@Blacksta We dont need quiet people as leaders who are mere stoogies - We need a vocal and do much type. Please register to vote out the incompetent lot. The demise of PDP and anything associated to it is the begining of hope for Nigeria. Report to moderator Logged TRUE TALK. PDP MUST GO. |

I recommend Hon Patrick Obahiagbon to tutor the first lady on the use of grammar and save us from further embarrassment |

I've always been of the opinion that we should scrap English as our 'lingua franca' and we should adopt pidgin. This just lends credence to my long held opinion |

@OP are you sure you heard right, please post a transcript or a video link. Like someone said earlier you should remove the log in your eye first before pointing at the speck in others eyes. Somebody posted this (which is correct). You guys should be careful the way you criticize Mr. President and his Wife, this is because, God has ordain them to lead us. And yet you thought it was wrong.
Hahahaha! It should be guided not guarded.
Guarded = Take precautions in order to avoid some unwanted consequence. Why are we so pretentious? |

english is not our mother tongue, lets use this as an opportunity to campaign for a nigerian language that will have to be spoken by all nigerians instead of english |

Like someone said, since the grammar of Mrs GEJ has no effect on the poliicies and programmes of the FG,the thread should be moved to the jokes section for better effect |

snowdrops:both EFCC and Council on Foreign Relations told us that Patience Johnathan is corrupt! Look at the story in NEXT. It was published more than 5 months ago. Dame Patience has not sued the paper for libel http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5565603-146/patience_we_are_watching.csp 'Nigerians will remember how in August 2006, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) agents seized N104 million from one Nancy Ebere Nwosu, said to be an associate of Mrs. Jonathan. On 22 August, 2006, Justice Anwuli Chikere, of the Federal High Court, gave the commission legal backing to retain the money pending the conclusion of investigation. On 11 September of the same year, a whopping $13.5 million was seized from Patience Jonathan herself by the agency. The investigation into these two cases are still outstanding as at this moment. Furthermore, the Council on Foreign Relations, in a report on the April 2007 elections in Bayelsa State, said that Patience Jonathan was regarded as the “greediest person in Bayelsa State.”' |

rasputinn:What are you talking about? Which party has the most evil-minded people. Do you know these "gentlemen" - Akala, Gbenga Daniel, Anenih? They are for Johnathan now. And you are saying which party? In the South West, we have a Fashola in ACN. Do you want to compare the those people in PDP to Fashola or even compare the garisson party (PDP) to ACN. The Nigerian-PDP honeymoon ended more than 10 years ago. We need a new party that will act with less impunity. |

angelo5uk:Think before you call anyone a fool. If a Nigerian does not speak his own language, I will find out if he was taught or not? But English is a compulsory subject for NECO, SSSCE and Jamb exams. Why? Why don't you ask your friend Johnathan to make 1 Nigerian language compulsory at SSCE level. Tell me how you are going to read research work in Fulfulde and also publish your work in Nigbati. English is even a degree course in its own right at universities all over Nigeria. So why should she not invest time to become better at it. And if we must treat English with levity, why should I not take other subjects (math, geography, etc) I learnt at O level with levity. It is silly to say that I am not better than her. She is the first lady. Am I a first anything? Do I represent Nigeria anywhere? Stop trying to reduce the office of the president to that of an illiterate! BTW if you disdain english, what language will GEJ address us in? |

Re: Madam Jonathan And Her English by Nuellie(f): 12:34am On Dec 26, 2010 |
On a serious note. This thing is getting embarrassing. How can a person speak such english? If we are doing anything we have to do it well. My opinion is that until a nigerian language is made the lingua franca, everybody in some position of importance should at least make an effort to speak english well. Doesn' the woman even listen to herself, or is it that no one has told her that she is disgracing herself |
