I don't understand why people find it so easy to just talk to anybody anyhow behind their phone... what have I said that warrant such from you... was only asking if a visa fee is still valid after a delay... All you could do is talk anyhow to someone you don't know. It is very wrong, mind the way you talk to people... No one knows tomorrow.
I still maintain your aversion to knowledge. The person that was delayed already paid another 64k on 27th but couldn't get a near date. He needed to know what to do with the new 64k. Learn to read before jumping into conclusion. Thank you.

Mr man, why are you so averse to knowledge. Stop displaying your high level of ignorance in the public. A simple google search is all you need.

Was thinking this too. But is there a way i can manage the appointment schedule so ill still be able to use this '64k'
Sorry about the delay bro. The 64k visa fee is valid for a year, so you can still use it for fall.
Or, mail the school to give you concessional extension before your next interview in Jan. VO would see the updated i-20 and it won't be an issue.

No be small thing my brother, I first saw a change of status and later got text to pick up my documents. Yours should be issued on Wednesday, hopefully.

AP Changed to Issued
December 11 was strictly a denial and an AP day. Aanexplus and others can relate. When I almost heard your visa has been... The VO said I'll have to place a check on your documents and get back to you in few days. Mehn! I check my status every 2hrs, AP may appear worse than outright denial because you're practically stuck until they respond. He collected every damn document (Certificate, Transcripts, Professional Licence, GRE, TOEFL SCORES, Account statements...)

Interview at window 7
Me: Good morning, how was your weekend
Vo: Good morning, pass me your documents

Vo: Tell me about the program
Me: I'm going to WCU to pursue my masters degree in public health, it's a 2yr and 45unit course, I'll offering 24units of core courses and 21units in my major, some of the courses include Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Transcultural health, Behavioral health.... After the program, I would come back to Nigeria to establish my community pharmacy and partner with NGOs or Federal ministry of health.
Vo: I don't see any relationship between this degree and coming to establish a community pharmacy.
Me: no, this degree focuses on preventing diseases, promoting health and prolonging life. These are what I do on a daily basis at a community pharmacy
Vo: Nodded, okay...started checking my job description on DS160. Tell me your duties at your place of work
Me: I manage and oversee the smooth running of the pharmacy, I'm involved in procurement and inventory management of medications, I counsel clients on the appropriate use of medications.
Vo: did you take GRE, tell me the breakdown
Me: I did.
Vo: Tell me the prescriptions you fill
Me: I wasn't expecting that, I told him I fill prescriptions for OTC (over-the-counter) drugs such as aspirin, paracetamol, POM(prescription only medicines) antibiotics, opioids...cuts in
Vo: who's paying for your trip
Me: my dad and uncle
Vo: what do they do
Me: told him
Vo: do you have their account statements
Me: yes
Vo: lemme have them, give me GRE results. What other documents do you have?
That's how I gave everything
Vo: gave me white paper and said he'll be placing a check on them.
People were congratulating me and asking me to 'wash' it for them.. They always think once you are not with you passport, you've gotten your visa. I couldn't wash my AP then but now I can.
All thanks to this great thread. My conscience will keep disturbing me if I don't share this transcript. Wishing all the new applicants, the very best in their interviews. Peace!

Me: Consultant and researcher.

VO: am sorry you are not qualified.

Please help me out, I need to refire.
Sorry about the denial but don't be too quick to refire. Have you considered why you were denied?
Your responses were cursory and you gave contradictory answers at the bolded. Think about all these so as not to waste another 64k.

Okay. Ive posted my situation here sometime ago but there was no major response. I feel i should post again cuz interview date is nigh and mans nervous.

First, im 28. And im going for undergraduate BA fine art. I left high school in 2006. I went for bsc in local government administration in 2010, OAU. Finished in 2015. NYSC 2016 till April 2017. Im a full time portrait artist @scaezar on IG. But im selftaught but i want to start from the roots uno. I want to be a fineart student.

Im going to troy university. Gotten admission. Only toefl was needed. Got 91. 6k scholarship because of my WAEC result. Dad is sponsoring and im using his hotel's SOA.

Im not going to ask any question in particular. Can anybody just gimme pointers or advice? What do you think? If you were a VO, what would you think? Would you believe? Am i even asking y'all the right questions? EJHUR, E HELP MI
The Scaezar I know is a brilliant and hardworking fine artist. Sadly, the VO doesn't know this and you would need to engage in a convincing discussion why/what
1) you didn't pursue this degree in a Nigerian uni
2) this degree would offer you
3) you're going for another undergraduate degree
4) aren't you going for masters degree that relates to your last degree.
Answer all these questions and assess them if they're convincing enough to earn you your visa. I wish you good luck and God's favor.

Art, Graphics & Video / The Science Of Why No One Agrees On The Color Of This Dress | WIRED by Wolexy1212(m): 9:39pm On Feb 27, 2015
But for the past half-day, people across social media have been arguing about whether a picture depicts a perfectly nice bodycon dress as blue with black lace fringe or white with gold lace fringe. And neither side will budge. This fight is about more than just social media—it’s about primal biology and the way human eyes and brains have evolved to see color in a sunlit world.

