.poor you and your poor sense of comprehension:
Issue is not about an elderly man marrying a very young girl, but about multiple marriages, more so, about a man like Sanusi who is supposed to show others that it's not enough to say: I can take care of all my kids even with marrying a fourth wife. He is showing a bad example.
Hey..hey..hey! Why are you changing the issue at stake. Sanusi is vilified for marrying a "child". And now you are talking about polygamy, why the inconsistency. This type of marriages are prevalent in all parts of Nigeria including the south east.

Sometime I do wonder y some men cannot stick with one woman,is it not d same V that's with her that is their wife at home?men pls learn how to be stable with one woman
Madam you just have to understand one thing about men: we love variety and we like to explore...period! A man with a skinny wife would like to taste a fat one. And vice versa. And after many years with a wife or woman, a man would long for a new V for body renewal. I hope you have gotten the message.

Sir, since you left:

--Boko Haram has killed over 2,000 Nigerians.
--Our economy has lost over N1.5 trillion.
-- The people they accused you of begging to help fight BH because you were 'weak' are the ones they are begging to help us fight them also.
-- You have been accused of diverting loans that has NOT been released by China exim bank.
-- Foreign Direct Investment has reduced by over 60 %
-- We have not had a Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting since the last one you held.
-- Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, is now the federal minister of information. Why are you clever by half? Why don't you tell the whole story? I'd rather have steady electricity, buy fuel at 87 Naira, have improved security than a reverse of all the things you mentioned. Pray, what's the benefit of those things you mentioned when they don't reflect on the daily lives of Nigeria? Wailing Wailer continue till Jesus comes.

And worst of all, they have denied all the campaign promises made to get our votes.

I
obailala:
..and this is exactly the reason why I voted the 'dullard'. Because all I wanted was a no-nonsense leader who could appoint smart people and ALLOW them do their jobs without corruptly or cluelessly medling.

The same Emefiele worked under GEJ and he was the one who had to officially devalue the naira from 150 to 200. But the same Emefiele (because he now has a better boss) is the one supervising the rise of the naira and the speedy fixing of the problem.

Just the same way the same NOI worked under OBJ and grew Nigeria's economy from zero to greatness, that same NOI worked under GEJ and all she could achieve was a plundering of the entire financial resources of Nigeria and leaving us in massive debts even though the country enjoyed massive oil income boom under GEJ's 5 years.

More than ever before, I now understand the importance of having a good oga at the top. I can bet my life that even if PMB retains all Jonathan's ministers, those non-performers would suddenly become shining stars.

I still cannot understand however, why any sane person cannot see how GEJ's lack of leadership grip and authority was ruining this country. As a matter of fact, GEJ supporters still flaunt this his meekness as a good quality, meanwhile it is the worst quality required of a 'Nigerian' leader.
Spot on!
Business / Re: It’s N209 To $1 As Appetite For Dollars Falls by walwala: 11:42am On Aug 04, 2015
jjman2322:
I see there arent a lot of business men here or company owners.. Let me explain how things work before you keep applauding the CBN:

#1. In the USA, you dont need to deposit in other currencies because you can WIRE OUT YOUR USD to any country and they will convert it to their local currency.

What this means is that if im in USA, I have $50,000 USD in my account, i Can send that money to Japan, China, europe, etc.. This is not Possible with our NGN.. You can't wire Naira outside Nigeria without converting it first.. So the CBN governor is a donkey for comparing both countries.

Our currency is useless outside Nigeria. Some of you that have traveled out know you can't convert naira in UK, USA, China, however my dollars are good all over the world.

#2. This policy will lead to more unemployment. Lots of companies buy spare parts, machines from China, India.. Let me give you an example.

Say i need a new part for my machine, I get quoted $5,000 USD by a company in China.. The quickest most reliable way to pay them is to buy black market and deposit the cash in my DOM ACCT, then wire it off, and in 2 days they have shipped my part.

With the new policy changes, there is no easy way to pay for these parts.. LC's and Bill for collections are taking 3-4 months since the CBN does not have enough dollars for importers and manufacturers..

Let me explain in simpler terms:

If you wish to import raw material for production (which 100% of nigerian manufacturers do,(from plastic, to pharma, etc), then you have two ways of paying for the raw material:

LC = Letter of credit, which basically means the bank in Nigeria debits your account, then once the shipper ships he gets the funds..
Last year and two, LC's were getting approved in 1-2 weeks. Now it is taking 3-4 months, so many manufacturers now source black market funds to pay for raw materials.

