I have had this kind of issue before. I advise that you visit the nearest FirstBank branch and provide the Account number of the customer which the transfer was made to or better still send an email with your account number and the recipients account number, date of transfer to their contact centre (firstcontact@firstbanknigeria.com) or their fraud desk. They will sure assist

udumosam23:
I offer quickteller and agent banking services. A customer made a cash deposit, but during the transfer from my account to hers, there was network issue and i got a failure notice from my mobile app. I tried again and it was successful.

Latter i realised both transactions were succesful. I called her and she called the recipients who complained she is in hospital as at the time. So she gave me the number of the recipient to call her myself.

I did call her, and she told me she was still at the hospital, and though she acknowledged the double transfer, but her health comes first.

I sympathize with her situation and gave her time. I also prayed for her recovery (pls don't think it's because of the money, I'm a Christian).

After a week i called again and thankfully she has recovered, but she was harsh on me. She complained that was not the first time someone posted money wrongly to her account. And finally ask me to remove the money if i have a way of doing so.

I went to the bank to lodge the complain only to realise she has withdrawn all the money. She doesn't even use the account frequently and the address is very far from the East. Infact, she is at Illorin.

I thought of getting a court order as adviced against the account. But then the amount is small, just 30,000. Don't want to think about how much I'll begin to spend with a lawyer in a bid to recover that amount.

My bank also wanted to... (don't even know how they called that) to her account. But money doesn't even come frequently to the account.

I have thought of threatening her, but i have already given her the impression I'm a Christian.

Just thinking on how best to recover my small money without having to spend more than it.

I have also thought of letting go. But each time i do, i think of the amount as too big to dash a criminal. Besides, she said it wasn't the first time. Probably she went away with others, and if she go away with this too, she'll continue and encourage others to do same.

So please what do i do in this case, considering the fact that I'm at the east, and she west.

A team of volunteers have come together to kill lies in our political system.

We believe that the Buhari-Osinbajo ticket offers the opportunity for Nigeria to depart from its current course of insecurity, corruption and economic mismanagement, hence the volunteer effort towards killing the lies that political opponents have introduced to discourage voters from supporting the candidacy of Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

In 2015, change is coming to Nigeria, and we need every vote to kick-start that process. To help get these votes, we ask that you share the facts on this website with everyone – via SMS, through your favourite radio/TV shows, and on social media.

If you come across any outright lies about Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), or any claims you are not sure of their accuracy, please send such to lies@factchecki.ng. If you’ve got facts that can kill any of the lies that are aimed at making the People’s General look bad, please send such to facts@factchecki.ng.

This project is made possible, thanks to the (wo)man-hours invested by @gbengasesan, @oothenigerian, @detola, @naijahistory, … (yes, we’re waiting for you to join the team by writing to 2015@factchecki.ng).

Politics / RACE TO 2015: Labour Party Denies Endorsing Jonathan by xtanburg: 3:17am On Jan 01, 2015
Mr Abdulkadri Abdulsalam, the National Chairman, Labour Party, on Tuesday said that the party had not endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate for the 2015 general elections.

Abdulsalam, who gave the clarification in an interview with NAN in Abuja, said the rumour had gone viral on social media.

He said the rumours had no base or truth.

“The party has not endorsed anybody; if we want to endorse anyone as a presidential candidate, we must hold a convention where we will collectively and democratically agree.

“No credible candidate has spoken with us for endorsement; the information going round that we have endorsed Jonathan must be considered as rumour.

“Whatever is our intention to endorse any presidential candidate will be made known because we will definitely meet and endorse who ever we want as a presidential candidate,’’ he said.

However, he said that no credible candidate with the capacity and capability to compete for presidential position had emerged from Labour Party.

On the party’s score card for 2014, he said it had conducted different political education programmes and seminars for women and youths on the forthcoming 2015 general elections.

He recalled that the party’s convention was held successfully on Oct. 11 in Akure, where he emerged as the National Chairman.

According to him, the party has given 40 per cent slots to women in its cabinet and relocated its National Secretariat from the noisy Garki market to a more suitable environment, among others.
Politics / 2015: No Basis For Objection Over Buhari's Credentials- INEC by xtanburg: 6:09am On Dec 31, 2014
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said there was no basis for objection to the affidavit presented by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen Muhammadu Buhari, over the circumstances surrounding his certificates.

It also said that it does not have the mandate to screen or reject candidates and stressed that its role was simply to display the nominees of parties for claims and objections, noting that only when there are objections will they revert to the parties to do the needful.

The APC presidential candidate, Buhari, did not submit his certificates and other credentials to INEC, saying that the documents are with the military.

He however explained the development in an affidavit dated November 24, 2014 which he deposed to before an Abuja High Court.

But the chief press secretary to the INEC chairman, Kayode Idow,u who insisted that he would not comment on individual candidates said: "When parties file the nominees, the law requires that INEC should display those nominees for claims and objections. If objections are made to those claims, the commission reverts to the parties because the statutory mandate is on the parties to nominate their candidates, not for INEC to choose their candidates for them.
