Religion / Re: My Brother Wants To End His Marriage Because Of A Prophecy by Yinkame123(m): 10:19am On Nov 05, 2017
Though its weird that a wife will be an obstruction to the husband blessings but its real. Some of us men brings out the us in us when the mega bucks arrived. Only few men still keep their modesty when money arrives. Some woman we rather preferred to live in peace with their husband without Money to living in pieces with money.

Our imam share an experience of a friend that visited someone in portharcourt. When the Alfa sees the conditions of the man he promised to help him in ways of prayer for things to change to better. However, when the man step out of the house the wife called the Alfa and warned him that she is not complaining as the situations the husband is make him responsible and dedicated to the family. Because when he was buoyant he was misbehaving. The issue is not of divorce bit to allay the fear of the woman that a change in status will not be a change in character and behaviour.

shortgun:
Prophets, pastors, Church leaders I will need your help on this one.

My elder brother has been married to his wife about 14yrs now, the marriage is blessed with 3 boys.
His wife is not the kind of woman a lot of men will pray for but no one is perfect. My bro tells me things about his marriage that he won't even disclose to our parents, I am very close to him and he always seeks my opinion.

His wife is a devoted Christian... she attends almost all d church programs and never misses Church service every sunday.

They had a program in d Church and she invited the husband. My brother went to the program and the Pastor called him out and told him that God wants to bless him financially more than he will ever imagine but there is a voice crying to God not to bless him.

The pastor called the wife out and told her that she is the d one telling God not to bless her husband cos she thinks a lot of money in his hands will make him to misbehave and d wife said yes.

The pastor now asked my brother to promise that if God bless him with this huge amount of money will you promise not to misbehave and he said yes... the pastor now asked his wife to reverse the prayer she has been praying against her husband right there inside the Church so that God can bless him and she did.

Since that day my brother became restless, he couldn't believe that the woman under his roof is d one praying against his progress. He told me that he wants to divorce her so that he can be free from her negative prayers.

I don't really know what to tell him.

That was the mistake I made. I zeroed in on CarlCare without making further enquiries. Thanks for the other shops you've mentioned. At least, others who may view this thread can patronise them and whenever I am in need of repairs and I happen to be in Uyo, I will certainly keep them in mind.

The same experinece i had with the one on Victoria Island Lagos off Saka Tinubu Street. I took my infinix note 2 which the volume and power buttons were not functional. After the plumb lady (dont know why the prefer having plumb ladies at there reception) examined the phone she said i will change the screen and the phone panel. The screen 17500, the panel 41,000 and these was a phone i bought 40k two years ago.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Ruling Concerning Post-burial Gathering by Yinkame123(m): 9:01pm On Jul 21, 2017
gaffig:

We are allowed to do a lot of things they didn't do, but when talking about worship and its act, we are not allowed to add anything from our desire or imagination, why we follow the predecessor's action is because they lived with the prophet and witness Islam firsthand, I'm sure it's rather safer to follow their acts than innovative which could bring regret.

I think we need to be rightly guided on what we termed as bidia. Their are set rules in islam and any addition to it should be termed as bidia. For example if someone tell us today that solat subuhi that us two rakat should be increase to four then that is bidia. If someone tell us today that there is another mount somewhere that we can climb in alternative to Harafat then that is bidia. Anything outside the core worship or doing of the prophet that are not expressly forbidden and is carried out with the intention of seeking Allah's mercy then we can't termed it as bidia. The hadith u mentioned doesn't relate with the gatherings the OP mentioned. Doing firdau prayer, 40days prayer, the burial ceremony is quite different from the deeds the prophet (S.A.W) mentioned.
Salam alaykum

Can you please mention the deeds meant by the hadith? How does a walad soliha remember his or her parents? So if I gather people to pray as remembrance for my dead parents it has constituted bidiah? Please quote any hadith that expressly forbade this

You really can't separate the two..any act of worship done to seek a reward that wasn't prescribed, done or encouraged by the pious predecessors is to be considered an innovation and therefore worthless. In many cases it might even bring about Allah's wrath upon the doer.May Allah guide us

Who are the pious?/And why do we think after those we considered as pious anything outside there doing is bad? I still stand to be corrected that not everything related to life was covered by the predecessor hence the fatwa been given by scholars on issue to covered in the past.

What's different between the two? Will a dead man organize prayer for himself? Is it not the children or relatives that will do that? Don't forget Niyat l- mhari hiru min amalihi. Even the gathering is to seek the mercy of Allah for the dead how does that constitute bidiah? Please point to me any hadith that expressly forbid gathering of fellow Muslims to seek Allahs' mercy for the death.