Bill for collection basically means the shipper ships on credit and you submit the paperwork to the bank for payment. CBN usually approved the funds in 1-2 weeks, the last bill for collection submitted by my company took 4 months for approval. If it were not for black market we would have stopped production and had to lay off people.

Many of you aren't into business and you don't understand what is going on. Let me explain in simple terms.

What this simply means is that lets assume you have N5,000,000 and you want to go tour around and have fun in Europe:

Back then, you could convert your Naira into dollar, pay into dom acct, then travel and have fun.

Now the only OPTION is Naira card which now thanks to CBN has daily ATM limit of $300/USD per day, and maximum $50,000 per year spend per customer.

For the average poor person who never crosses the border, this doesnt affect them. However, many Nigerians need to access more than $300/day and $50,000/year.

Also, lets assume you want to buy a new car for your child in USA. Value of car = $20,000. Back then you go to mallam, buy $20,000 USD, send it to your child ($10,000 per day CBN LIMIT) and in 2 days your child buys the car. Now with the new rule your child better get used to taking the bus.

What the CBN effectively did is prevent many law abiding Nigeria from remitting funds abroad. Its kinda like banning driving at night because armed robbers operate at night.

For the average person , this policy is meaningless. For the rest of us business men who source parts, products abroad, we are in for hard times.

Goodluck all
The most unintelligent post I have ever read not on this thread but on Nairaland as a whole since becoming a member 10years ago.
I wonder how some people can be daft, myopic and clueless. Nigeria needs to take care of most if not all her citizens. Laws and regulations are made for the benefit of all. Take the argument that most Nigerians are so poor, they don't cross the border. And so are not affected by the new CBN policy. So what? If most Nigerians are living fine and are restricted from the renter system of the thieving elite, so be it.

Again he said, if a father wants to buy a car for his child n America, the new CBN policy makes it impossible. 90% of parents with kids in foreign unis are corrupt govt officials, businessmen and politicians. Just check it out.

Again he talked about manufacturers willing to import machinery. Most of this so called factory owners are nothing but round trippers, money launderers and fraudsters. They hide under the guise of importing machinery to perpetrate fraud. Let me hear work...Abeg!

Politics / Re: SSS Raids Col. Bello Fadile’s Home, Seizes Computer Hard Drive by walwala: 8:29am On Jul 18, 2015
Guseh:
Some operatives of the State Security Services on Friday evening searched the Abuja home of Bello Fadile, a close confidant of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

Dasuki and Fadile were placed under house arrest by the Service Thursday and released late Friday. Mr. Fadile was visiting Mr. Sambo on Thursday evening when SSS operatives forced their way into the former NSA’s home in the Asokoro District of Abuja and placed all occupants under house arrest.

A security source told PREMIUM TIMES that after the arrest order on Mr. Dasuki was lifted, the SSS operatives threw Mr. Fadile into the one of their vehicles, after which they searched his home. It is unclear what the SSS officials were looking for.

Mr. Fadile served as director in charge of special duties when Mr. Sambo held sway as NSA. A source familiar with the SSS operation told PREMIUM TIMES that “after searching the house, they took away a computer hard drive from Fadile’s personal computer and promised to return it as soon as they are through with it”.
While they were under house arrest, the SSS agents took away all vehicles found at Mr. Dasuki’s home including that of Mr. Fadile. Our source said the operatives promised to return his vehicle to him “as soon as investigations are concluded”. It is not clear what the agency is investigating Mr. Fadile for, and detectives didn’t say why they arrested him, and later raided his home.

The Director General of the Service, Lawal Daura, had earlier on Friday told PREMIUM TIMES he was not aware of a siege or arrest of anyone by the SSS.

www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/186862-sss-raids-bello-fadiles-home-seizes-computer-hard-drive.html

But this Bello Fadile was a top staff in the campaign organization of Jonathan. He made efforts to submit a petition to Jega when the results of the 2015 presidential election were been announced at the National Collation Centre. So in addition to his partisanship he still held a directorship position in the office of the NSA. I smelt a rat!

This something a lot of younger people don't know. What is 'Imo state people'? Igbos that illiterate military men like Buhari named after the Imo river. What is Anambra state? Igbos that a military idiot named after the Anambra river. Even Nigeria is named after a river. This 'divide and rule' tactics really worked well for the Northerners. When get Biafra, one of the first things we shall do is abolish all the states and bring back regions. As for Okorocha, he should perish any thought of being president. I'm a proud Igbo man and Biafran, I don't care about Igbo presidency because I aspire for something better but if an Igbo should be president of Nigeria, it should not be Okorocha
Its people like you that are a problem to Aligbo. What's Okorocha's crime? It's because he's pan Nigerian? Igbos have to decide if they want Nigeria or not; this prevarication is disgusting.

