Travel / Re: Mixed Reaction Trail FG's Choice Of Ethiopian Airlines As National Carrier by yekete: 11:55am On Sep 23, 2022
I am asking, because, I read a part of the news bolded by you that no one bid or show interest except Ethiopia airline.

So, the right question should be, is Airpeace disenfranchised or the company decides not to participate by their volition.
Methinks, unless you and I heard from Airpeace, it is unfair castigating Govt to proceed with other people that show interest.

Racoon:
Is it not a big shame and national embarrassment that Nigeria-the so called giant of Africa is soliciting to have the sophisticated Ethiopian Airlines as its national carrier?

Same Ethiopian Airlines that was formed just in the last two decade. Nigeria Airways crumbled. Nigerian National Shipping Line(NNSL) also crumbled. NNPC is a cesspool of endless corruption while the Nigerian Railway Corporation is struggling to breath.

Air Peace was more like a national carrier during the COVID-19 pandemic but parochial interest will not allow the FG to consider it for this role. Meanwhile, after all the lies of investors desperately bidding to be stakeholders by Lai Mohammed, only Ethiopian Airlines was the only interested party? Lie telling Is a disease.

Sanwo Olu just shared same event today, because it is not in what he cherished as memorabilia

derecho:
Go to Sanwo-olu's page before deceiving yourself.
The Op chose to post NOI's version for some validation.
Is it Sanwo-olu that will snap near every gutter in Lagos and upload it online that'd not keep this as a memorabilia?

In case you missed NOI's point, she's telling her followers what was discussed.
More like saying:

But Madan Ngozi can not even allow Sanwo Olu posted this on his Twitter handle, to show the world he win jackpot by having a meeting the WTO Director.

From SM, it was Madam that posted she met with the Governor

derecho:
Sanwo-olu will forever cherish this.

The title is funny sha.
I think it was Sanwo-olu that visited and begged to snap with her o...but somebori decided to change it.

Waiting for Sanwo-olu, aka Remi Tinubu's houseboy, to use this visit as one of his "many"achievements.

Programming / Re: I'm About To Start My Programming Learning Journey by yekete: 2:19pm On Sep 03, 2022
One advice I will like to offer is that,
Before you start to write the first line of code, ask yourself, do you want to become web app developer, mobile app developer, game developer, embedded systems programmer, CyberSecurity and many other genre. The reason is because, the tools of trade and approach differ sometimes.

What is your passion and what is the future demands for such skill in the next 5-10yrs down the road.

When, I started learning Python around 2014/15 then, my close friend who was learning PHP at that time was like, what can you do with Python, simply because he was getting gig from web.

Personally, I don't like GUI (probably, because I am color blind) but I am aware of demand for Python programmers across multiple section of technology, so, I put in more efforts in learning Python to escape web stack. Today, I worked in area of technology that have future and yet to be saturated.

First, scale down what you wanted to do.

Either
1. Programming/coding or
2. Graphics Design

The two are independent that requires full-time learning and mastering of core tasks.

You will need to spend long time in the woods to acquire work ready skills.

Please, I take God beg you, muzzle all the courage and financial strength you can source for, to start all over again.

Check my story here, for almost two decades, I was equally chanting "schools na scam" upandan.
During the long period, I had presented paper both within and outside the shore of the country, appointed as members of national advisory body. However, I realized that having no certificate means I cannot access certain opportunities in the societies.

I took the decision around 2014 to acquire Degree and within same period learnt some skills.

Today, I was employed based on the skills but my degree certificate was added value (even, if for decoration)
The monthly is over 0.5m with all benefits

Top of the morning to you all.

I will try to make this missive brief. In 200level, I dropped out of school because I took in. The guy I was pregnant for later died few months later.

I stayed with my mum and eventually gave birth and I nursed my boy and provided for him because my parent were financially handicapped.

Few months later, I started a fruit biz. It eventually flourish and I was able to get an apartment and I started providing for myself and my boy.

Although biz is not as flourishing as before due to the present nation's predicament. Not much sales. Things are getting a bit bad.

Now, I'm at the crossroad. I really want to pick a school of nursing form but my boy and biz is stunting my plans. I'm confuse. Please, what will you advise me to do?

Should I look for the form or focus on my biz?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Self-employed Vs Employee, Which Is Best? by yekete: 4:23pm On Sep 02, 2022
For starter, I had been in the two shoe.
But, I tell you.
If the pay of been employed by somebody is good, like over 500k, don't think twice before going for it, especially if it comes with hybrid options.