Is wrong because Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessing of Allah be on him) did not do it.

Are we saying all what prophet muhammad peace be upon him did not do is forbideen for us to do? Are we saying prophet muhammad peace be upon him has done everything and nothing is left. Remember prophet muhammad did not pray taraweeh in jamat and we did. Is that not innovation as well?. Similarly, how do we place the hadeeth that says ' when human dies all his/her deeds has ended except of any of these three, zadakat jariya, al-hilm yan fahu bi, or waladu soliha yadihu bia?

Bimpe29:
Shaykh ibn Baaz رحمه الله was asked:

What is the ruling concerning what is known as al-ma`tim, in which people gather for three days after the burial in order to recite the Quran?

He Responded:

The gathering in the house of the deceased to eat, drink and recite the Qur'aan is an innovation. Similarly, their getting together to pray for the person and make supplications for him are also innovations. There is no source for it. All that should be done is that, people come to pay condolences, pray for the person, ask for mercy for them, console their grieving and encourage them to be patient. To gather for what they call al- ma'tim, to make particular supplications, particular prayers or reading of the Quran has no basis whatsoever. If that were a good act, our pious predecessors would have done it.

The Messenger of Allaah صلي الله عليه و سلم did not do it. When Jaafar ibn Abee Taalib, Abdullaah ibn Rawaaha and Zaid ibn Haaritha were killed at the Battle of Mu'tah and the Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم received the news through revelation, the Prophet announced that to the Companions and told them their news. He supplicated for them and asked Allaah to be pleased with them. He did no make a gathering. He did not prepare a meal or have a ma'tim. All of that he did not do even though the three who died were from the most virtuous of the Companions.
When Abu Bakr died, also no one made a ma'tim, even though he was the best of the Companions. When Umar was killed, no one made a ma'tim. The people did not gather to pray or read the Qur'aan for him. Uthman and Ali were killed and the people did not gather after a specific time to pray for them, ask mercy for them or prepare food for them. It is, however, recommended for the relatives or neighbors of the deceased to prepare food for the deceased's family and to send that food to them. This is similar to what the Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم did when the news of Jaafar's death came to him. He said to his family,

"Prepare food for the family of Jafar as something has occurred to them that is preoccupying them."'

The family of the deceased are preoccupied with their loss. To prepare food for them and send it to them is what is legal sanctioned. However, to add to their affliction and to put more responsibilities on their shoulders by making them prepare food for the people goes completely against the sunnah. In fact, it is an innovation.

Jareer ibn Abdullaah al-Bajali said, "We used to consider gathering with the family of the deceased and preparing food after the burial as a kind of lamentation." And lamentation is forbidden. This is to raise one's voice, while the deceased is punished in the grave due to the wailing over him. One must avoid such practices. However, there is no harm in crying with tears.

Thank for the enlightenment. However my question is, was it wrong because it was not done by our predecessor or because it is not good to be done?

Thank you sir for the response. The topography is OK it wouldn't posed any risk of fish wash away. I intended to stock 4000 fishes. I planned to feed them to table size.

What should I use to lime the pond? And for how long should the lime stays In the pond? Will I need to pump out the water after liming? Is liming same as fertilization?

Please I need more enlightenment on feed regime from foreign to local. Thanks in advance

quote author=excelsiorfarm post=53195283] Please PRAISE GOD HIS GRACE. Amen to your Prayers.
Those ponds are wide, what is your target? you know you count cost before starting e.g. number of fishes etc. Also what is the topography of area in case the rain comes so that your fishes could be secured against washing away by flood e.tc.

In business, you have to be a bit crude with cash if you don't want to be sent to village, since you agreed on a borehole, my expectation will be to negotiate initially how deep or depth of their work could be, what if they meet obstacle? who takes what and bear the losses or are they going to change site of location etc., But sha we learn daily.

Good well diggers know that at times they have to use explosive mechanism to break rock layers and some of those layers could even be thin layers of rocks.

Lime your ponds before your fishes come, it aids fish growth by planktons growth and assist to destroy some suppose harmful organisms that might be resident in your ponds. I cannot give you a vivid timing because the 17 bags of feed are just of varying sizes and moreover if indeed you are to be sold juveniles, I don't think 1.8mm should be in your feed range, except you are saying properly the breeder have not being faithful enough to give quality feed at the fishes infancy.

