. Alas! the great grand son of Lisa Alujanu lives on |
Politics / 5000 Note: One Not Necessary. By Ranti Fawehinmi by VORA: 2:29pm On Aug 27, 2012 |
5000 Naira note: one not necessary. by Ranti Fawehinmi I am writing as an economist and a custodian of political history. On the good side, Nigeria's Legends must be immortalised by naming institutions, public squares and other monuments after them, to that regard , the Central Bank of Nigeria did well in remembering the Heroines of our dear Nation. From the news making round, the note carries the face of Funmilayo Ransome Kuti , a woman activisit and Mother of three Legends, olikoye Ransome Kuti ( Nigeria's ex minister of health), Beko Ransome Kuti( a human rights activist), and Fela Ransome kuti ( a musical Icon that fought the Military regimes with his songs). Among the faces in the 5000 Naira note are : Margret Ekpo, a resilient activist who was nominated as a member of the house of chiefs for the eastern region between 1944-66. The face of Hajiya Sawaba also a political activist is also on the note. To a great extent, it is a worthwhile effort remembering their much contributions to our nascent democracy . Be that as it may, there is need for a thorough examination of the economic implications of the new note. Let's take a tour to the evolution of our currency notes and coins over the years remembering that cowries had once served as a legal tender in Nigeria. 1912-1959. The West African Currency Board issued currency notes to Nigeria The Central Bank of Nigeria took over the responsibility of currency issuance from West African Board following the central bank act of 1959 1999. The West African Currency Board notes & coins were withdrawn 13th July 1962, the hitherto currency was changed to reflect the current status of Nigeria. The civil war of 1967 compelled a change of notes. 1st January 1973, Nigeria changed to decimal currency and the major currency unit was named Naira and the minor unit called kobo 11th february 1977. A new bank note denomination of 20 Naira was introduced as the first currency note and the highest value as of then. July 1979. 1 Naira, 5 Naira , 10 Naira notes were introduced . 1991. 50k, & 1 Naira notes were made coins Dec 1999, 100naira note was introduced Nov 2000. 200 Naira note was introduced April 2001 .500 Naira note was introduced. October 2005 1000 Naira note was introduced Feb 2007. 50 Naira, 20 Naira,10 Naira,5 Naira bank notes and the 50k coins / 1 Naira were redesigned and a new 2 Naira coin was introduced. I could remember this vividly at some point in the history that the color or appearance of notes were changed and not an entire redesign . The planned introduction of the 5000 note by CBN Though the CBN governor has refused to comment on what the cost of printing the new notes will be, he has directed Curious Nigerians to find that out in their balance sheet for the year. A question that he probably does not have an answer for now until the chips are now but it is being speculted that the exercise may gulped over 40.3 billion naira, moreso that the 5000 note will be printed abroad as our Nigeria printing and minting company is said to be incapable and incompetent in handling this assingnment because of the unique features the currency note is bearing as if it is a majic note. Direct implication of a higher value note on a developing economy like Nigeria is captured below. Hyper - inflation: this is a sure resultant effect. Reduced purchase power. A derivative of inflation Currency devaluation. As long as its a single note, nobody cares if it's it's 5000 Naira that you are giving out. Nigerians by culture like it when it's many . Further widenenig the income divide between the super rich and low income earner, especially those below the minimum wage level in the private sector. Capital flight out of the country. The 40.3 billion Naira or whatever amount that will be spent on the printing of the new notes is enough to create jobs for the soaring number of unemployed graduates. It is an economic waste and diversionary policy. What becomes of the existing 5, 10, & 20notes? They will be converted to coins and the existing coins of 50k , 1 Naira& 2 Naira will become antiquity . Ultimately the new coins of 5,10, & 20 Naira will be abandoned , am sure from antecedents that Nigerians are weary of guarding the loins with an apron containing pounds of coins. In this slim fit age, everyone likes to travel light and not to be encumbered with sacks of coins. The New Note and The cashless policy. It amounts to policy duplication. What is cashless policy after all? It is the conversion of cash base transactions to electronic channels of payment. Nigerians are still grasping with the whole idea, much has not been done in terms of mass education and enlightenment campaign . The fifteen million unbanked population of Nigeria are not even part of this whole thing. Be that as it may, by the cashless policy the maximum cash deposit and withdrawals for individual on a daily basis is 150,000( one hundred and fifty thousand t Naira) transactions above this ceiling amount attracts penal charge of 100 Naira for every one thousand. So if Nigerians are willing to abide by this policy why the introduction of a higher note value almost about the same time. Doesn't it amount to insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians? Other countries like Zimbabwe , DRC who have gone this path in times past have bitter tales to tell. Ranti Fawehinmi is a policy analyst . |
