NYSC / No Increment In Corps Members’ Allowance – NYSC DG by yankeedudu01(m): 6:21pm On Sep 08, 2018
THE Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Sale Zakari Kazaure has debunked rumours of increment in the monthly allowances of serving corps members across the country by the Federal Government.
He said corps members are not different from civil servants, adding that whenever the minimum wage of civil servants is increased, increment in corps members’ allowance will automatically be effected.
Kazaure spoke at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, Delta State while addressing the 2018 batch ‘B’ (stream II) corps members posted to Edo, Delta and Bayelsa states and are presently under going the three-week orientation course.
He gave the assurance that the NYSC is in corroboration with all security agencies to guarantee the safety of corps members in their various places of primary assignments.
Kazaure cautioned corps members deployed to the three states against sharp practices, urging them to maintain neutrality if they are called upon as ad-hoc workers for the 2019 general elections.
Besides, he admonished them to avoid being involved in “yahoo business, 419, night parties and not to be deceived by politicians as 2019 election is coming closer.
“Any where you find yourselves, be neutral. Also be good ambassadors and be patriotic to your country. Anyone found wanting will be dealt with.”
Coordinator of NYSC in Delta State, Mr. Omotade Benjamin Ayodele informed the DG that a total of 2,084 corps members were deployed to the three states for the 2018 batch ‘B’ service year.
Omotade disclosed that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC),Warri has assisted in purchasing drugs for the camp clinic and laboratory equipment, adding also that the camp management has utilized the Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) from the camp to purchase some facilities.

My fellow corpers, help me o. my ppa is a nightmare. first i studied linguistics and communications, i was posted to a private shop (i dnt wnt to say firm) this shop is located in a market and they are into making of customized notebooks. as if tht is not annoying enough, I and another female corper. the owner has a full time job elsewhere so we are required to make the notepads...we are to resume by 9 and close by 5. last week, he made us come to work on public holidays (mon and tues), and on wednesday when i went for my clearance, i was told that i had to go and make dlvry in banana island (time was already past 2), even though i pleaded so mny times that it was already late to go to the island (ppa and my house are both located in iyana ipaja) well, just to be obedient i left for island after i was done with my clearance (2pm), i got back to iyana ipaja past 10, my husband had to come and pick me from the bus stop. as if that is not enough, the following day, i was asked to go and pick a cake and take it to the owner's workplace in ikeja which i simply refused, the other corper was asked to run the errand.... to top it up, we are required to work on saturdays as well which i dont plan on ever going. well, i just received a mail titled 'warning' stating that i am suppose to serve my country in all circumstances and i can not choose orr dictate when i can come to work, what errands i can run, also my being married isnt their business. the most annoying thing is I am older than the monkey. i am so pissed...any advice in the house? (sorry for the plenty errors, na as i dey vex...to angry to correct anything)
Sorry about that. I feel your pain. Is running errands part of serving your country Is the company paying up to 50k? Do you have a company car for delivery? You need to complain all of these to your LGI, he/she will know how to help out.

mikedimeji: Good evening all. On this subject matter (beach party) every body has spoken well. Beautiful suggestions and all that. But pls I have some questions and I want us to look at it objectively.
1. Talking about drinks, are we all buying drinks both male and female? If yes what do we intend to do with the remaining drinks Becos am very sure we will have excess. Take for example if 1/3 of the number coming there do not take alcohol and decides to buy a pack of Ceres juice each, don't we think there will be over excess of drinks, don't forget we are not going their to get drunk.
2. Talking about dress, people are talking about how to change, how do we Intend to go about it. As much as we guys feels we do not have any problem changing any where we have to consider the ladies very well, I wouldn't want us to assume anything.
3. Has any body gone to this particular beach to know what is obtainable there whether or not Is conducive for us having in mind that we are spending close to 4hours on the average.
4. What is the program of event, what are we going to be doing from 11am to 4pm, we are talking of 4 hours on the average. Are we just going to be standing for 4hours?
Pls I feel we need to reach a conclusive conclusion and have some concrete arrangement on ground in order to have a fun fill beach party, let's not assume anything.
My opinion though.
Things to consider.
