Pets / Re: Delivery And Transportation Of Pups..help Needed Here by whitebrown(f): 5:42pm On Aug 12, 2014
Hi there,

You need a box like this or plastic travel boxes which most vets sell, a water bottle & you can get your vet to sedate puppies before your journey just to calm them, you can feed your dogs before or after that is up to you & remember to layer your box with newspapers it helps to clean the mess in the cage. Some people give glucose & water when the puppy gets to their last destination to stabilize them, you can ask for more info from your breeder or vet & lastly as a responsible dog owner make sure vaccinations are up to date 2 weeks before travel.

Pets / Re: Please I Need Advice. My dog aint growing! by whitebrown(f): 12:16pm On Aug 06, 2014
Hi, if the pupp is not growing and the feeding is ok, it might be something predisposed in the bloodline,I.e genetics. Multivitamins are just a waste of money and ritualistic. Worms can't completely stunt a pupps growth, though it will lead to general poor conditions and less than desirable growth. There is no sane food with 75% protein( that will be abnormal) and even 40% will be too high. For a large breed dog, 28% is the ideal and if it's a working dog, 30% is ok. But note that it's not about the protein content alone, but more about the source( I.e, is it a usable protein). If you give a good food with quality protein, and you have dewormer with a good dewormer recently and the situation is not improving and the environment is fine I.e the pupp is not kept under a stressful condition and allowed to play and run around and still no improvement, then it's a genetic problem. Remember that though the parents might be okay in size, but they may have that gene in them and the gene can become dominant or resurface in the pupp. Some traits even are known to resurface after 3 generations. Lastly stay away from supplements, they will create issues for you.
Pets / Re: What I Need To Know Before Importing Boerboel Dogs From South Africa by whitebrown(f): 7:46pm On Aug 05, 2014
Advise to you, if you can, DO NOT buy adult dogs, trust me, you will be glad you didn't. Their is no short cut in breeding and nothing like quick returns, I have been in breeding since 2001, and seen it all. There are no bargains especially of dogs that age and what you get is what you pay for. Even if you were to get a good deal, it wouldn't be from the big breeders you looking at, you will need a desperate one probably in financial trouble. Remember once the dog is sent, you can't revert with any complains and again pictures are never always a true reflection of the dog. Even if you find a good puppy, it's always advisable to get someone to go check it out and give you a true 'picture' of the pupp. Summarily be very very careful, buying adult dogs is a very delicate issue and you either need to really know the breeder personally or rather play safe and consider getting a good puppy from a litter. My 2 cent advise, goodluck. Regarding breeders, you can check them up on facebook or better still, go on boerboel enthusiast, lastly there is nothing like a breeder who has the best dogs, litters vary in quality and you should be more concerned about the lineage, because having a good looking male and a good looking female does not guarantee good puppies, you need to know the bloodlines and which compliments which and which ones clash. Atimes breeders will be selling a perfectly healthy male and female adolescent dog, but trust me, most times, only they know exactly why they are selling them and it could even be that they trying to get rid of some blood in their breeding stock.

@nosike3
Did you not read that the poster said 'his wife' and 'his family'? How do you write such senseless utter rubbish about someone's wife? Even if you are 15 yrs of age, is that the way you have been taught ? Is that how much we respect the women in our society now? You are an embarrassment and disgrace to your society, culture and religion, I really weep for my country . Well you will find your match, certainly you will get married someday and you will know exactly how it feels for your wife to get insulted and washed down by some brainless idiot like you, anyway I doubt if you'll even care because its obvious that whichever jungle you're from, women are used as toothpicks! Just one of those we need to rid our country of and we'd have a better place to live.
Politics / Re: Should I Return To Nigeria? by whitebrown(f): 5:17pm On Apr 04, 2013
Firstly, It is very sad the way some people are so eager to swear and curse and insult, even if the poster's question seemed a bit insensitive, is it too much to respectfully reproach and correct? I wonder atimes the age of some contributors on nairaland. @ playmode I also reside in SA and have been for over a decade but I will share my experience with you. From your post, I can infer that you have been absent from Nigeria for far too long, you have lost touch with reality, the longer you stay away from home, the more difficult it is to return, over the decade, I have not ever for a period of 1 yr never visited home atleast thrice, not really visit in the real sense of it but from the onset , I chose a line of business involving trade between the two countries, moving back to Nigeria is not just about packing and finding accommodation and going there to start a business, Nigeria is a country with unique dynamics, definitely easier to do business in, and a great place affordability, SA is like most of the western countries, I do travel very very much and host friends who come down on holiday and we get to sit and talk and I promise you, if you don't leave sentiments and start looking home, you will be so so so lost and behind. First thing you need to do is decide whether you really want to and ready to return home, because if you are all the things you listed are not enough to deter you. Secondly I am not advocating relocating your family suddenly, but your wife needs to make up her mind whether she wants a husband or infrastructures, I believe wherever the mans goes, the wife follows, it's called love and support, lastly from my experience, people build their world and comfort around them in Nigeria, start your business and then you can always buy your comfort, if Nigeria is now growing economically at such a phenomenal pace, what would you be looking for anywhere else, just to finish off, fuel for your car?affordable;food, I mean great food?affordable; cash? We are a cash economy, I.e no credits, no accounts, no lawyers or debt collectors chasing you with phone calls and credit bureaus and blacklisting etc; lastly the most loving and amazing people, my wife comes to Nigeria with or without me and when I hear her talk of Nigerians and calls them 'my people' , it atimes takes me a while to even remember that she isn't Nigerian and she lets me in on what's happening in the social circle in Nigeria including the latest musics LOL, your wife needs to open up and decide!

