Politics / Re: North Has No Link With Terrorists - Arewa by zoraro(m): 1:57pm On Jan 08, 2011
North is struggling for its own right with courage and hope.

Right to loot and steal?. When it is time to loot they conveniently forget their religion but when it's time to kill innocent people they stamp it on their foreheads. Hypocrites  angry.

I think Ijaws have to be very careful, it must not be Jonathan or nothing.

If there is no zoning in the ruling party, the North has the capacity to dominate politics and this will rile up ethnic tensions.

Our brothers in the South must be careful of this. Jonathan will not be President forever. With zoning, after Jonathan it may take a long time before power comes to the South again.

Jonathan should not put his selfish ambition over the interest of all ethnic minorities in the country.

Have you heard the saying "A bird in the hand is worth two in the forest". If not for sellouts like you who are easily bought by politicians from the North, the North even with their supposed  majority can not have their way at all (the North do not make up 2/3 of the states of the Country).

And you want those that made it a failed state to come back and make it a dead state angry.

@ zoraro, i was expecting to hear this b4 now, because this guys can switch off/restore light more than 10 times within 15mins.

At least, it's better than now that we have had just about total 2 hours of power for the past 3/4 days here in some part of Lagos metropolis.
Politics / Re: Phcn System Collapse Plunges Country Into Darkness by zoraro(m): 11:34pm On Dec 30, 2010
I heard from a source that the Chief expatriate engineer in Egbin was electrocuted when trying to solve the problem some days ago. This may be why there is a delay in restoring power.
Family / Re: My Wife Lied To Me About Her Age by zoraro(m): 3:55am On Dec 25, 2010
Women usually live longer than men, so technically you are both about the same age. Consider this also, What if you divorce her and marry this your University girl and after two months sorry one year she didn't take in and she decides to leave you because she believes that the cause of her not getting pregnant is that you are too old. How would you feel?
Politics / Re: Madam Jonathan And Her English by zoraro(m): 2:08am On Dec 25, 2010
@OP are you sure you heard right, please post a transcript or a video link. Like someone said earlier you should remove the log in your eye first before pointing at the speck in others eyes.

Somebody posted this (which is correct).
You guys should be careful the way you criticize Mr. President and his Wife, this is because, God has ordain them to lead us.
So NL, be guarded.

And yet you thought it was wrong.
Hahahaha! It should be guided not  guarded.
Guarded = Take precautions in order to avoid some unwanted consequence.

Why are we so pretentious?

Samsung doesn't make the screen, casing, Antenna, Battery. They didn't supply the touch sensitive glass overlay for the touch screen. They didn't supply the Gyroscope. They didn't supply the GPS chip. Broadcom did. Broadcom supplied the Wifi + Bluetooth module. And there are a couple of other odd and ends.

So 'almost half' is an exaggeration.

And all these parts you mentioned constitute more than half the parts of an iPhone 4? Do you know the makers of all the chips, capacitors, resistors, transistors etc also?

pharuk:

Majority of the end user (consumers) dont care where parts are coming from, who really cares if its from bahamas, cotonou, maiduguri or malaysia

I don't care either, I was only making a point.

You guys working on a new set of text messages?

I hope you guys were not surprised when he was denied bail with his cock and bull stories, so please don't be surprised too when he is found guilty. Why will the government be asking him to blame the North for the bombing if he wasn't the one that actually did the bombing? If he continues with this kind of stories instead of trying to defend himself then there can only be one outcome.

Some chaps at work have been saying "The Samsung Galaxy S is the poor man's Iphone " Cracks us up all the time.

Almost half of the parts of the iPhone are made by Samsung, the Galaxy S is cheaper because Samsung don't have to source many parts from other manufacturers like Apple does, I guess.

I pity this Okah guy, He's so busy trying to rope in the government in the attack he doesn't know that he is digging his own grave. Even if all he claims are true it doesn't absolve him from been a part of the bomb blast.

Why do people like to lie? Do you own both phones?
If you have HTC EVO 4G, you need to carry extra charger around.Battery life is way too bad. Google it yourself. You cannot compare the screen resolution with Iphone4. (Are you wearing High Definition glasses?)
With Iphone 4, I can work seamlessly with different Apps. Name any problem, THERE IS AN APP FOR IT.

