Webmasters / Re: Onigbongbo Local Government Website Hacked by yinka007(m): 1:26pm On Feb 24, 2012
It is usually as a result of weak password policy. The ideal password should be:
1. alphanumeric
2. at least 7 characters
3. must contain a special character
4. should be changed every 3 months

Politics / Re: Subsidies: Sls Replies Critics. A Must Read by yinka007(m): 12:12pm On Jan 14, 2012
Issues raised by Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi:

One of the main points raised by the CBN governor is that the FG is paying subsidies for petrol that was never imported. Based on his report, it can be gathered that a large percentage of the imported product is fraudulent(it was only imported on paper).

What this means is that the government would pay less if it was only paying for the actual imported fuel. Therefore saving itself a sizeable sum of money.

MY SOLUTIONS ARE:
1. Sanitize the inspection process, put in place a committee that includes civil societies, NLC, and people of repute to monitor and verify the actual quantity of imported petrol. (Provide the necessary tools and equipment for this purpose)

2. Put in place software that audits all activities e.g. SAP. (If necessary make the audits public)

3. Use reputable Pre-shipment inspection agencies.

4. Prosecute and punish offenders

If we are not capable of implenting this processes, let us ask for help.

Politics / Re: What Can Honest Nigerians Do to Stop 'Nigerian Scams'? by yinka007(m): 6:59pm On Jan 30, 2008
The future is bleak for Nigerian who do legitimate business online. When you place orders online with a credit or debit card issued from a Nigerian bank or from a Nigerian IP address you order may initially go through but the order will eventually get cancelled and your fund may be on hold for between 3 days to 3 weeks. The question now is how do we do legitimate transactions when the world refuses to deal with us? We are forced to either order sub standard products and services or look for alternatives (which at most times end up being illegal). Being a web developer i have to make online payments all the time and my experience has made me realize that it takes extra ordinary effort to be a honest Nigerian