Politics / Re: South African Wives Of Nigerians Protest In Johannesburg by whitebrown(f): 11:28am On Mar 24, 2013
I read this thread with dismay and sadness seeing the kind of animosity and hatred between two countries whose synergy can really bring a lot of respect to Africa as a continent. I also believe as a Nigerian who has resided here in SA for well over 10 yrs now that a lot of enlightenment is needed. Firstly scam marriages have been in existence all over the world for decades I believe, but lets pause and ask ourselves a question, is it normal even if its a scam marriage to be married to someone you don't know or have never seen? Yes, it's the reality, it's no news here that hundreds of ladies and women go to the home office for one reason or the other only to find out that on the system they are married to some Nigerian or Pakistani without their knowledge. Female SA identity documents are stolen , picture on it removed and another picture inserted, the person whose pic is now inserted will go to the home office impersonating the original bearer of the I.d and will be married to a nigerian. The problem is status change affect a lot of things , bank account , life policies etc, I have even seen a situation where this scam marriage was only discovered after the original I.d owner died and the mortuary refused to release the copse no one except the spouse who no one knew not even the ladies child and it was chaos. When a young nigerian man arrives at the home office for marriage with a rural woman 45 years older than he and the woman can hardly speak a word of English and they can even see nerves all over the guy, dont you think the home office pick up all these. How long do they stand and watch? People do scam marriages, barely a month after they obtain their citizenship, they are filing for divorce, don't you think these events spark curiousity? Secondly, the issue of Nigerians involved in drugs and 419 is just out of control here, come to kempton park or Hillbrow, you will be ashamed and embarrassed for us as Nigerians, Nigerians back home see nothing and hence I understand the resentment of people resenting us, but come to these places and you will be angry, and this is why once people visit nigeria, the impression changes, the way Nigerians are on the loose here, it's not out of place to think Nigeria is just a country where drugs are sold at bus stops and every computer in every home is used for 419. 419 is so known here that you will almost not believe its a Nigerian Criminal code. Nigerians are not the only ones involved in criminal activities here, but we are by far the loudest , we believe in parading and making noise, we draw attention to our selves. I frequent the airport a lot and always as in 90% of the time, their are always human remains in coffins being flown home, right there you will my fellow brothers even arguing and all I hear is ego and lots of them even kill and set up each other. You find the other tribe also doing their credit card scam. We are are own biggest enemies and we need to earn world wide respect but it begins with us.

I read with utmost disgust, irritation and shame your lashing out at Nigeria the way you have been doing. My question do you have any ties at all to Nigeria ? If you do, you are indeed a lost lost soul who still Iives in mental captivity. I don't reside in Nigeria and by the way I am very very well travelled , but I tell you, as much as these countries do have a lot to be admired, Nigeria has a lot that can never be bought, it's a country of loving people, with rich culture, heritage and even the economy is improving and things might have started late but it will get there someday. Even the black Americans who don't know much of their ancestral background refer to Africa as home, I see lots and lots of the black actors and musicians come to SA to perform and they say it's nice to come home to Africa. We are talking African pride and renaissance, you are walking backwards. Regarding the negative image Nigerian has even with people whom had never had any interaction with a Nigerian, it's idiots like you who drag your country down and aggravates these sentimements. People are yearning for belonging, colonial slaves like you are begging to be resold into captivity. You are to date the worst case of "colonial brainwash", are you that fascinated about the tall buildings, neon lights, electricity and sights of those racist white people that you so believe you are in paradise?daily is your entire extended family in Nigeria that impoverished that your opinion about Nigeria is that everyone is hungry and malnourished? I don't know how old you are but you need to get a life really, please you are really really really embarrassing yourself , can't even believe the things you writing! Gees!

Health / Re: How Can I Lose Weight Without Exercising?? by whitebrown(f): 4:18pm On Jun 22, 2012
2 ways unhealthy & the unhealthy way

Healthy way
Excersice( running, sit ups, lunges & push ups) or Zumba DVD & dance you fat away, lol. Pls remember you gained all this over time, so don't expect t loose it overnight.
Eat healthy, oatmeal porridge or bran cereal, veggies ( sweet potato, lettuce, cabbage, carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, coliflour, green, red, yellow peppers, beans, brown rice, brown pasta, fruits but minimize bananas & lots of grape fruit. Your meat should be lean e.t.c turkey, skinless chicken as the skin of chicken harbours most of the chicken fat, lean part of beef, fish, tuna in water not oil, substitute your oil with olive oil instead if you can & steam most of your food or grill never dip fry, cut down on salt & use cinnamon on your food as it helps stabilize your blood sugar in order to control cravings, lots & lots of water as it flushes out your system.

Unhealthy way
Cayenne pepper, pineapple, maple syrup & water, mix into a concoction & drinking that for 10-15days without food, hope you survive this lol.