Politics / Ondo 2013: Ranti Fawehinmi Takes INEC To Court by VORA: 6:55am On Aug 18, 2012 |
Ondo 2013: Ranti Fawehinmi goes to court Ranti Fawehinmi the flag bearer of African Rennaisance Party in the forth coming governorship election in Ondo State was yesterday the 17th of August denied the opportunity of obtaining candidate nomination forms at the state office of Inec barely 72hrs to the deadline for the submission of candidate list . The excuse was that the resident electoral commissioner was off duty on a working day. Similarly other principal officers that work with REC were also said not to be at work. The submission of form closes on Monday the 20th of August. When contacted, the national exco of ARP has demanded that Inec should issue the forms to them with a provision of extension of time for its submission. However , on the part of the party's flag bearer, ranti Fawehinmi ,he has vowed to turn to litigations to redress the matter if he's disenfranchised of the right to vote and to be voted for as enshrined in the constitution having met all preliminary requirements. |
Religion / Let's Go There. Sermon By Ranti Fawehinmi by VORA: 9:34am On Aug 12, 2012 |
Let's go there : series 1 . sermon by ranti Fawehinmi Text: 2 king 7: 1-20 Today sermon may not be for everybody. But it is certainly for everyone that Is desirous of moving into God's agenda for their lives. I came with an annoiting from the throne of Grace this Sunday morning to push you into God's designed and defined purpose for your life. And it doesn't matter whether you are ready for that or not but I hear a word in my spirit saying that you have dwelled on this mountain long enough, the mountain of not enough, the mountain of faithlessness, the mountain of barrenness , the mountain of joblessness, mountain of bachelorhood, mountain of spinsterhood, but as a messenger of hope , God sent me to you this beautiful morning to proclaim to you child of the living that the drought is over. Your days of warfare is accomplished, move to the pinnacle of celebration. Move to the zenith of happiness and fulfilment. If I were you now, I will jump to my feet and walk up to five people prophetically telling them that it is done. Hmmmm.hhen, you don't know what am saying to you yet, you don't even fathom what am talking about, it has not entered into the hearts of men the things that God has prepared for you but God is using me this day of the Lord to push you into His plans. The reason why it hasn't come yet Is because you have tried to work ahead of time, but His ways are not your ways, you look at days and calendars but He looks at times and seasons, child of the living God, your time for lifting has come. Your seasons of harvest and abundance has come. We are always afraid of what is ahead, it is the fear of unknown, it is the fear uncertainty . The four lepers had the option of remaining at the gate and die of hunger , lack and want, but they took their destiny in their hands and moved into Syria. Esther could have remained in her chambers and the his uncle modechai and the entire Jews would have perished, but she dared the consequence and moved in to the palace against all odds. I don't know how many are ready to move in this Sunday morning. Come on move man! Move It. Four reasons why we don't move 1. Fear of unknown . Can I tell you sweetheart, there is nothing scary ahead. Like Esther you won't perish .the hidden treasures of this world are locked up and under seal and watch by lions. But you need the braveness of David to kill the Lion first before you can rescue your tender lamb. 2. The comfort of your comfort zone. This is good but best is ahead. Go for the best. 3. Others are not moving. - so? You want to rather company with the chickens when God created you an eagle. Fly babe fly. You are not a chicken . Upon the wings of your father, the creator of heavens and the earth, I declare you free from the claws of forces that are holding you down. Fly in the name of Jesus. 4. Available alternatives. For as long as you have alternatives you may not care about the very one that God planned for you. Sarai was to settle for the alternative in haggar . Elikanah offered Hannah an alternative but she wanted God's own and she got Samuel. I don't know if you are ready for your Samuel? Let me bring this sermon to a close. God is ready fulfill His promises concerning you and I declare that you will not miss your season in Jesus name |
Business / Turn On The Heat By Ranti Fawehinmi by VORA: 12:04pm On Aug 11, 2012 |