You can choose to start your local at 10 weeks, it also depends on their growth. When we talk of local feeds, please endeavor to buy from reputable ones. what you give will determine your result at the end of the day.
I must commend you and the others sir for empowering thousands of Nigerians to be self sufficient through fish farming in the ways you share knowledge on the subject matters. May God continue to bless you guys.
As a result of the information and courage derived from these forum I decided to start fish farming this year. So there has been challenges which I am gradually overcoming. I acquired an 100/100 swampy land. Dug two earthen ponds of 30/30/4 and 40/20/4. Planning to dig another 20/20/4 for sorting purpose. As a result of the season water has been a major challenge for me. Tried to dig Manila borehole but was not successful as the quys hit rock at 9 feet out of the 40k initial payment I gave them only 10k was returned. I later chooses option of well. Unfortunately, they could only achieve 14 feet before they hit a big rock that they cannot continue. Presently when we leave the well for two days we have at least 6 feed of water. So I pumped the water into the pond two days interval. I planned to stock 4000 juvenile. I have purchase 17 bags of foreign feeds durante and top feeds of 1.8mm, 2mm, 3mm and 4mm. I have also paid for the juvenile and was told will be ready in five weeks.
Please the area I would like you to pls throw more light for me is how long will it take them to finish the foreign feed? When can I start local feed and what quantity of local feed will be required to table size. I planned 4 months 10 days principle. God bless you sir and hoping to hear your response.

hat you want to do on your farm, there is need for it. Though some of the advantages of covered ponds is to generate heat during cold weather or reduce heat during hot weather depending on the type of color covering use,in the dark, your fishes a relax etc.,you can determine healthy fishes from sick ones easily if partly covered. It also encourage feeding to say a few. The question you will ask yourself is which of these are you targeting to achieve,at what cost in relationship to your pond size. When you evaluate well, then you could decide

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How To Identify Genuine Job Invites by Yinkame123(m): 1:59pm On Dec 02, 2016
Qummie:
While some people are trying to earn a honest living from legal jobs, a particular set of people (let’s call them job scammers) are trying to swindle unsuspecting graduates of the little they have.

These are some fool-proof to ascertain the genuity of job mails.
1. SENDER’S EMAIL:

No legitimate firm will send out an interview invite with an “@gmail.com” or “@yahoo.com” email address. All organizations have their own customized email address(es). Something like vacancies@nairaland.com would be legitimate as opposed to nairaland@yahoo.com

2. “TO” DETAILS:

Just below the mail subject, view details and see how many people the mail was sent to. If there’s any other email asides yours, just run for the sake of your life and wallet. ONLY scammers send “interview” invites in bulk. No sane organization does that. Once you view details and you find several other email addresses as receivers, it is scam. Period!

3. COMPANY LOGO

“Most” legit organizations include their logo either above or below the body of the mail. Not all organizations do this but very many do.

4. SALUTATION

If a job invite is legit, then the company sure has the name of who they are looking to meet. A legit opening would be; “Dear (your name)” as opposed to an orsinary “Dear”, “Hi”, etc.

5. BODY

“Thanks for your application for the post of “customer care agent”, we would like to schedule an interview.…(legit).

‘In response to your application, you have been invited for a “career talk”‘….(Not legit).
What the hell is a career talk and how will that put food on the table?
Notice also that in the non-legit one, the position you allegedly applied for wasn’t stated. (Epic fail). These are the kind of invites you honour and at the venue prospective drivers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, all take the same aptitude test.

6. PHONE NUMBERS

I’m not sure if legit organizations include contact numbers in mails but one thing i know for sure is that if the need to include a phone number arises, it won’t be a personal contact detail. In other words, it would be for more, Mari Williams and Co ltd: 0009875, 008765. .
Not call Mike on 08765 or call Angel on 00433.

There are several other ways to ascertain the genuity of job invites but these are the ones I’ve discovered work for me. If you have other fool-proof tips, kindly share in the comments section.

I can authoritatively confirmed to fellow nairalander that the problem in power supply in this country are majorly that of the GENCOS. The companies that bought the power generation lack the capital to functioned properly. Most of the power plants are not performing optimally because the gas suppliers are afraid of selling gas to the GENCOS on credit fearing huge debt which might be difficult to recover. Hence they collect fees in advance of supply. When the amount of gas supplied is equal to the amount point they stopped gas supply. Which means load sheadding by the GENCOS. When that happens what is distributed to the DISCOS is also affected.

Written of will is not in most cases a guarantee that animosity will not occur after the demise of an individual. Cases are abound of family where presence of will constitute more troubles because the children of the deceased contested the will which in most cases dragged for years in the law court. One of such cases is that of late Rotimi Williams SAN that the sons were at each others throat as regards the authenticity of the will he left behind. in my view leaving will behind does not guarantee they will not be crisis after death.

yetseyi:

A will protects your family, its that simple. Protects your spouse and children from relatives ,makes its easier to access funds from banks etc.