Akinsnaira:
People should piss off over this insinuation that Obj contributed to Buhari victory, even Tinubu. By saying this they are putting the man under immense pressure of dancing to the tune of these corrupt hawks in our society, by doing this Nigerians are not giving Buhari free hand to operate, this is democracy not military, all these insinuations will have far reaching effects on the new government. Nigerians are so daft to still be giving Obj political relevance after all he had done to this country.

I can say it and anybody can quote me, Obj has no impact in Buhari victory, even Tinubu might just have little impact but that doesn't mean Buhari would have lost without Tinubu. By aggregating all the votes Buhari used to win SW over Jonathan, they are not even up to 1million votes, if it had happened in other way round that APC got the number of votes as PDP and vice versa, Buhari would have still won Jonathan by close to 1million votes. We should be clear about this, people voted for Buhari simply because of his anti-corruption reputation and as they are tired of corruption drenched government of gej, not because of political figures in APC who might start portraying themselves as the godfathers of the new government.

Nigerians should be careful for how they give these inconsequential elements undue relevance for the epoch-making victory recorded by Buhari in the poll, to avoid playing our future and aspirations in the new government into the hands of these old foxes that have been ruling this nation since its inception. Because it is we the masses that will lose if Buhari start listening to these people, this is democracy not military, which means there are protocols he must observe if pressure starts mounting. Let our words support this man and echo the unflinching supports by all that made his victory possible so as to keep him on his toes at all time.

We want the change, we got it, no thanks to any political godfather whosoever
Fantastic analysis. I was impressed by your disection of the results SW. Truly Buhari could have won even if the results were the other way round in the SW. So Tinubu should stop beating his chest that he brought this govt.

Politics / Re: Emir Sanusi Set To Take 17-Year-Old Girl As Fourth Wife by walwala: 4:52pm On Jan 04, 2015
I believe we need to cross check some issues here. First is the story true? because I am beginning to doubt what I read in the media these days, since the Sahararporters false news on Ayisha, who was said to have dumped PDP (after winning ticket) for APC. Secondly, we need to confirm the age of the girl. Marrying a fourth wife isn't bad, provided he will ensure justice to all the wives.
Islam is a just and considerate religion. It solves social problems. If every man is to marry one wife, they're will be surplus women around the country and the world. How would the unmarried women satisfy their biological/physiological need. FYI, there are 20 million illegitimate children in America who are roaming the street. They have no home and no care. All the commentators on this forum who are against SLS, are insincere. I have come across a thread here on NL on "list sex joint in your area and your sexcapeds". You will be amazed at the level of moral decadence, promiscuity, adultery and formulation that is going on this country, 90% in the south. Make no mistake ,the southern part of this country is civilisation run amock.

Politics / Re: Nasir El- Rufai Wins APC Governorship Ticket In Kaduna by walwala: 7:54am On Dec 05, 2014
The people of Kaduna have to realise the kind of character that is elrufai. He has contempt for constituted authority. He lacks respect for elders and worse of all, he is inconsistent and an opportunist. I will explain.
Mallam Nasir accepted to serve in Obj administration in 2003 after one of the worst election rigging in Nigeria's history. At the end of the govt in 2007, a terminally ill Yar'adua was imposed on us, Nasir it was, who vigorously campaigned for him, with hope of getting an appointment from Yar'adua. When nothing came for him, he fell out with him and went into exile. In fact, shortly before that 2007 election, Nasir made a famous quote, that the future of Nigeria lies with the PDP remaining in power.
When he returned from exile, he gravitated to Goodluck Jonathan and was bad mouthing Buhari. He said and I quote," Buhari is perpetually unelectable because of his insensitivity to Nigeria's diversity and parochial focus". Now this same man is hiding under Buhari's integrity to ride to power. What inconsistency!
Again, at the formation of APC, he said, he is in politics not to contest for election but to ensure credible and competent people are elected to positions of responsibility. Why is he now running for the governorship of Kaduna state. So it has always been a grand design of opportunism.
I can't trust Elrufai with my vote! The people of Kaduna need to remain resolute and determined to make sure this character does not get close to the govt house.