The seconds option is exactly what I am doing now. Only show up twice in a week (mandatory) at office, and work remotely for the rest of the weekdays.
Some colleagues even comes once a week and work remotely for the rest of weekdays.

No, specific day, just show up on any random day of the weekday.

Welkincollege:
SELF-EMPLOYED VS EMPLOYEE

From my point of view, it is better to be self-employed than to be an employee. The advantages of being self employed far outweigh the one of being an employee. Two of the key advantages of being self-employed that I cherish most are:
1. As an entrepreneur, Your business can be inherited while as an employee, your employment can not be inherited.
2. Most employee ( in private sector) are employed by the self-employed folks.

Please share your own view about this subject of discussion in the comments below:

And please, remember to replace the state' populations (sic, not only the human population, everything ) with Lagos populations in those state in order to balance the equation.

Here it is.
Budget means for 50 people shouldn't be the same with 5 people.
It is not proper to say that, because a manager mismanaged budget for 50 peoples, therefore same budget should be allocated to 5 people.

SmartPolician:
This man is talking nonsense.

Which technocrats did Tinubu attract?

If a state generates over #40 billion per month, even if you make an idiot the governor, there's no way he won't perform.

Give Dave Umahi, Babagana Zulum or Udom Emmanuel the money Lagos State generates and see what they will turn their states into.

No Lagos governor did more projects like Fashola because with the withheld Lagos allocation he received from Yar'Adua + IGR, no governor in Nigeria has been able to control such an amount.

Gr8mike:

Exactly what my GM said, that with my skills, in no long time I will continue to earn more, if I go to Benin, I will stagnate my progress as I am still a young Lad. I am currently running an online course which my current company gives me time to attend due to the structures I have laid down, moving to a new company might not give me that luxury of time.

Last night, I spied into the email conversations they had, and all my Lebanese Chairman was saying, is do everything to keep him, he is good. This gave me more courage to negotiate more.

I just finished having a meeting with the management board and with counsel from mentors and you guys here, I negotiated for Free meal and HMO with pension, they agreed for the free meal and pension, but disagreed on the HMO.

I thank you all for giving me the courage to take some decisions. If everything goes as plan, from my next salary, I promise a little giveaway to all that commented here.

Thank you all.

Childhood ambition:
Grow up in the village, come to city once in a year. Watching "Doctor Who" TV series during those long vacation raised my curiosity. Then, back in the village, I started tampering with anything electronics, mind you, to see a damage transistor radio Is no moimoi.
Eventually, Computer Science was a course I was hoping to study. After many years at home and frustrated due to university admission, I went to studies Computer science / Math at NCE level.

I wrote the final paper, did final year project but I lost faith in certificate and I joined the gangster " School na scam" that was early 2000.
Then my ambition was to become Astronomer, yes you read it. For almost like 7years, I was doing independent research, and the outcome of this was, attending international conference outside the country, presentation of paper in citadel of learning and many fora. To cap it all, I was a member of National body that advice govt agency on issue bordering on some Astronomical event.

Let me say this here, never give up on your dream
Remember, despite being a member of both international and national body, I never have either university or any certificate.

So, reality down on me. Hence I started all over again.

Current Ambition
I went back to university, studied Computer Science, now earned cool cash as Data Engineer.

That's story of someone who missed his way and retract back.

Is that deliberate or mischief by Punch newspapers to insert "developers" in that sentence or it is handwork of the OP?

The Nigerian developers are Henri Osita Okechukwu, Chisom Emmanuel Obiajulu, Okeke Peter, Obinna Sunday, Oneka Amba, Chisom Anthonoy Ekwenze, Okeyea Azubike, Anuyarah Ojuyemena Daniel, Anuruka Jinika Francis, Luke and Domado Chinedo.

Modified : The OP is evil, as original news on Punch newspapers does not carry such word.

Your assumption is not corollary to "truth" until the information about number of dangote's bank accounts are made open, no one can be sure of anything.
Moreover, any reference laws stipulating number of bank accounts one is entitled to open.

PS: Currently, I am sure you are entitled to operates one legally BVN/NIN and equally sure that, that single BVN/NIN will be links to all your banks accounts either as personal or corporate bank accounts. So, imagine an entrepreneur like Dangote that promote different companies, with each having a separate account in different banks, your guess on number of bank accounts linked to that single BVN/NIN is good as mine.

Nope but it raises suspicion. I doubt if Dangote has 103 personal accounts.