No wonder relatives of some deceased people find it very difficult to access funds of the dead from financial institutions. Its easier to leave a will than for the people you left to be chasing letter of administration up and down, a lot of people have left funds of dead relatives in banks and other institutions simply because the process is just to expensive for them, they just forget about such funds. If there is a will its easy.

Why i commend Toyin Aimakhu for accepting the responsibilities to assist mayowa in soliciting for spirited Nigerian to raise the funds required for Mayowa treatment i also commend those that decided to tale from there hard earn money at this period of harsh economy. It only takes someone with a large heart to do what Toyin did as well as the contributor. Looking at it from a different perspective, Toyin already new Mayowa condition before accepting the responsibilities to solicit funds for her and in my opinion it would have based on a sound conviction of Mayowa conditions. For toyin to have come out again to claimed it was a scam leave a lot for one to desire. My question to toyin is 1. Was the lady not sick as claimed by the family? Did the family abandoned her at the hospital and runaway with the donated funds? Was the money missing in mayowas' account? If the answer to this questions are no then Toyin cannot claim it was a scam. But the GREATEST DEVIL in this whole sage is the good for nothing called LINDA IKEJI for using her blog to break a news without verifying the authenticity of the news.

***** I read the whole story from beginning and I am sure toyin is trying to take advantage of the family due to the amount they made in just few days but the family declined according to two different stories I read. (Who knows if the family are saying the truth)

**** This is Nigeria where we have so many greedy people including ppl that can use their children for money ritual. So I am not surprised if the accusation are true.

**** Toyin was fast to use the same celebrity status to contact our lonely single linda to post the crap since she hasnt born before and she doesnt know how painful it is losing a child.

Few days ago, we read a story of a young man that has his heart in his bag and he has been surviving with it. If it was Nigeria, the same quacks will tell him he can't survive and he will die soon. Nonsense!!!

Only quacks that we have in Nigeria will give a patient a false hope cos that's where their own knowledge ends while "where their own end is where another person knowledge starts from".

What will it cost the witch to travel from her hell she called home to verify the veracity at LUTH and probably at Mayowas' family house. IT is obvious Linda Ikeji only want to make money from breaking news but do not want to spend money in gathering the fact of the news. No one sells sand and receive money in lingua franca, the payment is usually stone.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Is The Quran In Reported Speeches ? by Yinkame123(m): 5:03pm On Jul 23, 2016
I seems not to understand what the writer is driving at. It's indisputable that Quran is a revelation from Allah to Prophet Muhammad through angel Jubril. To use a simple logic since what the op uses is logic if I asked you to tell a friend that ' if you don't give me my money in three days I will make sure I get you arrested by the police'. The quran container 6666 verses and 124 chapters scientific research has proven that the words it contains is not that of a man but someone in the highest realm of the universe.

truthman2012:
Muslims claim the quran is the direct revelations of allaah without any contributions by Gabriel and Muhammad. If it is true, their should be no reported speeches but direct speeches. But what we find in the quran are many reported speeches suggesting that either Gabriel or Muhammad spoke in the quran.

In the quranic quotes below, wherever you find the word 'Allah' should have been I or Me or My if they were direct speeches of Allah. Why should allah address himself as allah?

And when ye said: O Moses! We are weary of one kind of food; so call upon thy Lord for us that He bring forth for us of that which the earth groweth - of its herbs and its cucumbers and its corn and its lentils and its onions. He said: Would ye exchange that which is higher for that which is lower? Go down to settled country, thus ye shall get that which ye demand. And humiliation and wretchedness were stamped upon them and they were visited with wrath from Allah. That was because they disbelieved in Allah's revelations and slew the prophets wrongfully. That was for their disobedience and transgression.
(Qur'an 2:61).

And they say: Our hearts are hardened. Nay, but Allah hath cursed them for their unbelief. Little is that which they believe. And when there cometh unto them a scripture from Allah, confirming that in their possession - though before that they were asking for a signal triumph over those who disbelieved - and when there cometh unto them that which they know (to be the truth) they disbelieve therein. The curse of Allah is on disbelievers. Evil is that for which they sell their souls: that they should disbelieve in that which Allah hath revealed, grudging that Allah should reveal of His bounty unto whom He will of His slaves. They have incurred anger upon anger. For disbelievers is a shameful doom."
Qur'an 2:88

Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance." Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah.
Qur'an 2:120

Or say ye that Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes were Jews or Christians? Say: Do ye know best, or doth Allah? And who is more unjust than he who hideth a testimony which he hath received from Allah? Allah is not unaware of what ye do."
Qur'an 2:140

Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.
Qur'an 3:110
