Just a quick one, please I want to find anyone knows about one leaving Canada before PR card arrives and for one reason or the other there is a delay in sending the card. I know one can get a single trip travel document back into Canada. I just want to know if anyone has an idea of how long it takes to get this travel document back into Canada.

I am a female and the PA and about to apply for ECA through WES but i am abit confused on how to complete registration with WES and not confuse myself.

I am married and my passport bears my married name, same with my registration on WES website, in my married name, but i am applying for an evaluation of my certificates obtained in my maiden name.

Please does anyone know if i wont run into issues with WES ECA report, in the sense that WES evaluate certificates in Miss A's name (maiden name) for an application submitted by Mrs. A (married name).

In the form, there is a place for your maiden name and another for your married name. Both will show in the final evaluation.

@Geebaby10, may you birth safely. In my opinion you should give birth in US. You can't compare the worth of an American passport to that of a Canadian one(think of the future not only money to be spent). If your child has an American citizenship, Canadian permanent stay and Nigerian passport, he or she is covered all round.

How about the double taxes he will have to pay. Even if he never lives in US or Canada, he would have to pay taxes to both of them even if earning in Naira. Tax will be at their rate.

Or you can also apply to your nearest IRCC office by calling IRCC’s Call Centre at 1-888-242-2100 in order to book an appointment. Please note that you must call this number from inside Canada. Appointments can take months to arrange.

Will i be eligible for the health insurance during delivery? Since i am already in canada do i go ahead with the rest of my transactions as a PR or have to leave and land again as a PR.

I know that you can do a land crossing at Niagara. Walk across the bridge to US side, ask that they reject you and then walk back to the Canadian side. Heard some people discussing the option. People do it all the time.

Please I have a question. The dates in my employment period as filled on my express entry profile are different from what I have on my reference letter. For example, Express entry profile says Dec 2013 to Jan 2015, while reference letter is Jan 2014 to Jan 2015 (my employer counted from date of resumption, while I counted from date I got acceptance letter there for PPA). Either ways, it does not detract from the 1 year work experience claimed but I am worried the date mismatch might be a problem, although it is written in the express entry profile online forms that no actual immigration decisions will be made based on information from the express entry profile questionnaire. Instead of going back to get a new reference letter to try to rectify this mismatch, is it advisable to just go with the dates on the reference letter in the e-APR?

Please, experienced input is much appreciated.

Why not edit your EE profile to mirror your ref letter? As long as it's still 1 year then you have nothing to worry about.

Where will d child now stay before I get back from work?

You pay for extended hours daycare that will take care of them till 6pm. You can also do extended hours in the morning.

School starts 8:30am and you can only drop off by 8:15am. So if you want to drop off by 7am, you get a sort of daycare nearby or the school itself that you pay for. Same for closing until the child is 12 years. That's when you can start leaving them at home by themselves. If you pick them after 6:15pm, you pay late fees which is billed per minute.

3.5 and 1 yr will be between 2k and 3k per month for daycare in Ontario. You need something that will pay you above that including 1500 dollars for rent and utilities. By 4yrs, he should be able to join junior kindergarten in Sept.

Take study leave and go to school. I had classmates like that.

I hope to start d ECA soonest. I also included Bsc. to be evaluated , but the two are not issued by the same entity. If sent at different time would I get desired response? Like how much would ICAN charge me for the service?

ICAN is about 10k per transcript abi is it 15k for international? You can call their Ebuta Metta office to find out. That's where they do it.

Hello all, I got my COPR and did my PR landing on March 8th, 2018 in Canada since I presently reside there. My hubby submitted his passport to Accra 24th Feb 2018 and the medsage on VFS tracking says" processed passport has being forwarded to Visa Office Accra since 26th Feb 2016" .
Please can anyone explain why the long delay?

It could take up to 5 weeks for them to issue the visa. Just wait for them. They hardly answer emails.

I got a Fido SIM card at the Square One Mall in Mississauga. I have to say at this point that Canadian mobile phone service is quite expensive. My package was CAD55 monthly for unlimited Canada wide calls and texts and 2GB data.

I bought a few winter clothes to add to the ones I had bought in Nigeria. Jackets were averagely CAD35 but depends on the store you’re buying from. I also went to Burger King to eat while waiting for 3pm. I got an Uber from there to my Airbnb in Brampton for about CAD19.

Next Steps
I plan to look for a permanent place to stay in Downtown Toronto from next week as that is closer to my new office where I resume in April.

I need to get and load a Presto card for bus service. I also need to go back to the bank to deposit my dollars and wire the money from my Nigerian account.

That Square One has a bus terminal and you can get Presto from there or your nearest community center.

That same Fido store at Square One gave us same package of Fido for CAD45.

Different banks, driver's license, etc. Read the FAQ for additional proof of address.

They do. But they use their own format and you pay for it, about N500.

I didn't but you can get a new passport and travel with the two. Just make sure the old passport has cancelled without prejudice on the blank pages.

Better send a CSE and include it. US is the easiest one for them to get. Cos they can ban you for misrepresentation.

Depends on what part of Canada. If in GTA, it's not too bad. Was initially planning on buying a car but no one will sell to me without a valid G or G2 license.

Bus and sometimes UberX is definitely cheaper than a car. Just less convenient. Insurance is about 400CAD a month, then monthly financing, gas, etc.
