Islam for Muslims / Re: The Difference Between Quran-based Islam And Hadith-based Practice by zubeyr(m): 5:18am On Dec 03, 2010 |
Koran is the greatest reference in our religion followed by the Sunnah crystallized by the authentic Hadiths of the Prophet SAW Hadith complements the Koran while explaining it On other hand Koran does only generalize sublime principal of Allah leaving to the Prophet SAW any latitude to complete it precisely and in specific cases |
Islam for Muslims / Re: The Ring : Ring And Islam, All You Need To Know by zubeyr(m): 3:58am On Dec 03, 2010 |
There is no text in the Koran or Hadith that prohibited a Muslim man from wearing necklace or ring as long as it not made from gold yeah there is Hadith that stated that cursed is the man that make himself looks like woman and cursed is the woman that makes herself look like man so I will say it all depend on someone culture and how they define male and female wear so please dont mix culture with Islam If your ibo culture says that necklace worn by male would make him look female then just stay away it would be haram since only woman wear it but if is not so is halal for you to wear it Islam has always being flexible and accommodating people cultures it is what we call in Arabic ''Urf "(known and familiar customs ) is like a Muslim Scottish won't be cursed because in their "urf" ( customs) men wear skirt but for an Arab man it would be prohibited (Haram) because in the Arab culture only women wear skirt and therefore it would make him look like woman 1 Like |

Islam for Muslims / Re: Is It Mandatory For Women To Wear Hijab by zubeyr(m): 11:47pm On Dec 01, 2010 |
First most people don't know that when Koran addressed the issue of Hijab its was within the context of addressing the room in which the Prophet SAW used to meet His guests it meant that the Prophet wives couldn't be in same room when many people visited the prophet SAW for different reasons Therefore Koran stated that the wives should be behind Hijab (curtain) so people here should know that hijab in Arabic means curtain or divider and not dress code the word Hijab in Arabic could be employed in many ways for example the Koran was described as Hijab between its readers and the wrong path the appropriate linguistic term we should be using is" Khimar"( head scarf) when referring to dress code and not Hijab (curtain) To my knowledge Hijab is not mandated in Koran if it is it is only the subjective of interpretation of Aya (verse) by reader hence many scholars say that according to Hadith a woman should covers all her body except her hands and face a very limited Muslim know that this is in Sunan Abu Dawud (volume three Hadith 4092) Abu Dawud says this Hadith is" Mursal" (weak) (the narrator who transmitted it from Seyida Aisha is missing ) so since this Hadith according to Abu Dawud is Mursal (weak) so it has no value for Shariah purpose Yes Islam emphasizes modesty in the dress of Muslim woman but nowhere does it mandate what they call Hijab as matter fact modesty in dress is also required from Muslim men |

Islam for Muslims / Re: Zina by zubeyr(m): 1:20am On Nov 19, 2010 |
Sister Thanks for your question which shows how God fearing and truthful penitent you are May Allah forgive our sins and accept our repentance In Islam the door of repentance is always open but for the repentance to be accepted you must resolve to cease from committing zina and show remorse for the sinful act and return to Allah seeking his forgiveness Allah says in the Koran " Say O my servants who have transgressed against their Souls despair not of Mercy of Allah :For Allah forgives all sins For His oft Forgiving Most Merciful " Az zumar 53 Allah also Says " Allah accept the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterwards to them will Allah turn in Mercy: For Allah is Full of knowledge and wisdom" An Nissa 17 Sister be keen on performing your prayers regularly give Sadaqah (charity) to the poor and needy with the intention to purify yourself and expiate your sins and determine not to commit this sin again and what your friend has said has no basis there is no legal statue preventing someone from marrying someone with whom he has committed zina |
Islam for Muslims / Re: Shia-islam-what Do You Know Or Would Like To Know? by zubeyr(m): 5:38pm On Nov 16, 2010 |
@ Lagos Shia When we read verses of Koran we should read the entire passage and not just isolated part of it we must see the context and what is being said otherwise we will be misled I am afraid that many of you are either knowingly or unknowingly taking the Koran and Hadith out of context just to win debates already lost Since you mentioned the verse of AL Ahzab 33:33 let us now read to whom this verse was addressed let us read the entire sentence from 33:32 to 33:34 " O WIVES OF THE PROPHET you are not like any of other women if you will be on your guard then be not soft on your speech lest he in whose heart is disease yearn and speak a good word and stay quietly in your houses and make not a dazzling display like the one of the former time of ignorance and establish regular prayer and give regular charity and obey Allah and His Messenger and Allah only wishes to remove all abominations from you YOU EHL ALBEYT (people of the house) and to make YOU pure and Spotless " AL Ahzab 32 -34 It is obvious Allah clearly Addresses the wives of The Prophet (SAW) if we were to argue that this verse of purification and that it makes certain people infallible then we should have to conclude that is Seyida Aisha and Seyida Hafsa and the rest of the Prophet' s Wives I based this on simple fact that the verse was revealed with the Heading (YA NISA ENNEBI) "O Wives of The Prophet" Bro how can we say this verse refers to Imam Ali (RA)and the infallible Shia Imams when none of them were mentioned here but only the wives are addressed ? there is no actually a single verse in Koran which identifies Imam Ali (RA) Seyida Fatima (RA) Imam Hassan (RA) Imam Hussein (RA) to be Ehl Albeyt not single verse in the Koran mentions the 12 infallible Shia Imams let alone mentioning them as the Ehl Albeyt How is that a very fundamental aspect of Shia faith is not mentioned in the Koran which is supposed to be the ultimate guide to the truth ? the term Ehl Albeyt has being used only twice in the Koran and both times to refer to the Wives The Koran never said "O cousin of the Prophet" or "O Hussain"but rather it says "O Wives of The Prophet" |
