I can help fix the machine but that problem is that it is obsolete and parts might not be available.
When these people buy such equipment, they should never pay in full. Instead they should lease from the manufacturer. Siemens, GE, Philips and Konica are all good brands.
An agreement of sales and service should be reached to reduce downtime.
This is a money spinner but most investors in Nigeria are only interested in hotel business.
A quick maths will give you an idea of the business aspect
Take for instance, at 100k per exam for easy 20 exams in a day is #2M
An equipment lease of 20 % interest rate of $150k ( equipment cost and installing) is just $30k. Divine this by 12 month you have $2500 a month
This amount is achievable in any teaching hospital MRI department in Nigeria.
And they will have newer, well maintained machine.
Lack of information and exposure to international market / investors is the problem in these respect.

How much is MRI?Sadiya Farooque alone stole billions of naria from social investment.Former accountant general of federation stole close to N200bn, Yahaya Bello alone stole N80.2bn ,Emefiele and his cohort also stole staggering amount of public funds via the ways and means and others. Even El-Rufai with $350m loan he took from World Bank couldn't spare some amount out of it to purchase functional MRI and dialysis machine for Barau Dikko Hospital which now serves as teaching hospital for Kaduna State University though he employed young experienced medical personnel but no functional facilities to work with.Nigeria needs total shift from corruption which has turned to norm,no one we do it for us until we arise and put an end to this nonsense most of us are feeling indifferent to.

All this nonsense with healthcare in Nigeria would be greatly improved in about 10 to 25 years if government, especially the Federal Government, would simply get out of the sector. Just get out, exit, wash their hands of it everything. Invite competent health standards organizations like JCHAO to do the regulation. Let the private sector take over and watch what will happen.

Nigerians love socialism so this is what they will always get.

Would they be able to pay when it is privatised? The same holds true for education.
