@spyder well done.

I have a question. The stones are they not too heavy for the decking ? why stones and not the normal gravel or granite?

@ spyder
these recent pics did the house a lot of justice. One can see that it is the camera or the way the pics were taken was the problem and not the house its self that is bended. smiley and man is it really coming out good. Nice !

@spyder well done.

Am just wondering, whats going on with the other projects? especially the Anambra project I thought u said there was enough fund to finish the project in about couple of months?. why abandon it to start another one ? its is just one team that is doing the works? To me everything is a little bit all over the place.

And as for the suggestion by some here to kind of put all projects in a ''folder like'' with references to all projects I think is a better idea because this whole thing is beginging to loose its sparks .

@spyder
Never mind, it’s probably how the picture was taken or the design of the house as I stated previously or it may as well be the way I am viewing it. However, if you have a closer look at the second to the last picture you uploaded (the full house) you may see where I am coming from. From the front elevation, the right part of the top floor starting from the decking upward looks to be bending right, slightly not aligning with the ground floor. This is the part I was referring to and you may view it differently.

same here.

ogogo24:

My guess, the white ones are made from pretty white sharp sand and the brown blocks from brown sharp sand. Correct?
ogogo24:

I doubt if that will work the magic. Another thing that might affect the color of the finished product will be d water used in molding. Using muddy water could affect the color too, I suppose.

Thats what i would have guessed also smiley but never really thought about it before in that way, always thought that; it cause ''maybe'' the blocks were not dry cheesy JJC like me. grin

another wonderful thread once again. and i love the pics u are posting @spyder , the way we are building houses in nigeria this days is really impressive only if they will maintain the houses . undecided

Am Alone:

Take it or leave it bros. You can go and evestigate that.
They build for the future man!!! Against an unforeseen circumstances
That is required. I have notice our normal fence always have cracks with few years
and some fall , while others are always renovated after so much cracks!!!!

You can go ahead believing we Nigerians over build that is what you think
But talking from experience, I don't think so!!!! How many houses in Nigeria
last up to 25years without looking like a billion year old abandoned building?
Come to maintainance, we don't have much of that as well.

Dont know much about building but one thing for sure is that in overseas they do not use fences like in nig, its mostly flower/plant fence that is common unlike here in nigeria they dont like to feel like they are in prison cheesy and when people say that some people over build that does not go with ur theori its totally something different that is meant

spyder880:

Spyder is a real estate investor who actively supervised the building of more than 25 houses both mine and for family and friends. My experience in the building industry actually started in 1998 when I built my first house and since then I have been actively building in partnership with structural engineers, architects and highly skilled workmen. Now I am like a manager of sorts, employing two graduates who work for me as supervisors to my projects. I also went to a technical school and is currently working in a construction/manufacturing company where I have worked with all types of materials for 18 years. In my first degree I read Business Administration but I feel like going back to read engineering. I have also attended numerous training courses in project management, people and skills management, company safety and cost control. But I must also state that I love structures, I am a building freak and can stay in a site for 12 hours and not feel hungry.

My dream is to set up a company where I will employ many professionals and assign contracts for them to manage while I overlook all their affairs and ensure my company delivers solid houses with an affordable budget at a timeline that is reasonable. Thank you for the question.

@spyder thank you for the answer we might need to talk privately so the tigers in this forum dont eat me alive for asking questions how can i contact you ??