Islam for Muslims / Re: Shia-islam-what Do You Know Or Would Like To Know? by zubeyr(m): 7:05am On Nov 16, 2010 |
@ Kwarashia Have you ever read Surat AL Ahzab " The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves and His Wives are their Mothers " AL Ahzab 6 can you contradict this verse by denying that Seyida Aisha and Seyida Hafsa are not among the Wives of the Prophets and are not your Mothers you will automatically exit the fold of Islam if you say so How dare can you claim that those Two noble Women are not a part of relatives of the Prophet or His Household? I am not sure how fluent are you in Arabic ? but Ahl Albeyt means( People of the House ) Albeyt in Arabic means House so therefore Aisha and Hafsa are both a part of Ahl Albeyt and this verse emphasized that all the Prophet ' s wives are Allah Says Talking to The Prophet wives "And abide in your House and do not display yourselves the display of the former time of ignorance and establish Prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity of sins Ahl Albeyt( People of the Prophet's household ) and to purify you with extensive Purification" AL Ahzab 33 so why Allah called them here Ahl Albeyt ? it obvious He Meant the Prophet's wives since He was talking to them the narrative and the context are obvious My Muslim Shia Brothers I regard you as Muslims yet innovative Muslims furthermore I warned of two serious issues as far as many shiites concerned cursing the Prophet's companions and wives and invading the Sunni community with Shia doctrine As many Sunni I believe Shia are producers of many religious innovations (bidah) but are not unbelievers and the truth has only one face almost 90 % of Muslim are Sunnis this being the case the Shia as minority and oppsition also have the right to voice their beliefs about us |
Islam for Muslims / Re: Curious About Islam, facts About Islam. by zubeyr(m): 5:35am On Nov 16, 2010 |
Seyida Ify Let me first wish you and everybody here Eid Mubarak and Forgive me Madame for giving you the impression for being impolite I never meant to come across that way To answer your question about Ahmediya sect I would say that Ahmediya people are the followers of an Indian called Mirza Ahmed Ghulam this sect comprises two sub -sects : "Ahmediya Muslim comuunity" called (Qadiani) and Lahore Ahmediya Movement Mainstream Muslims scholars have already issued fatwas unanimously against this sect which they consider subversive falsely and decietfully claiming to be an Islamic sect The Highest Muslim Organization (Muslim World League ) which by the way comprises scholars from Both Muslim Schools of Thought (Sunni and Shia) issued Fatwa in 1974 stating " that this sect plans to damage the very foundations of Islam its eminent deviation from the basic Islamic principles are as follows 1- its founder claims that he was a Prophet 2 - they (Ahmedis) distort the meaning of the verses of the Koran 3 - they believe Jesus is dead The permanent board of Inquiry and Fatwa (Highest Scholars council) in Saudi Arabia Issued a Fatwa against them same year Also other Fatwas issued from the follow Muslims Organizations Islamic Fiqh Academy of Egypt Islamic fiqh council South Africa Fatwa from the Muslim based US Scholar Muzammil Siddiqi Shariah Council U K To answer your Last question what make this sect different from others Muslims ? The Muslims are those who worship Allah alone and follow His Messenger Mohamed (SAW) and believe that He is the Seal of the Prophets and there is no Prophet after Him as for Ahmedis they claim that Mirza Ahmed was a Prophet after Mohamed (SAW) which make them Kuffar (non Muslim) by contradicting This Koranic verse Allah Says in Surat Alahzab "Mohamed is not the Father of any man among you but He is The Messenger of Allah and the last (Seal) of The Prophets " Al Ahzab 40 and because of what The Prophet (SAW) have Said " I am the Seal of all The Prophets there is no Prophet after me "( Al Bukhari and Muslim Imam Ahmed and Abu Dawud ) Bottom line since they contradicted Koran and Hadith they can't be called Muslims according to all Scholars and because the major part of Islam is believing that there is no Prophet after Mohamed (SAW) that why we Muslims call Him the Seal of the Prophets since Ahmedis do not believe in it I don't think they can be assimilated in a Religion which is completely opposite to what they believe Last I never came across of thread addressing Ahmediya on NL but the Brothers and Sisters might have the answer |
Islam for Muslims / Re: Shia-islam-what Do You Know Or Would Like To Know? by zubeyr(m): 3:37pm On Nov 14, 2010 |
I wish as Muslims we can get along but our problem is ignorance people like sweetnecta should know better and go further their knowledge in Islam before spreading lies up in here suggesting that 50% of the Koran was about Prophet Musa was not only a big lie but also an insult to the intelligence of people here Koran out 114 chapters or surahs has only mentioned Prophet Musa in 13 surahs An other problem with sweetnecta she is eager to use some Arabic words but she screwed up every time she mispilled Uhud as Huud Wahshi as Waashi Jahiliyyah as Jahaliyah An other point we as Sunnis shouldn't dismiss every thing about Shia especially when it comes to the love of Ahl elbeyt ( Family of the Prophet ) The Prophet ask us to love them as a sign of gratitude to him Allah says "Say (O Mohamed to mankind ) I do not ask of you any reward for it except for Love for my near relatives "Koran 42:23 but to my Shia I hope they understand that this verse include our love also to Seyida Aisha and Seyida Hafsa wives of the Prophet and daughters of the first two caliphs the sad thing is Shia Scholars don't hesitate to rant and insult those two great Noble women which is wrong and unacceptable by any standard |