You don't know the meaning of EXCEPT or what? I said that the Evo 4G is a better phone in all aspects other than the ones I mentioned.

1. It is heavier than the iPhone.
2. It has lower color depth. 65k to iPhone's 16M.
3. It has lower screen resolution.
4. etc.

@bidemi12 if we all most agree to bring up our children in the proper ways to change things why can't we all then agree to change our bad ways now, Is this not a egg-before-the-chicken problem? Which comes first.
Phones / Re: Android Or Iphone, Which One Is Better? by zoraro(m): 11:51am On Dec 19, 2010
HTC Evo 4G wins except for weight, screen color depth, screen resolution, battery life and of course appz.

You and I know that Somalia is the No.1 failed state in the world.  So, for Somalia to be No.1 on that list tells you that it is a form of ranking and our own 9ja is ranked 14th on the list. My brother,  tell me , in what area has anything ever worked in Nigeria? Even our football has been affected by the failure syndrome. Things has gotten so bad that Nigerians are now seeking greener pasture in countries like Sudan and Zimbabwe.

Sudan and Zimbabwe are ranked 3 and 4 respectively on the list, which shows that the list is just a figment of someones imagination.
Sierra Leone and Liberia that just came out of civil wars are ranked better than Nigeria which shows that some people are actually wishing that Nigeria becomes a failed state and it is sad that some Nigerians are amongst them.
Nigeria has no business been amongst the poor nations in the world (I believe that the individual parts that make up Nigeria will do better if separated or co-federated.) but that is no reason to say Nigeria is a failed state.
Politics / Re: Debate: Is Nigeria A Failed State? by zoraro(m): 11:28pm On Dec 17, 2010
@bidemi12 I understand your frustration, the problems of Nigeria frustrates me too. I will however take the present corruption, decay, stagnation, insecurity over war, refugees, starvation etc. At least, there is a chance that things might change for the better however small or tiny that chance is. The pains of a failed state are 100 times more than what Nigeria has today.

tosag:

Go to wikipedia and search, Nigeria is ranked 14th on the list of failed states. Somalia and Chad are sitting comfortably at the top. Nigeria has failed in all areas hence, she deserves to be called a failed state.

The list includes every country in the world. It didn't say that the top 14 are the failed states.
Politics / Re: Debate: Is Nigeria A Failed State? by zoraro(m): 9:59pm On Dec 17, 2010
I hope that Nigeria will never be a failed state. I am sorry, but I think only an enemy of Nigeria/Nigerians will wish that for this Country. Like Chrisbenogor said, it is because Nigeria is not/can not be a failed state that is why we have so many problems today. The threat of been a failed state is not what should motivate Nigerians to make the Country better, the suffering is already unbearable as it is.
If Nigeria becomes a failed state the suffering will be 100 times more than it is today, all neighboring Countries (if not the whole West Africa) will be affected. The Nigerian civil war will be child's play compared to it, Nigeria's population today is more than 3 times what it was then.
So I can't Imagine that a Nigerian will say/wish such for the Country.

Romance / Re: Why African Marriages Can't Survive In The West by zoraro(m): 9:54am On Dec 02, 2010
agitator:

You don't pay for a wife in the West but in Africa you pay.  After the man has paid you want 50/50 partnership as is obtainable in the west. it's impossible!!!

furacao:

If you endorse paying for a wife like a piece of cloth or a Mr Biggs burger, then that woman is ab initio, treated like a piece of property.

I think these are very important reasons why some of these marriages have problems and I think for women even here in Africa to truly enjoy equal status with men in marriages then this bride price/dowry thing has to be stopped, but I know that more women will be against that than men.

Much as i want to agree with you, I dont think the  awards are based on the videos alone becos na good music naim dem dey first look before dem talk of the video. If the music no make sense no matter the  kind video you shoot it will still not sell. I personally dont ve any favourite amongst the winners or those  who did  not win but I still feel something is just not right with the list. Lets call a spade a spade and not a farming impliment.

Like T@meD0 said, the award is based on the best videos (best pictures, best direction, best production, best choreography, best cinematography etc.) not most popular or best selling videos/music.

was a survey done to conclude that African marriages are not surviving in the West?