You must read this if you are 40 years and above. TURN ON THE HEAT. There are milestone birthdays, clocking 40 & 50 are critical in terms of achievement. From 24-35, we are gulped with consumption and frivolities. 35-39 is the age of definiteness and seriousness. At 40 and above, consolidation and long term investment in fixed assets begins. At 50, you reap harvests on your investments, your money works for you. So if you are within this age bracket and you are behind in terms of achievement, please turn on the heat now. Why the heat? 1. To cover lost grounds 2. To free yourself from the grip of redundancy at your declining age 3. To have a retirement lifestyle that you would love 4 . To guarantee the future of your dependants when you are no longer there. How to turn on the heat 1. Double your efforts. 2. Utilise your resources well. You may have to cut down on consumptive lifestyle 3. Take on investments. Don't cry when it's not yielding, it will eventually pay off. 4. Its a joint effort .your spouse, your children all have roles in determining the future of the home. Carry them along. 5. Turn your back at scorns and laughs from peers and foes. You may not go with them anymore to all vacations, you may not change or trade in your car for a new one anymore until you have consolidated. Cars do not appreciate but land and housing does. 6. Go to the ant thou sluggard and learn the principle of investment . They store up their food when they can against the rainy days. Do all that you can now that you are still active. You don't want to wait on children to feed you in your old age. Wouldn't you be that grandpa and that grandma that will present a 2018 model of Honda Crosstour to your grandchild on his wedding day. Come on! Are you feeling me.? To be contd. I must go now to turn on the heat. Your life coach. Ranti Fawehinmi . |

Religion / Bible Study: Fulfilling My Purpose In Christ. Women Perspective Ranti Fawehinmi by VORA: 8:03am On Jul 15, 2012 |
[ BIBLE STUDY Topic. : fulfilling My Purpose In Christ: the women perspective Text Reading : John 6:38, Prov. 4:25, Eph 5:15, Isah 42:16 Memory Verse: Eph 4:1 short story At this point, we can't rule out malignancy," the doctor said. I just looked at my husband. I knew he was asking the doctor questions, but I didn't hear any words. I saw his lips moving and felt his strong hand on top of mine. But all I could think was I needed to wake up. ("This is not happening. I know I am just having a bad dream." It wasn't until I was in the front seat of our car that I realized it wasn't a dream. "Are we going home?" I asked. "No," my husband said. "We are going to get your ultrasound and more x -rays." "Oh," I replied. It didn't really matter where we were going, because all I could think of at that moment were the three beautiful children my husband and I have been blessed with. First, my thoughts went to Mikaela who was ten-years-old at the time. Without me, who would she talk to about boys? Who would show her how to put on makeup and help her pick out a college? But the most painful thought was... who would comfort her in her loss? For the past three years, Mikaela has accompanied me on the Race for the Cure breast cancer walk. She is well aware of the horrors of treatment. She's often commented about people walking in honor of a loved one. For her, I knew there would be no sugarcoating the truth. Then my thoughts shifted to Connor, my eight-year-old son (at the time) – an amazing baseball player who plays it cool with his dad and friends. He is an undeniably sweet boy who always writes a special card for me on Mother's Day. What would he do next May? Would he pretend to write a card, not telling his teacher that he has no one to give it to? Suddenly, I felt like throwing up. I asked my husband to pull over. Once back in the car, all I could think about was Delanie, who was our four-year-old princess at the time. She is so used to having both my husband and me tuck her in at night. She wakes up each morning with a smile on her face and kisses to spare. Have I made enough of an impact on her life that in 10, 12, 15 years from now she will remember me? Over the following three weeks, I was poked, prodded, and sliced. On the 22nd day, I found out that I did not have breast cancer. You would think that I would be so happy that I could not wait to get back to my normal routine. But no. Something happened. Going through that breast cancer scare changed my life in many ways. it was the discovery of purpose. Discuss this story Fate or faith. we wait for fate and circumstance to define purpose for us rather than employing faith to take us into purpose realisation and actualisation. Introduction For Christians, purpose is being and doing what God intends us to be and do: doing today what God asks us to do in our family, church, and community; being more like Christ; and then doing the distinct, bold work God designed us to do before we die!. There are 188 named Women in the Bible, and many others that are left unnamed. Some located their purpose as queens, some as prophetess and some could not locate purpose within purpose. Example is Micah. 1SAMUEL19:11, 1 SAMUEL 19:12-17, 1 SAMUEL 19:17. 2 SAMUEL 6:16. There is no accident with God, you are programmed at this time and that place for a purpose. A Biblical character that went for purpose. Esther. - A deliverer. Hadassah, Esther's Jewish name, comes from the word for 'myrtle', a tree whose leaves only release their fragrance when they are crushed. 1 Vashti was banished, and Esther became Queen (Esther 1 & 2) . 2 Esther saved Mordecai from Haman (Esther 3-8:14) 3 Esther saved the Jewish people of Persia (Esther 8:15-10) For discussions How do I find my purpose in Christ as a woman? 1. Who am I? 2. How did I get here? 3. Who and what needs me the most? 4. Who will cry when I die? examples of mortal women who lived a purposeful life. 1. Mother Teresa was sold out to the sick and the poor.. 2. Florence Nightengale Not only an inspirational nurse, she transformed modern nursing and medical care by pioneering a new level of hygene. Countless lives have been saved by the hygene practices she introduced to hospitals. 3.
