Religion / Re: Bishop Oyedepo To Muslim Sister : “Convert To Christianity Or Die Poor,” by zulyfig: 3:09pm On Apr 27, 2013
ekt_bear: Well, he is a pastor. If

a) he believes his Bible literally and thinks that non-Christians will face eternal hellfire
b) his sister is a Muslim

should he:
c) be shouting and dancing in the streets about his sister
d) or doing everything in his power to make her change?

Look, if you do not share the man's beliefs, no wahala.

But no one can condemn him for them. He is not violating any laws. He is not killing or harming anyone. He certainly isn't obliged to maintain contact with her or financially support her.

If you believe in hellfire for non-believers, then you will agree with Oyedepo's actions.

His mistake was condemning his sister to a life of poverty if she refuses to accept Christ. Satan is the ruler of this world. The riches and wealth of this world has no significance to God or to our faith in God. He should know this as a pastor.
He just proved that too much wealth leads to eccentricity. (physical and spiritual).

dougivilla: The poor will never cease from our midst. Is poverty exclusive to any church or gathering? When you meet Oyedepo, ask Him ur questions, let me concentrate answering the reprobates!

What is the purpose of a church? The first gathering of the brethren in the bible, which signifies the first church was set up to assist the less privileged, widow, e.t.c Does a church serve it's purpose if the leader is strikingly rich and some of the members are stinkingly poor? Ask yourself this question; Is physical wealth of any importance to God?

Heaven on earth, hell fire, the kingdom, e.t.c..... we're obviously blindfolded by our desires to unveil the "truth". I think we should ignore all this unnecessary pursuit and focus on the salvation of our soul. Jesus Christ didn't preach religion nor did He tell us to do the same. He told us all that He is the way, the truth and the life. Most important truth of all. He also taught us love; The greatest commandment. Shikena! Haba!

Jesus wasn't wealthy... His disciples left their various businesses to follow him. ur so called papa followed him with his business and even used him to gain more wealth... It's easier for a camel to pass through the hole at the bottom of a sewing needle than for a wealthy person to inherit God's kingdom.
Question 1: Are there poor ppl in his church?
Question 2: With all his wealth is there hope that these poor ppl's life will improve in anyway besides the "spiritual food" that still leaves the physical stomach empty?
