Family / Re: Help: My Younger Brother Disrespects Me Alot by Xano(m): 1:09pm On Dec 08, 2020
kenwills:

He is 17yrs old and I'm 26yrs.
Whenever I caution him he looks for another way to make fun of me.
I do give him money sometimes.

In some instances, parents are at fault, because when inform them, their response is not adequate.

My advice:
Treat him as if he does not exist. Do not respond or at look him. Walk pass him. Ignore him completely. Do this for several months.

If he deliberately walks into your lane, slap the hell out of him. Then walk away.

If he walks up to you when you are in conversation with your guys verbally humiliate him. He wouldn't come again.

The above advice might be extreme, but DON'T change for him to respect you. You are the elder brother, be one.

since the universities have laws governing them, let them pay themselves using internally generated funds they dont remit anywhere

One answer: TSA
Education / Re: IPPIS: FG Paid Some Professors N8,000 As Monthly Salary – Abiodun Ogunyemi by Xano(m): 12:28pm On Oct 30, 2020
ChiefS:

It negates the law governing Universities. The principle of autonomy which took ASUU many years of strike . It does not capture the peculiarities of lecturers. Lecturers have specific allowances that support publishing in journals and attending conferences. A lecturer is expected not only to teach but do research which should be published in journals and presented at conferences. The cost of publishing in local journals range between 35 and 100k. While open access international journals cost between $1,000 and $2,500. This he does using his lean salary. No lecturer is promoted without having a good number of publications in local and international journals. The mantra in academics is "publish or perish".

Those attributing lecturers' rejection of IPPIS to their visiting status to other universities are not aware that the lecturers that serve as visiting lecturers are mostly visiting lecturers to private and state universities which are NOT on IPPIS. So it is impossible for IPPIS to detect it.

Also, IPPIS does not take into consideration other peculiarities like visiting lecturers from foreign universities whose services are required to support some departments that need their expertise. Universities all over the world don't operate in isolation.

CalebLebsco56 educate yourself on the above quote.

CalebLebsco56:
This lecturers are just selfish fighting only for their pocket...this their ASUU no dey finish, since when i was in primary school...
We have gone to the university sef, same syllabues, no research, miss lectures..only interested in failing students, frustrating them and sleeping with ladies...some of you have joined the IPPIS just the Oga at the top dont want to join because it will exposed their greed...this is one of the simplest job in the country

It is hard to believe ASUU because they are fighting tooth and nail not to be on IPPIS, so I expect lies from them. Over 400 MDAs join IPPIS, there was not story only ASUU wan come de tell us stories.

MDAs, lecturers and Professors do not have the same salary scale.

I would not join you in this argument which I've witnessed.

Again, enquire before you post.

Hectarus:

Not a lie.
The professors who registered on IPPIS are crying right now.
They can't cope.
Many of them are close to retiring.
If you don't know, ask before you make judgements.

A lecturer I earning 5,800 from Feb 2020 till his salary was stopped in July can attest.

Another federal parastatal worker on IPPIS has been pursuing her salary of November last year till date.
Worst is you have to go to Abuja to lodge complaints.
If you can't afford hotel accommodation for at least 2 days or know anybody you can put up with
OYO na your case.

ASUU wan start lying, IPPIS has over 400 MDAs presently on it and it is only ASUU that somehow will start receiving 8000, below minimum wage. Very stupid story.

If you enquired about it, you would have known a good number of lecturers and Professors were paid a large percentage less than their monthly payments.
MDAs, University lecturers and Professors do not have the same salary scale.
Enquire next time before you post.

Much of Nigeria's generated electricity remain unused because the country is not able to distribute it as a result of poor transmission and distribution network, which has prompted it to sell to neighbouring countries.Other countries that get their supply from Nigeria include the Republic of Benin, which receives supplies of at least 80 per cent of the total quantum of electricity consumed in the country as well as Niger Republic and Togo.

https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/10/28/fg-to-connect-chad-to-national-power-grid/

Interesting. Wisdom is profitable to direct. This decision is unwise(foolish).

Improve transmission and distribution of unused megawatts of electricity by apportioning a percentage of the budget to them annually until completion.

Mr. Bassa was scheduled to get married to his long-time sweetheart on November 19, 2020, when the humiliation of being denied promotion for the third time became too much for him to absorb.“He has watched as his contemporaries were being selectively promoted, including some who did not even pass promotional examinations,” an official said. He should have been at least promoted to assistant superintendent of prison II bar the injustice, his colleague said.

Gazette learnt that the matter was escalated to interior minister Rauf Aregbesola, who failed to take action.

"He did not show any care about the young man that died when he was informed about it,” an official said. “Neither did he even bother to say he would launch an investigation into the injustice of selectivepromotion.”

“They only promote based on ethnicity, faith and your financial status,” an official said. “It is unspeakable the level of fraud and injustice that comes with promotions in the service.”