Light enters the eye through the lens—different wavelengths corresponding to different colors. The light hits the retina in the back of the eye where pigments fire up neural connections to the visual cortex, the part of the brain that processes those signals into an image. Critically, though, that first burst of light is made of whatever wavelengths are illuminating the world, reflecting off whatever you’re looking at. Without you having to worry about it, your brain figures out what color light is bouncing off the thing your eyes are looking at, and essentially subtracts that color from the “real” color of the object. “Our visual system is supposed to throw away information about the illuminant and extract information about the actual reflectance,” says Jay Neitz, a neuroscientist at the University of Washington. “But I’ve studied individual differences in color vision for 30 years, and this is one of the biggest individual differences I’ve ever seen.” (Neitz sees white-and-gold.) source: http://www.wired.com/2015/02/science-one-agrees-color-dress/

Politics / 1,000 Clerics Leading Me To Govt House —fayose •as He Takes Oath Of Office Today by Wolexy1212(m): 6:42am On Oct 16, 2014
THE incoming governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose, has said he would not enter the state Government House until 1,000 clerics he had assigned for the purpose exorcised the place after his inauguration today.

Fayose had announced on Tuesday evening that no fewer than 1,000 Christian and Islamic clerics were expected to perform the spiritual cleansing of the newly-constructed Government Lodge at Oke Ayoba, which was officially opened on Sunday by Professor Wole Soyinka and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal.

“I am inviting all our men of God to lead us to Oke Ayoba Government House on Thursday (today) to do the spiritual cleansing of the place. They (clerics) would be in front, we shall follow them. Our men of God would use the power of prayer to conquer whatever evil that is there,” he said.

Fayose said the clerics were welcome from all the 16 local government areas of the state.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti, venue of the inauguration ceremony, just as the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Taiwo Lakanu, said adequate security had been provided in all parts of the state.

Lakanu, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti and signed on his behalf by Mr Victor Babayemi, said “the police personnel have been mandated to embark on thorough stop and search of persons and vehicles, to prevent troublemakers from infiltrating venues.”

He added that the police had “deployed bomb disposal units, counter-terrorism units, Police Mobile Force and Swift Response Force, including conventional and plain cloth detectives, at strategic positions, to ensure an uneventful and crisis free ceremony.” SOURCE:www.tribune.com.ng/news/top-stories/item/18819-1-000-clerics-leading-me-to-govt-house-fayose-as-he-takes-oath-of-office-today

Ode ni e @chinaimporter, your rantings are gibberish. Knowledge is far from you. Nairaland gives you a platform to learn but I doubt if you can ever learn. Y changing your identity when your username has said it all.
Chinaimporter: @bushdoc9919

Well, I daresay the idea behind nurse-consultants is to possibly improve training for nurses too....so that they become more than techies.

so if you call them consultants, that makes them better trained or same old nurses with a bigger name.....nobody is against a specialist nurse but nurse consultants is a misnomer

Pharmacists are very important in patient treatment....and yes, we doctors do rely on them for advice.(I am grateful to a hospital pharmacist who pointed out an error in one of my prescriptions once)

Who said they are not important at all, i also relied on a hospital cleaner to tell me that i was not well covered ( torn gloves)while handling an ebola patient....does that make such a person want to head a hospital

Well, some of them do undergo training too...serious training(After all, you do need a lot of knowledge of basic medical science to run a lab!And some lab techies are university graduates....the guy who headed the hospital lab where I did my housejob was a graduate.)

I said some are now graduates and off course bar tenders undergo serious training

See my previous comment.....and they do help us docs prescribe right too(The good ones at least).

Infact most are good at their jobs but what do they do.....everybody is good at handing out something

Now that's not true...I have friends who are pharmacist....including one who recently got a PhD in the subject...and she never wanted to be a doctor...na pharmacist from day one.(And I too wanted to be a pharmacist....but thanks to advice from a medical doc friend of my parents...).

I said most of them not all and most nigerian know this

In America, hospitals are not run by medical doctors....they are run by hospital administrators...and hospital admin is a course on its own (Chris Ngige , the politician, is a trained medical doctor with a diploma in hospital administration). As a doc, I don't mind a nurse running a hospital...so long as s/he does not interfere with my clinical decisions(Plus, any good administrator would give leeway to his or her expert employees).

The question is would they not interfare and if they do and they are heading it, what will you do? Cmon nigeria is not america....hsopital admistration is an MBA course geared towards profit making not effective management of a government hospital

Still, the issue really is funding....and the fact that in this country we have a funny idea about titles and salaries. Both need revamping.

Funding is always an issue everywhere....even in usa
(I am a medical doctor....and a NMA member).

I am a physiotherapist, a molecular biologist .....and a full johesu member and i dont think you are a doctor because your logic stinks unless you are a bush quack as your username implies
