are you not referring to circle of fourths ?
no perfect fourth chords
Music/Radio / Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by zbone(m): 9:55pm On Dec 07, 2014
Dramadiddy:
Ok of course you know fourth chords are chords which the notes are a perfect fourth apart, In study of structure of chords, you'll find out that some of the chords have fourth chords in them or maybe they're scattered and you have to arrange them and get your fourth/quartal chords, I would hve loved to give examples but I don't hve them off hand, Cos I dont really use them...their sound doesn't seem appealing to me...I ll add that to my list of upcoming videos, but you know how to create extended and altered chords right?

yeah I understand the theory behind them.. I just need tips on how to use them. its funny u say u don't like them, I think they sound jazzy. I guess everyone has their own taste, style.. like u always say. however I would like you to share those examples when you do get them, thanks.
yeah, I can create extended and altered chords.

Lolgrin
do you know that awkward moment when the chorister changes to an unknown key and you're like ''which kind winchi be this onegrin?'' then other choristers would be lost and you'd get exposed. The keyboard had a transpose function but most times, it would be tough to change keys in seconds. And as a good keyboardist the proper thing to do is to modulate.

@Estarkeys
You're right but In My Opinion, the theorical aspect makes one more creative and gives the confidence to try out something new.
I remember when I used to play only on keyC and keyF. Hmm! I quarrelled a Lot with the singers after service grin especially if they couldn't hold on to a particular key. Was it their fault?
I had to stay-off playing the keyboard for 3months just to download E-books on playing the keyboard and learn the theorical aspect. When I returned? The rest is history.
lol@ quarrelled with singers after service.. guy you wicked o, C and Fmajor, ur singers don't suffer sha. BTW your church keyboard no get transpose function?

Passing chords are illegally legitimate chords.
The rules involving the creation of passing chords are based on:
1. Moving in half-steps.
2. Moving to the fourth
3. Moving to the fifth
4. Other Movements grin

what I posted above might not always work. But they always work grin
Sorry for the late reply.
You guys are not trying ohangry, a simple mention might just be enough to remind me. Won't it ?
moving to the fourth, fifth? explain

@zbone

Actually, those are solfas but don't mind me sha, I was only trying to explain to Mimo1 in a more simplier term.

But, the chord progression is a simple 4-5-4-1.

As in, you'll play 4-5-4-1 as key on the LH and 1-4-5-4 as chords on the RH and the RH chords is more like 1-1-4-5-5-4.

Here is the recording, don't mind my keyboard oo cheesy

don't think so
I knew someone was going to say metronome. guess I don't have a choice eh?
Music/Radio / Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by zbone(m): 10:55pm On Dec 01, 2014
Karleb:
@Mimo1. I just checked out the rhythm undecided you said you are tired of and it was super cool. I am adding it to my collections right away. wink

BTW, did you get the rhythm I gave you on Sunday? As in do you understand it?

Well, you can try playing fsfd as notes on bass and ddfssf as chords on the treble and tell me how it sounds . wink
how do you guys understand the notes cos all I can see are letters. i think a better way to do this is make a small recording of the line and share it. trust me after seeing those solfas, 3 different melodic lines come to mind, and its possible what you're trying to pass across is totally different. or you could tell us the value of each of the notes.

guys, how can a keyboard player improve his timing. by timing I mean, how do learn to keep a steady beat especially when you don't have a drummer!?

yea but it doesn't apply to maj extensions oo... The seventh will just be as it is..

A C2 chord and a C9 differ by what? 'cos Someone is trying to confuse me.

@ Karleb
it seems your phone doesn't support wav format. I'll try to convert it to a mp3 format.
in addition to what dramadiddy said when you use extensions like nines, elevens etc. it is assumed that the flatted seventh is in the chord

You have a problem with comprehension.
City is an upstart, a jolly just come, with no actual sustained success.
Atleast, chelsea has being a major european powerhouse for the past 10 years, while city can't even leave their group.
There is no sensible reason why a nigerian will start supporting city, until atleast 10 years of sustained success.
If you want to support a 'fresh club' then go for borrusia dortmund, atleast they have european pedigree.
And yes, enyimba has more pedigree.
They were twice continental champions.
No u have a problem with comprehension ...
What sustained success did Chelsea have before roman? I guess they had ten years of 'sustained' success before roman eh? Get off your high horse, we know majority of Chelsea fans, naija, including you came when roman brought his millions to dat average club. Going by your reasoning Dortmund should be your club today, because upstarts shouldn't have fans, cause Chelsea was once an upstart. What annoys me most is dat ,did same sh.it u are saying about city was said about Chelsea by other fans then till u they finally were accepted into the cartel of big teams, short memories eh?

F117AA:
Who is we?
when did city began to have fans in Nigeria?
What is their pedigree to warant foreign fanship.?
At this stage of their devt , all their real fans should be based in england.
They need to spend atleast 10 good years at the top before anything.
A team that cannot qualify from UEFA group stages already has foreign fans.
Funny indeed.
Even enyimba has more pedigree.
That is a whole load of crap you just said there. All d so called Chelsea fans you have today in nigeria are a result of success brought about by roman abramovic's millions. If you call city fans glory hunters you could as well call Chelsea fans d same cos they followed Chelsea's recent success. BTW what will you say about Chelsea's Asian fan base eh..?
Eyimba have more pedigree... don't get me started on this
