By the way, "blogging" as a term don cast. If you're talking about making money from your WEBSITE, then numerous people are still doing that, big time, even in this our Naija.

My brother blogging never cast oo. It just that there are too many junk blogs in the world, not only in Nigeria.

Over 90% of blogs in the world get less than 1k views per month. Why? Because they post low quality stuff.

If I have some 100k that I can spend without looking back for a year, I swear I'll pump it into blogging. I know the strategies involved. You can't make money from blogging without spending. Except you can write 5k words daily for at least 5days a week. No be small work.

I ruined my blog at a time also, I got to understand the essence of if it aint broken, dont fix it. Thats why i laugh when people say seu,n should redesign nairaland.
I was on , I applied for adsense, during that period due to my own wrong move, I switched to wordpress, I think google indexed my site, it was offline and my adsense was declined for that reason, because I got that from earning dashboard on blogger.com.
Then my final fall was the host, mhen, those once ruined and wrecked me finally, I was getting many down time,at a time almost 12 to 17 hours downtime a day and they ghosted on us all without a word, never trust a naija host never. I lost everything, no back up nothing, 2013 to 2016 post was out and could never be gotten again.
I just relaxed after that, I guess it was time to stop.

My boss, the best way to make money from blogging is to hire expert writers and developers. Blogging is an investment today if you treat it as a hobby then no money.

With the EAT score and YMYL, it is very hard to rank for organic traffic on Google.
If you are blogging about money, health, finance, insurance and you don't have verifiable EAT ( Experience, authority and trustworthiness), you can forget about getting organic traffic.

With wayback machine you could get all your web pages back, re-register the domain and and do some work on the pages. It won't take long to start ranking again.

I was surfing Nairaland as usual when I came across your post.

I recently got a domain name: iwantvisa.com because i think it targets the niche market that wants to travel out of Nigeria for one reason or another. Almost everybody wants to travel out of the country, and to travel, you'll need a visa.

I intend developing it first into a blog that provides quality information about visa and then adding a website later on to assists those in need of obtaining a visa.(The theme is $39).

I plan to monetize it with Google Adsense and selling relevant digital products.

So naturally when you mentioned wordpress hosting i became more attentive. I need that wordpress hosting you mentioned above. I'm an opportunist. Yh, i know.

I want us to have a partnership or business understanding where you provide me with wordpress hosting and in return, you can place adverts of your choice(Hotel deals, travel reservation etc) on the blog for free (In form of banners, affiliate links etc).

Mind you, you'll keep getting thousands of views monthly because lots of Nigerians have questions about traveling and visa and so they'll keep visiting the website.

You got it all wrong when you mentioned niche. There's only one niche for 99% of Nigerian bloggers and that's social gossip. They all just want to be the next Linda Ikeji and own a palace in Banana Island or Iceland in Yuzedo's voice.

Yes, they want money quickly. I would suggest they work hard for a full year before they start seeing real money.
