Been married for over 5 years now and ever since my wife gave birth to my first child, I've been suspecting that it's not my child due to no sense of resemblance.

I finally did a DNA test but unfortunately the result shows that I'm not the father of my first child. No doubt my wife loves me so much and honestly she has done a lot, sacrificed alot for me.

My conscience never allowed me to end the marriage because honestly she is a good wife one could ever ask for though she has her bad sides.

Since the result came out, I never told her or confronted her because I'm very very certain that once I confront her the marriage will end cos alot will happen but everyday once I see the boy and remember, I get so angry but after some time when we are all playing as a family I will forget.

I still do everything a father could do for his son. Honestly it's not easy to forget about everything.

What do you advise me to do guys?

Don't be surprised she knows it's not your child. One day she will break the news for you. What you should do now is to try and have your own child and take the first as adopted son. When they grow up you tell them. Again, make sure she is not seeing the other father. That will be the worst thing that will happen to you.

You better tell us your name as well as your wife’s name here because you are going to make many married women on this forum very uneasy with their husband for the next couple of days…

Oga, come up with better scripts!

Still, if most married men of today start doing DNA tests for all their kids, the civil war that will break out in Nigeria will be historical! lipsrsealed

Send that snake away. She knows all along the kid is not yours but she put it on you, one day the real father will come for his ba.stard. She can/will bite you eventually. Don't listen to woke people.

Best advice ever!
Don't divorce her but let her know you know the truth.
My friend, do you know how many men father the children that are not theirs in the country? Please don't ever let the child know about it. Some people after all, adopt children.
Above everything, please, don't in anyway divorce your wife or hurt her.
Good wives are difficult to find.
But by the way, is that your only child?
general111:
Calm down...
One day this thing will hunt you if you dont deal with it now.
Tell her peacefully and try to let her know that you still love her and would love this to be a secret between both of you..
Once she hears that you want to make it a family secret, she will get soft and begin to confess.
Then you can properly forgive her and move on...

Besides, i think she has really been good to you, else this would have been a good reason to leave her.

Marriage is a life long relationship, not just love in tokyo.
If currently, you're enjoying it, then go on.

But do call her aside and tell her the result.
It's really not a thing to be angry about. If she asks for forgiveness, that is no problem. You can and will forgive, but you are not God.

Make her know that you are alright today, but you don't know how tomorrow will be. You will continue to pray that God gives you the needed grace and strength not to let it not worry you.

No one asides the two of you need to know about it. If you're thinking of inheritance for your kids, raise all of them to be equal and to expect equal inheritance
If she can do it within 5 years of marriage, why can’t she do it again?
Your legally married wife is having unprotected sex till the extent of getting pregnant.

Your mistake is going for the DNA. They are certain things we ought not to know or see for our mental health. Now u are more worried than ever.

Better you keep it to yourself since you aren't ready to do away with your wife. Further finding ll cause you more pains... just assume the DNA result is wrong, hold on that..

So sorry bro, but you should have thought things through before carrying out the DNA test.

Funny enough it was my wife that insisted on the test for our children before it was done. She wanted to be sure the babies were not switched by crazy nurses.

You've said everything.

Just keep living your life, but one day, gently tell your wife you know about the child not being yours.

If you can make peace afterwards, fine, but, whatever you do, the child must not suffer for it.

It's not his fault.

If you really want to be advised, this is what I will tell you. It's better you let your wife know that you're not in any way, ready to end the marriage. Don't even bother to ask further who the father of your first child is.
Re: The Aftermath Of DNA Test: My First Child Is Not Mine by elmagnifico411(m): 4:31pm On Oct 26, 2022
You'd have to confront her at some point oh. The way u go about it would tell if there's gonna be a heated kini, or a gentle discussion which could lead to u forgiving her cos u rightly pointed out that she's a good wife.

It could be one those last time nackings women do with their ex before embarking on a marital journey thinking they're smart, but not envisaging the danger that lies ahead.

You loving continually without telling her wouldn't be easy even as u keep telling yourself that you would, but being ok inside after finding hard wouldn't be easy. If it's just a one time thing and she's been faithful afterwards, search deeply inside of u, if u can forgive and continue to lover, please do. Which ever step u take I pray God help u out.
Re: The Aftermath Of DNA Test: My First Child Is Not Mine by LordHashira: 4:33pm On Oct 26, 2022
do a maternity test before confronting her. The child might not be hers as well.

If true, pay a serious visit to the hospital where una born.

If the child is hers, confront with the dual evidence.

You must be a preteen. It's called paternity fraud. Take time and Google it.

My advice is that you sit your wife down and let her know how much u love her, make her understand what she did but that you've forgiven her already after u knew. Opening up to her would relief u of the burden and make her love and appreciate u the more. Shit happens, we just have to dust ourselves and move on.
